Covid19Control:I don't know how you people reason. Do you know that asymptomatic patients do share the virus? Are u going to test only those with symptoms? What about those who are newly infected without any symptoms and are also transmitting the virus? Is this the best way to stop the spread? Think critically pls. Is this how south Africa was able to test thousands of persona in few days? Stop making excuse for the failure of our government. I even propose that every local government in Nigeria should have testing zone. That way we can curb the spread |

SinisterX:They don't want to get exposed to the virus too. Everybody dey scare. But they should have attended to you to curtail the spread. |

JamParkMe:Dont know why we behave this way.the test kit are not enough.going about all those hospital exposes oneself to the disease. Why do we continue to look for what is not missing.the symptom is similar to any other ailment so if you are not expose why test.please let seat in one place and forget all these child play and notice me.this thing is real and sometimes deadly |

Thank goodness the virus did not have vaccine yet, only the few connected people will be able to access it in Nigeria, some will even get it for their unborn children while the real patients can't find a way to it. If they denied you testing it was their loss, just go into self-isolation if you think you are exposed and your family members might be infected, you will see the symptoms yourself in few days. |

But Davido successfully took 32 asymptomatic people along for testing? There was a country![quwote author=JamParkMe post=87904332]That person seeking a test right now is an unserious fellow. They are only testing those with symptoms such as fever, cough and body aches who may have been exposed to an infected person. There are very limited number of testing kits to go around, so yes of course screening is selective. Even in America and Europe, they are only testing people with symptoms, so why did your friend think he can just get tested like that?[/quote] |

Shut up and stop saying what you don't know. In those countries you mentioned, they're testing anyone who comes forward. JamParkMe: |

JamParkMe:Do they know if the person has come in contact with an infected person? They should first interview the person and ask some relevant questions before deciding whether he should be tested or not rather than avoiding the person. |

JamParkMe:But our useless politicians can test as many times as they wish even their family members And why didn't they (NCDC) make it clear to them, why directing them from here to there each office absolving themselves of their duties without no concrete info or explanation Anyone defending this should have his head seriously investigated. |

nams77:do you know that this same malaria that is easily treated here kills asians easily? people need tounderstand that different races respond to different viruses differently. if we are to be realistic with our se;ves , we will know that by now this virus don spread to like 30% of naija population but people are not just showing symptoms |
| Re: Trying To Get Tested For Coronavirus By NCDC In Abuja: An Experience by Toxay(m): 7:35am On Mar 30, 2020 |
saajus:Nigeria has a young population and most people would not have serious symptoms unlike European countries such as Italy and Spain where people live very old and they have a lot of old people. When it comes to viral diseases like this, the most important factor in surviving is how much resistance your immune system can muster and that's an advantage for a young population like us.Most people with the virus are never really treated, they just stay home and the virus would run its course and go and so most Nigerians would not even need treatment so the effect of the poor health system would be limited. What I am trying to say is I don't think we would have more than 10-15 % mortality rate |

nams77:And you think you are making sense and thinking critically? Even in the UK and other developed countries they don't test anybody that presents for a test. To test anyone, there need to be a criteria. You can read my replies to my earlier mentions. |

Seun:That is because nobody is getting tested! There is community transmission going on already. I have a friend on self isolation, he was I'm contact with a returnee. He couldn't get tested. He only went on isolation when he started coughing. Who knows how many people he has infected before isolating |

yomi007k:Must it be only those who have travel history?. If the mode of transmission as widely believed is anything to go by, then we don't need to strictly test only those that have travel history. |

JamParkMe:Are you sure you read that post before commenting? If you don't know were you can be tested now you don't have symptoms, is it when you're as good as dead that you will be attended to? He ask the man in question what the procedure was but he referred him to non existing facility. Was Choima, Davido and son having the symptoms before they where tested? If you like don't stay at home you hear. |
