I could take you up on that proposition.

The system is rigged with systemic deep rooted corruption and and sharp practices. To be a politician in Nigeria you have to literally sell your soul to the devil.

The second MAJOR PROBLEM is that the electorate currently do not think that integrity, truth, righteousness and honesty are attributes that are essential for political office.

That's why a confirmed and convicted corrupt former governor who pleaded guilty in UK court is welcomed back to Delta state like someone who has been given a knight hood by the Queen or more. I am Talking about Ibori.

The reality is if he could contest for governor of Delta state, he would probably win. That shows the perversity of our politics and the electorate.

We have a very long way too go.

As it stands it's considerably easier for me to contest to become an MP in the UK parliament than it is for me to contest state house of assembly in my own state.

A good person can't run or lead Nigeria or Nigerians, take it or leave it.

Even if you are good, with time, they will screw you over.

A country where majority are bad can't have good leaders.

This is the truth, you can only argue with your Shadow on this.

Naira is a weightless currency that amounts to nothing when taken abroad, they want to con him of his salaries.

Aren't they going to pay him in the naira equivalent of his salary?

He can easily change the currency to dollar of euro in Nigeria if he so wishes..

sorry to say this sir...

you should be ashame of yourself for asking me that naughty question.

let me tell you this....just the fact that some peeps chosed not to be deceived and always voice out the truth and take a stand against bad governance does not mean they should be asked to via for the seat of power

not everyone will be in governance but the few who finds their way there should do the right thing and not go there live on treasury and neglect their primary respect.

hope you've seen how the government of CHAD is tackling boko haram to the extent that the boko haram commander now turns to an inspirational speaker

you should take time visit front page and read reasonable news and read views of knowledgable folks with all due respect sir please don't mean to insult you....it seems when it comes to governance and politics you really need to learn much.

rather than tackle what I said to b true or not you're telling me to go contest all because you're comfortable in mediocrity and also quoting me to see what's happening in the Uk must you compare yourself with less of them and take it as your best

please I don't really insult you...please don't take it in that light...just hate when we shy away from the truth

I don't need all your apology of not insulting me . They have of no usefulness...

You keep attacking the government because you think everything is easy ..
You sound like you could do better if you were in the position of power...
And I'm telling you to venture into politics and win elections and try and correct some of the wrongs in the society.. if you can't do that, then you will spend the rest of your life complaining, because as it is,the country doesn't appear like it will get better anytime soon..

We need people like you who know how to govern well at the helms of affairs, don't you think so?

PS: I'm no fan of Buhari and his government. The few posts I've made on nairaland regarding politics can prove that... I just don't like people who whine and complain endlessly about issues that they can correct themselves but chose not to.. You are clearly one of those people...

If he can't "nurture" players as the head coach/general manager like Bonfere Jo, Westerholf and co did, he should hit the highway. He's not being forced to take it.

Too many partiality for anything not black in this damn country!

He's been working on his terms for 3 years, so he's in a better position to know if this is okay by him or not. He's been given a week to review the contract.

He's an adult
He knows what is good for him.

Enough of all these preferential treatment for anything "foreign" in this country!

Thats a delusional proposition that's without any iota of substance. Can you expatiate as well as substantiate.

This is not the youth team where the term "nurture" is tenable not in the senior national team.

You are selected by merit not by nurturing.

Where do the best players from Nigeria play and where are you going to select from.

We have a two tier system where there is African cup based on home based players. Those players are by merit selected if proven to show quality. However, most just couldn't rise up to the standard.

It's not the job of the national team coach to nurture players it's his job to SELECT by merit.

Stay in Nigeria and nuture players Every country is picking their best players and we want the national team coach to sit in Nigeria and nuture players.

It took Keshi 18 months to get some players to a decent level to play for the super eagles. And there was no long term benefit. 18 whole months. And some players ran away at the first chance of a European contract.

Fix the league and you will not need anyone nuturing players. The players will be nutured by their clubs.

Agreed without reservation or question

My brother, thought I am the only one on this. People that complains about everything concerning their government irritates me, the men that does such are not different from a nagging wife.
See, let me tell you, when I was growing up, basically in secondary school, I always told myself that when the time comes I will cause revolution in Nigeria and kill all our bad politicians, but along the line, these narratives started changing when because of my will to change everything for the better I ventured into politics and started mingling with the "big" politicians, then my thoughts concerning Nigeria society and politicians actually changed...the people, I mean the Nigeria masses are the problem, not just the politicians because these politicians were first Nigerians before they became politicians in Nigeria. There is no different between a buhari that I and so many of us thought would changed things because we thought he was strong but has thus far showed to be a weakling and a taxi driver that traffic light clearly tells to stop but chose to beat traffic. I have travelled and stayed in 2 other Africa countries and I must say Nigerians seems to be the worst when it comes to adhering to social etiquette and values. An average ghanian on the street hardly steal or rape or beat traffic, compare to an average Nigerian. So, with what I have seen, those blaming and complaining about today present government will do worst when the opportunity is bestowed on them.
Let me leave you with this example, there is a house of assembly member in my state, he is my ward leader, do you know almost 90% of those in this same ward and the constituent he is representing relies on him and goes to him on daily basis for financial help? An ordinary HOA member whose basic monthly salary isn't up to 500k and if he fails to answer majority of those that comes to him, he will be tagged a failure, not doing what he was elected to do and he will even be insulted that he went to HOA and couldn't build for himself a mansion, a hotel and some other stuffs. So tell me how this man won't want to end up stealing and becoming corrupt just to pacify his constituent and ward that glory on his neck on daily basis? See bro, the Nigeria society has become bastardized, that's why I don't complain anymore whenever our politicians do wrong because even the once you will elect to question, arrest and jail these politicians ends up doing worst. So oga humility, you have to stop complaining because it won't change anything, or better still you can come in and change things for the better since you feel you know and can do better.

I don't play Ostrich, what foreign coaches get in Nigeria, they hardly give same to local coaches. We know all these

They get preferential treatment, prove me wrong by comparing all our coaches employed so far.

As for nurturing, I doubt they want him to USE home base by force, I doubt that but if that is included in the contract (want you to prove that), then he should walk away.

No one is putting a gun to his head.

If our football becomes worse due to this, we know who to hold responsible!

The pertinent question is Why❓

Tell me just one Nigerian coaches who has the same proven tested experiential competence acquired from the top leagues of Europe❓❓

We are talking about objective merit and not sentimental preference.

As a consequence foreign coaches will have a clear objective based advantage based on qualification.

That doesn't mean to say a Nigerian coaches cannot do the job. But they lack the qualification and experiential competence and as a consequence they loose out.

Why can't Nigerian coaches after playing in Europe get thier badges and get experience. Look at Kole Toure assistant to Brendan Rogers. He is getting good experience and showing himself competent.

So l don't think they are given undue and unjustified preference as you claim. But have q clear proven competency based advantage.

This is the kind of thinking that has stifled out progress as a nation. Because l am from a particular state, LG, tribe l become entitled not by the competence of merit. But nepotism and favoritism based on sentiment.

That's the enthronment of mediocrity.

Finally, you do not nurture players for the national team you select players based on merit.

The President, Major-General Muhamadu Buhari (retd.), has given approval for the withdrawal of $150m from the Sovereign Wealth Fund for distribution to the three tiers of government.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this on Monday, in Abuja during a media briefing on the fiscal policy measures to tackle the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the economy.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the engagement of 774, 000 Nigerians on Special Public Works programme in the country to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.

Am I the only one boiling with the latest headlines?

You can imagine transporting test samples from Kaduna to Abuja to test for Covid-19. Instead of the current FG to think of improving our defence against this deadly virus, they are still talking of rubbish.

I am shocked and angry.

I remember when FIFA sanctioned us when FG was interfering with the association or was it federation then.

FIFA rule states that they must be independent, and any interference from government leads to sanctions

You know the answer
They make More money from employing foreign coaches

How many black coaches are in Europe?
BTW, we have more than 5 Nigerian coaches with Europe/FIFA badges and some have also managed clubs in Europe

BTW, does Rohr qualify for the same standard you expect of your fellow black?

Is Rohr also with the experimental experience of a top league? He coached which club again and how many years ago?

Does that mean he should work from his home country and earn in foreign currency or what exactly is your point?
You should know this but my message is not pro local coach, so no need deviating.

My points is that he can reject the offer if he thinks he can't work with the conditions.
