I love people like you who argue against facts and figures without bringing forward any superior facts. Even after presenting you with the original source of the statistics, you are still blindly and childishly arguing that it's impossible for 7,000 Nigerians to have obtained Canada study visa in a year. I wonder how someone like you can can convince a visa officer that you qualify for a visa, because some questions that come during visa interviews are ones that an intelligent applicant could have already sourced from the same internet that you swore never to inform yourself with.

Just imagine a country that is still struggling to provide 24 hrs power supply for its citizens in the year 2020?
Can you imagine a country that still has to export its crude oil to foreign countries to be refined only to import it again?
Nigeria is just a funny place ....in fact...Nigerians are a funny and bizarre people.

Landed immigrant is your best option. If you go on a tourist visa, you will not be able to work. And will have to work on a cash basis or find an employer that will pay you under the table. It is not worth it, you will live like a slave-go through the legal route.
I have a friend who went to UK on tourist visa, and now working with his brother's papers. I fear there could be consequences for this.

And that is why we have strict visa requirements and the rejection rate is extremely high at the various embassies. They know the format because they keep data on all these things. They know 70% of Nigerian applicants at the embassy have no plans of coming back and that is why they have several legal options you can explore to relocate permanently.

When Nigerians take short-cuts or lie in their applications, you end up ruining it for the rest that want to travel, study or legally migrate with legitimate reasons and documents.

Why is it citizens of Botswana can travel to Ireland and United Kingdom visa free? They follow the rules and the data they have shows that.
We have to find a way to earn back our trust. We used to be able to travel to many western countries without visas, that changed in the 80's when we started to overstay our tourist visas.

A few years ago, Namibians can enter Canada visa-free, but due to abuse, it was abolished. Though Namibian passport is still stronger than the Nigerian one, it goes to show what abuses can do to a country. There is also a big difference in treatment when I traveled with my Naija documents as opposed to a western one, and it's not a good one.

Nigeria is one of the worst countries in the world to reside as a human , you are left to fend for yourself without government providing the basic functions such as water, healthcare, education, security and electricity. A country where security is only guaranteed to the rich businessmen and corrupt politicians that can afford armed escorts.

Chai! See someone who possibly has not been to any or so much country saying Nigeria is one of the worst place to live.

Nigerians have been complaining since time immemorial about poor infrastructure and corrupt governance which means simply complaining is not enough. In countries like Canada, if a political goes as far as steal one kobo, the people will go out in droves and demand the resignation of that politician. This active participation from the people will never occur in Nigeria over something like that. A nation is in-part a reflection of its people and the ills of a nation is due in-part to the complicit nature of the people's character. Many Nigerians are thief-enablers and are too divided on sectarian and tribal politics to see the bigger picture. The day Nigerians stand united and reject APC and PDP, and elect people who are motivated to serve the average Nigerian interests; that is the day Nigeria will truly be free.

There are several legal pathways for Nigerians to obtain permanent residency in Europe,Asia,Africa,South America,Australia and North America .Here are six ways to obtain legal stay:

-Work permit-Permanent residency
-Asylum
-Graduate student-permanent residency
-Marriage
-Landed immigrant
-Citizenship by Investment

I was able to get my permanent residency through the student route in Canada. I graduated and had to obtain 1 year of work experience before I was able to file for permanent residence.

Living illegally in any country can make your life a living hell and you will always be looking over your shoulders and subject to blackmail when you find jobs that pay under the table.

It is important to choose a country which makes obtaining a permanent residency easy for foreigners. And not make the mistake of spending millions of naira on countries that like to do chop and clean mouth with your tuition and other money you invested in the country, only to make it near impossible to obtain legal papers to stay there permanently. The two countries that are most friendly to immigration currently are Canada and Australia, unfortunately they are out of reach financially for most people intending to migrate and have stricter requirements..

Hey bruh, how did you go about ur student route? i.e. how did u get student visa in d first place? pls share ur experience, lt might help a brother

I would advise everyone considering residency to face Canada or Australia as most other countries aren’t as straight forward.

I came for my masters in 2011 on a student visa.

Then it expired in 2011 so i applied for two years post study visa which allows you to work full time.

To get my British citizenship,I went through the Iltr(Indefinite leave to remain)5year route
That means you need to have spent at least 5years in the United Kingdom minus student visa and postgraduate study visa.

I applied with form An and submitted;
-My Nigerian passport so they could check travel history.
-My Brp card.
-My life in the uk test.
-My uk Masters certificate.
-Letter from employer and p69 slips for the last 5years
-Paid £1400 for application and Biometrics.

(Came in 2010 and got British citizenship in 2020 so took me 10years).

You can say that again. People think that life in the 1700s and 1800s was a walk in the park. Imagine relocating to a place like Canada in the early 1800s and building a society from scratch, with winter temperatures dropping to -40C or lower and no electric heater in your house, or making sure that you get your farming right in the short warm seasons else you would starve to death. Consider what it was like to build roads, bridges or even houses in subzero temperatures or blazing summer heat with the "low tech" and skill available at that time. Virtually all of the North American immigrants in the early 1900s relocated without any welfare support from the government ( it did not exist at that time), - very many people today would not consider making such a move if such "support" was not available.

There are many things that people take for granted today that the early settlers made possible and I can only shake my head in disappointment when I read comments that reek of entitlement

You are right. I've thought about this many times. I'll recommend a book, titled "Gun, germ and steel" by Jared Diamonds. It explained the way different societies evolved and trace geopolitical problems to the extremity of the climates. The writer posits that a society innovates when its existence is threatened, and a society that doesn't face such imminent extinction has no reason or motivation to do so.

In Africa, been homeless will not kill you. In European countries like Sweden, it definitely will. If you also observed, the coldest countries are the most developed and forward-thinking. So it is arguable that Africa remains underdeveloped because it doesn't have to be, to survive.

I forgot to add that in. For example you can buy a Botswana citizenship for $93,000 dollars. Their passport is visa free to UK,Ireland,Hong Kong,Singapore and many other countries. Many fantastically corrupt Nigerian politicians use their loot to buy citizenship of countries that offers visa free travel around the world.
What's with you and fantastically corrupt sef? No be only Nigeria that is fantastically corrupt. Even the UK is, same as the US.

Hello chief... Can you please explain the landed immigrant process a bit further?

I have a degree, I have the funds and I have over 3 years experience... the NOC for my occupation is 1215 which fall in skill B...

I have looked at the express entry and some PNP programs but my score falls below 400 in express entry so that route looks impossible to scale through for me. The PNP looks like it will best fit those who have a job offer already or those who schooled in Canada or have relatives there cos those factors boost points and I don't have any of those.

So, is the landed immigration another avenue one can try? Cos I don't understand what it really means.

Please put me through.

God bless you.

Pls how do I check out for the NOC of my job?

Forget U.K. o. No matter how you try getting PR is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Brits are very selfish and conny. I have never heard or seen in person that studied in the U.K., and got PR eventually except they married a citizen or some sort.
Actually that’s not true.
Yes you can get by marrying a British citizenship but there are other routes too.
I got my percent residency after 10years and i didn’t marry anyone to do it.
They just need you to be truthful and submit the correct documentation that’s all.
