Dogs know good and bad. The way we trained our Caucasian dog , if she does anything good,I spoil her silly . If she does bad , I will carry a cane which I always keep on the roof of her cage and call her name. Once she sees me with the cane I will tell her to go to her cage, normal level, she knows she will chop cane die. So ,she will carry me to run round the compound, the moment my eye change she will enter her cage and go to the extreme end and fold up. At that moment, I will tell her what she did and spank her, funny enough I don’t spank her beyond two soft strokes to remind her that we own her and she must obey us.Most times I carry whatever she destroys to her face while I spank her. In terms of pooing in restricted places, I willl take her there and show her then spank her there. I will then release her to her cage where she will go and reflect on her wrong doings. Most of them, she never repeated after that treatment.
We lost her recently and I cried like a human being died. She was a companion and a friend, a dog with the heart of a child. She could sense emotions (pain and happiness)[/quote
What killed her if may ask?

lock him in his cage, don't feed him for 2days or maybe a day and half.....let him know u are in charge. No more unnecessary play with him. Restrict his movement. And shun him with strict tone whenever he is passing his boundary. When u want to give him his food also, let him do what u want him to do before putting d food down. For now restrict him to his cage, stop letting him into ur house. Correct his thinking. Rott are mad ooo. Once Dy see they have gotten a hang of u, they will keep threatening you. Even threaten you to serve them. They are mad like that

His recent behaviour can also be attributed to his romantic affairs with Matilda, your chicken. He's just trying to impress her.

My dog finds it so easy to embarrass me before the world, as I said before in one of the thread here, she's now a full-blown lesbian, and I am currently looking for buyers.

I have a one and a half year old Rottweiler named Gift and I don't understand him anymore. We can't chastise him again when he misbehaves because he bares his teeth and growls menacingly at us if we try to spank him for being naughty. He welcomes us when we come home like any loyal, loving pet, but yesterday he shocked me. Usually as we are about to enter the house he playfully holds one foot down so we can't enter, or he jumps on you and hugs you tight so you can't move. When I got back from work yesterday I was exhausted and I didn't have energy for his play so I hugged him briefly but as I entered the house I mistakenly stepped on his right hindpaw.

He howled, left me, and lunged at me, this time to bite me. He actually narrowly missed my arm.

I was mad. I turned and yelled "Gift are you mad?" He bared his fangs and barked at me. Me sef I bared my teeth at him and ordered him to stand down. He growled, me sef I growled back. Do you know this dog kept advancing menacingly at me and barking? I quickly borrowed myself brain and locked the door. Werey dog.

I can't shoo Matilda, my chicken in his presence. He covers her with his body and warns me away. And now, the most perplexing thing is he now marking every where in the compound. My sib came visiting and before he entered the house, he quickly relieved himself outside because he was very pressed. Do you know Gift went to where the dude urinated and peed on top? It has gotten so bad now that Gift entered the house and marked different sections of the corridor and smaller dining area with pee.

Now, I don't know if this is classic Rott behavior or if he is just being indisciplined. I confess we spoilt him a bit because he is such a sweet animal when he is not misbehaving.

How do we discipline a dog that has grown wings? He is well socialised so it's not a case of too much isolation.
Starve him/reduce his food portions and number of times you feed him in a day. BE THE ONLY ONE THAT FEEDS HIM. And if he misbehaves before or during feeding, take the food away.

Incorporate obedience training into his feeding times. He has already assumed alpha while you were dulling. I hope it's not too late to SNATCH it away from him.

Petting time is over.

This is what you get when you domesticate animals. My friends close pal got killed by her dog. The dog bit off her nose. That’s why I can’t keep pets except it’s a new born puppy that I’d train myself. Animals will always be animals and not humans.

OP, I hope u see my reply sha.

If there's anything a Dog (esp rotweiller, pitbul and borboel) fears most na correct long BROOM, Pipe (rubber or glvanized) or hose.
The dog is actually trying to acertain its dominace over you and its marking it territory by scent and urine. The way i see it, u r now a Beta(if not omega sef, cos he cares more about the chicken than u) and he's the Alpha. The only way u can solve this is to get a good rubber hose or broom and beat the hell out of it. Dogs and Wolves are closely related and the only way they relinquish their status is through a fight. Therefore, be prepared for a showdown else, d dog would definitely attack a memeber of ur family or friend. Also, make sure he sits before u give food. U dont need to use a harsh tone/voice to communicate, just get d hose or broom in hand whenever u want to communicate. If he doesnt obey, knack am better beating. If it attacks u, chain it down and beat it hard with d broom. The dog go calm down. This works on all dogs i have dealth with. If u dont mind, i can help u beat it to omega status....E go dey fear every human beingsef

Your dog thinks he's the alpha of the pack. You didn't raise him with enough sense of discipline and knowledge of his place in the pack. It's too late now unless you can arrange for obedience training with an outside expert who knows how to properly repair dog behaviors.

Rotty are not for soft/first-time dog owners. You need to discipline the hell out of that dog. My 2 months pop can be so aggressive, but not to me when I tell him to sleep and he doesn't I take a chair and sit right in front of him, he either goes to bed or he's not moving an inch. I'm the only one he respects, I don't hit him oh, I just make sure I say something and stick to it. Rotty can be very dominant! If you don't take your stand now he will chase you out of your own house. Start from how and when you feed him, make sure he sits and wait for your command else take the food back, and if he barks ignore him, if he miss behaves lock him up in a room you don't use for an hour or 2. This is something you teach your dog at a very early stage.

Transitioning from adolescent to adult? He is an adult.

At least that is what his big, dangling balls suggest...
You need to take action quickly, get a cage for that dog and limit how he enters the house. With this, he will appreciate the privilege he had.
And reduce the way he jumps at you whenever you enter the house. ( give him a cold shoulder)

I tell people when u let a dog become part of your household, always make them get used to a leach(neck rope) ...they are animals and are unpredictable and tieing their neck is way to tame them down,,my dog should be a year old now

When ever I hold his neck she happily gives me her neck to put it on , because I always give her a treat for dat ,even after flogging her ,I still give her a treat ,

I find it difficulty to understand when People tell me my dog will bite me when ever I put rope on his neck ,
Some dog user can't even bath their dog , because of he will bite me ,,,a dog is like train a child and when he is old he will not depart

I take my dog for a walk when it's raining ,so that wen ever they are lost ,they don't get scared of walking down home in the rain ,
I have met lots of dog that go and hid wen it's raining

Ever since he was 3 months bathing him has always been stress, he chews his wooden cage that we had to make a very strong iron cage for him. He's been too aggressive and I don't know what to do again, i just let him be in the cage, and feed him there. As he doesn't get out of the cage due to stubbornness he's nails are now sharp that before he baths he must have given marks all over my hand n legs. Sometimes he succeeds to slip out of my hand and first thing he does is to go fight with the quiet Rottweiler that's on chain or Scooby the bull mastiff. I just fear that one day even at his tender age he'll beat the hell out of his seniors. The other dogs are over 3 years.
