Imo state money...

Before he became a governor, this was a guest house called lamonde guest house....He became a governor grabbed people's property and converted to his, upgraded and boom! its willow wood hotel.

While his in-law owns westwood close to the oputa court building.

Ndi riri Imo state without change.

Okorocha was a scam artist before he became governor, he had nothing then, but looted Imo state for 8yrs to become rich. This is the reason entire Imo state is in shambles today.

Yes, it's true. I've logged there before, not far from fmc owerri along orlu road. Thenplace receives low patronage due to the high rate charged...with the facilities its got, it's worth it though

Yes, i actually lodged there twice. I even prefer it to this one. There's just something about it.
Exactly bro. I prefer it to that one. I've also lodged there on 3 different occasions, it was 10k then, went there last December and they've increased the price to 12k as per the other hotels standard room, reason being that people are now aware of the place. Another thing is, Yahoo boys dey full the one Op posted, if not that it's owned by Rochas, SARS for dey burst the place steady.

Keep deceiving yourself...You know nothing abt that, An area where I grew up.

That area is called shell camp junction, before high court...Go and check your facts.

Roaches, sorry I mean Rochas Okorocha was strikingly rich before he became governor. Very very rich Nigga. I am however surprised that he got to government house and looted again.

chatinent:
Imo state people's sweat as a hotel.

Not condoning polithiefcians, but to be real - building hotels here employs people - builders, hotel staff, security, etc... so in a way it's recycling the public money back to (a smaller number of) the public.

At least our thieves are getting wise - if you put money in bank abroad nowadays, it can get confiscated at any freaking time. But if you build locally... there are strings you can pull to retain the property. grin

I agree they should start building world-class hospitals too... but the profit margins are way higher in hotels. Plus, people typically settle hotel bills right away. Not those who will be owing the hospital for months. I wonder if the current pandemic will start them in this direction.

Its high time ban is placed on any political office holder travelling out for medical treatment. It should be one of the things you should sign before assuming office. Let make this place a home. Okorocha drained IMO with straw yet no punishment. He was denied given certificate only for him to say he will talk and they immediately called him to come and take. Abba died without his wealths. Let's learn and know what follows after death.

Abagworo:

That man Okorocha has received so much insult simply because he became Governor. That Hotel might be older than you commenting here sef ask Afam. In 2013 the then opposition accused the Governor of paying his Hotel Staff from government purse and this was the response

https://www.thenigerianvoice.com/amp/news/125502/rochas-lamonde-hotels-staff-receive-salaries-from-imo-stat.html

He had at least 5 such Hotels before he became Governor including 2 in Owerri.

Its 100% true.... I was schooling in owerri then and I know very close people who worked there.... He have DAT building in orji before getting to office but it was an abandoned building and d one along orlu road is an abandoned bungalow on one plot of land but go and see what u have there today, he even took over a government property along DAT road... Go to Royal spring palm hotel a 96 flat hotel along akachi road off aba road and u will ask God to punish him.. Get ur facts right
