Rivers State lock down trapped me in Port Harcourt as I was about to return to base in Awka. Everywhere is locked down in Port Harcourt. Restaurants shut, fastfoods shut, hunger set in to 90 degrees.

I actually made moves, when I got to the boundary around Elele, stern looking combined team of army and police stationed were turning people back. Despite my contacts within the corridors of power in Rivers state, they never listened to me. I retreated back to PH, locked myself inside the hotel room, thinking of the next moves as my phone kept ringing, wifey was so worried about me.

I drove out of my hotel room where I have been trapped for almost a week now, I went round town, nothing to eat. Then I went to Market Square in GRA, see how people queued to enter the mall. It was like those experience one usually see back then at US embassy in Lagos.

In a nutshell, hunger could kill faster than Coronavirus. Let fastfoods, restaurants open for business.

Mods push this so that restaurants could open for some of us that can't cook. Thank you

This is like a war time..

Chicken republic close to the marketsquare you took a picture of was open yesterday.

People are leaving and coming in through Imo river 500 per head (canoe) grin

The lock down makes no sense more people will die of hunger than their virus.

I wish you are here to understand the situation. There's no even ordinary gala seller and coke seller on the streets. Roasted plantain and fish are equally out of the streets. There's a very powerful task force that moves around PH to make sure that food vendors or roadside food vendors are flushed out or even arrested for flaunting government order.

I normally don't eat those roadside foods, but my guy the situation is getting out of hand, if I see roasted plantain and fish I go eat now

Wrong. You don't know PH that's why. Bole joints in rumumasi and elakahia, town and diobu and numerous others places as well as low key restaurants are still open.

The situation to me is being mismanaged.

Stopping people from accessing food and food itemes is madness.

Our leaders should be cautiouse of starving the masses to death as stockpiling of foods is only possible to few.

If you stay in Port Harcourt, you can still order for your food items online at Jumia or Konga. They offer free same day delivery in Lagos and Abuja. I am not sure whether free delivery extended to Port Harcourt.

Please don’t mislead those outside port Harcourt with wrong information. There are lots of eatries up and running in the city. All genesis branches except the head office, and all Kilimanjaro, pepperoni and chicken republic branches are open. The only restaurants closed are those in Spar and Genesis head office. And I think only verified information should be allowed to make front page here. A window was given before the closure of the state border if you really wanted to leave you would have done that during the window.

Chino,You are having difficulties getting things coz u are stocked in a secluded part of PH.Every one knows GRA only happens at night and dry during the day.I can imagine how it will be now there are restrictions.

Thanks brother. I have actually seen food at market Square, they have mini food court inside the mall. For now that's the only place in GRA where you can get manageable takeaways.

But why don’t you know how to cook

Use jumia foods to order any food you want and they'll deliver it to your doorstep.btw, the lockdown is being enforced strictly and it took me several minutes of explanation and calls to some highly places people to get into ph today even with an executive fiat from the governor that i showed the security guys at the border.

At market Square, they sell rice, native soup, egusi, okro soup, and other type of meals. They also have snacks, magpie, cake, etc. Its only takeaway they sell here.
