Thank you. I have something troubling me. Would it be nice using my brother as main sponsor and my dad as co-sponsor? can I have two co-sponsors (dad and sis). There is more money in my brother's account compared to my dad's account.

I have decided to register the business name as you suggested so that I can utilize my 6M statement of account for the process but alternatively, can I just send the 6M to my dad and use him as main sponsor?

Feel free to ask me any question.

Make sure your brother list out his defendants in his affidavit of support and he should also say the amount he pays for their school fees for each of the defendants yearly, that’s if he’s married and has kids. You must be included in his dependents.

Your pops should also do the same as a cosponsor and he should write a letter stating he’s the cosponsor and he’s capable of sending you money when the need may be.

You can go ahead to register for your business and do the necessary in your application.

Your financial strength is good cause it’s from a direct family. And of course you can have 2 co-spnsors

Hi guys, I am 29years old and married with no formal education. I am planning on writing GCE exam later this year as well as other exams required for me to gain an undergraduate admission into a Canadian uni. What are my chances of getting a study permit?

I have another question. Please pardon me. Regarding sponsoring my education, which of these below would give me a better chance?

1. Moving money from my account (6M) and from my brother's account (8M) to my dad's account and using my dad as the main sponsor. My dad's flow for the past 4 months period should be up to 30M (debit and credit). My dad has a business and two houses and also land. While using my dad as a main sponsor, my sibling in the USA would act as the co-sponsor.

2. Using my brother as main sponsor with account statement of about 10M, has a business with yearly cash flow traffic of up to 100M but has no landed property. Using my bro as main sponsor, I intend using my dad as co-sponsor. Then I intend registering a business and stating my personal account balance of 6M.

Which one would give me a better chance in securing the visa?

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

I have followed your queries closely and I saw that Austacus already proffered wise counsel to your situation. In my take, stick to the original place of using your brother main sponsor and father as co-sponsor, so option two is more considerable.

As Austacus as advised, go ahead and register your business which will justify your personal funds and level of establishment in Nigeria. The properties and other economic establishment of your father will cover thatbof your brother and you since both of you are his biological children.

Outside your sponsors fund and other areas to be scrutinized by the VO, the funds in your own personal account creates a perspective of financial sufficiency to the VO handling your application. All you should do is to ensure that the necessary documents are included to provide force for your application.

In an extended viewpoint, if possible, your brother should try to up his closing balance to 10m plus your own closing balnace of 6m, your father acting as a co-sponsor would worry less of his closing balance, irrespective of the amount. This would be more realistic considering the duration of your program and if the tuition fees of the first year/semester as been set aside. However, your LE won't be a bother since your account reads exceedingly over the required amount.

All the best

Wes has nothing to do with your transcripts both unofficial and official is from your school

Hello Strongwind1960,

They do, if they evaluated your academic credentials. This gives the option of either requesting it (evaluated academic credentials) directly from them or the school for any subsequent use.

Thank you. Can you help with a better approach of sending mails to supervisors. Between for fall session application deadline was April 1.

Is there any other way around this.
NwanyiOkpa:

Let me be honest.

If you have not gotten any supervisor then I guess they are either trying to help you find one or they are typing your regret mail. It is best to source for supervisors by yourself but if you can't, it is a good option to switch to a course-based masters. You will get admitted within two weeks.

I am talking from personal experience.

Thank you
Strongwind1960:

All you need is called unofficial transcript that needs to be certified by a law court or notary public officer, you will have them certify photocopies of your original documents(transcripts, certificates, waec, academic documents) and scan along with your visa app documents to the embassy using the online route or papper route but because of the pandemic the online route is your best bet now.
It is only your school will send your original transcripts to the school there in Canada that gave you admission and not to the embassy.

All the best.

There is no specific format.

Just make it formal.

Paragraph 1: Dear Dr. __________,

I hope this mail finds you well. I am... your name, degree qualification and research interest (it should tally with the interest of your potential supervisor)

Paragraph 2: Give reasons why you are the best fit to be awarded the supervision. If you have taken standardized tests, state your scores and if you have research experience, also state them. Your undergraduate final year project is part of the research experience. You can include it. State valuable work experience.

Paragraph 3: Thank him for his time and anticipate hearing from him.

Attach Transcript, Standardized test results, statement of purpose, Recommendation letter from previous supervisors or lecturers

I hope this mail finds you well. I was going through the faculties list and i found your profile. I am a graduate of___________ with a dire interest in (insert research area). Having read your articles and publications, I believe that your supervision would be a great way to improve my research skill.

My name is _________... In preparation for graduate school, I have taken courses in_______ and i have also taken the mandatory TOEFL exam where i scored_____.

Just follow this format using the instruction i gave. There is no particular sequence to follow. Just convey your message and try not to follow that my sample because i believe other people would copy it. I just wanted to show you that it's something that can easily be drafted. I just typed that one off hand.

I hope it helps. Goodluck!

You can also browse for samples online. I wish i could share my personal template but because of plagiarism, I won't. I hope you understand.

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

I think due to the nature of cryto trading, a Limited business would be ideal than just registering it as a Buisness Name.

This is of the view when compared that operating a business name is really easy and cheapest to start business whilst Limited company is much safer to operate financially. I am not adept with too much knowledge in this but with my limited idea on business, a Limited will be more suitable. However, both will suffice in any weather condition, with the final decision on you to decide.

All the best.

Hello house.... Is like Canada has reduced the study permit application processing time to 7 weeks from 8weeks for Nigerians.

I thought it should increase due to CONVID-19, yet it reduced.

Then how come they have not gotten back to some people since.

Yes, all the documents you listed are spot on.

In a nutshell, the visa officer needs you to convince him/her that you are a genuine student.

Congratulations to you!
I applied for the MA Sociology program. I emailed the faculty secretary 5th of March and she said my application is with the Graduate Committee for review and I will be notified once a decision has been made.
