it’s possible especially for mental health nursing as there’s no much (biology) involved. Approach unis with a well written personal statement showing ur understanding of the 5 C’s of nursing and how you will implement them as a nurse.

Yes spouse visa counts of course I was just responding with the context for the earlier message. Study visa does not count towards 10 years. I’m constantly researching and reading about residency. Don’t worry I will attach the link from the government website soon

*You cannot start class if you have not paid the 50% balance o.* Yes you can travel but you will not be able to enrol if you have not paid up that 50%. My friend said the immigration officer even asked him to show the tuition balance at the airport. *He showed them 50% balance and his father’s statement with the rest.* Let’s give accurate information pls.

All schools are not the same. Some schools have flexible payment system.

Which airport was ur friend asked to show the 50% balance? Departure or arrival at the UK? If it is in the UK, did he show them the already printed statement from Nigeria or did he log into his banking app to show them the balance in his account? I know they were not expecting him to travel with such cash.

As you can see in the photo and even going with what you said about 8 years max, is still not possible to reach 10 years via study route. Let’s be realistic please

Usually u must have fulfilled the university criteria (deposit of £2k in this case) before they issue u with CAS. This CAS will indicate how much ur tuition is, how much u have paid and how much is left. The same CAS will be used to apply for ur visa.

Now at point of entry, u could be lucky just random questions and they will let u in. On the other end, they might ask for ur CAS and to show proof of the balance.

Phenmeson:

Those are the points that needs to be explain properly by anyone already in the university or with similar situation because getting question about the 50% balance at point of Entry is critical. Just want to have clear mind if the payment of £2000 can get someone in the country without any assault

OK.

At point of entry if they ask for proof of funds, what should the person show?

Bro don’t confuse ursef. If you study in the UK and ur immigration status changes afterwards (e.g you got married), the number of years u have stayed LEGALLY will count towards ur 10 year route leading to indefinite leave to remain.

The picture u attached is about graduate immigration route

Nice one. However, the period you are on a study visa and PSW visa does not count onto 5 year settlement route.

However, the study visa and PSW visa only counts towards 10 year settlement route.

Settlement route depends on the student. He/she needs to determine wot settlement route to take.

Bank statements used during visa application or any other means to proof fund availability.

Except something is fishy, they don’t usually disturb students at POE. Being confident and consistent with answers are very important.

I was wondering. I know whatever document we submitted for visa application, we should also have handy when traveling.

Even study visa or PSW does not count towards 10 years route & you cannot study for more than 5 years at a stretch. Else rich men kids will do foundation 1 year, bachelors 4 years, masters 2 years and phd 3 years with 1 year stayback after the phd and get residency for their kid.
Check immigration reports or documents you will understand better. Only work visa counts towards residency. It’s only Eu countries like Estonia Poland etc that your year of study counts towards residency and it’s calculated with 0.5. So if you studied in Poland for 4 years, only 2 years will count but NOT FOR U.K. Let’s advise accurately

I think you are contradicting yourself by saying study visa and psw doesn’t count towards the 10 yrs route, and also citing an example with rich men kids that study on a long stretch and get residency.

With no PSW it very difficult and almost impossible due to the maximum duration, especially if you are not joining spouse and other Visa type but with PSW it possible .

I do know a couple of people who got it through 10 years a while ago. The 10 years doesnt discriminate if its student or not . Just be legal for 10 years

Ok but it’s tough sticking to visa terms eg 20 hours a week if you plan to work and pay tuition balance. At the end of the day only 10% actual gets PR through that route because they’ve kept to all TERMS.

Yes it is possible. Try University of Hertfordshire MSc Adult Nursing. It is a 2 years program though as you have no prior background.

Thanks for your response

So this interprets as graduate immigration visa holder will need to spend 5 further years on a Tier 2 (General) visa holder to qualify for indefinite leave to remain, or alternatively hope holder can accumulate enough lawful residence to apply under the 10-year long residence route.

So what are the possible ways one can stay in the uk for ten years legally
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by lander237: 3:09pm On Apr 14, 2020
The 10 year route to settlement (otherwise called Indefinite Leave to Remain, ILR) is based on 10 years of LAWFUL/LEGAL residency in the UK, IRRESPECTIVE of the type of visa (of course, excluding visit visas and other short-stay visas).

For example, it could be like so:
1. 7 years on Tier 4 visa + 3 years on marriage visa = 10 years lawful residence
2. 6 years Ter 4 visa + 4 years limited/discretionary leave to remain (visa based on family and private life) = 10 years lawful residence.
3. it can even be 5 years tier 4 + 3 years work visa + 2 years marriage visa = 10 years lawful residence.

Conclusion: as long as you have been in the UK for 10 years legally, you qualify.

I didn’t knw about the accreditation wahala until after my MSc when I started applying for jobs. I don’t want people to fall in the same pit I did, hence my emphasis

Hello Omopapa, please can you throw more light on your accreditation experience? What happened after your MSC? ..and what did you do to sort yourself out. Please I would be expecting a reply from you. Thanks.

Looked up the old PSW visa requirements and says similar to what you've uploaded. You and I both have heard or known a few people who benefited from the old visa using the 10 year route.

Hope this clears any doubts. Cheers baba wink

I thought my MSc would be enough to get me registered with HCPC. I was wrong.

I had to have my BSc degree assessed by UK NARIC (£30 or so)

Sent my qualifications (BSc and MSc) including transcripts, module descriptors and UK NARIC statement of comparability to IBMS for assessment (about £280)

IBMS advised to do 2 topup modules.

2 topup modules (online) from IBMS ACCREDITED university £2200

After then you can apply to HCPC if you already have experience. If you don’t, you have to apply for trainee band 5 to compete a registration portfolio which will finally lead to being registered with HCPC.

At the point of applying for ILR following the 10yrs route, how do they check if a person had kept the 20hrs per week work rule?
I am guessing its through the NIN. Am I right?

The screenshot you uploaded is outdated, PSW will count with the combination of other type of visas though you are right about 10yrs route through study visa, that is not possible.

I dunno but they have a way of checking. If you broke the rule, they will surely find out. No two ways about it

Please can you tell us the MSc course and university so we can discourage people from applying there.

For medical line, ensure your couurse is accredited by IBMS fir biosciences and medical laboratory science and NIMC for nursing.
