Transitioning from adolescent to adult? He is an adult.
At least that is what his big, dangling balls suggest...
find the dog a mate, his hormones are raging .

I swear.. Same thing. I have a year old Rottweiler too and he's super trained. I got to know he was super obedient when the vet came for the first time four days to inject and drip him cos he had parvo virus..... Even when my dog got stronger.... He'd maintain that position all day until he's done with three drips. He never even attacked the vet doctor. The doc was even surprised at his level of obedience and was even praising us.

Every time we played, I never let him top. He knows he's the beta in the house and oh.. He's an indoor dog. If he needs to poo, he brings his belt to anyone so we'd take him out.

I was trying to force feed his drug to him last week, something he didn't like and heard baba growl.. Gbas gbos, four mighty slaps, baba complied.

It's all about their formative years sha. Khal no dare Lass at anyone at home... He knows what's gon happen next. Lol

Some people just buy dog without understanding how dog thinks ,
A dog is more than just a security dog their reasoning faculty is scattered ,u have to help them rearrange it ,else u become a victim

He can't try it. I will finish him, my beautiful Gift.
By the time he does, the deed must have been done. The dog even respects the chicken more than you. Like someone said, you are now the omega and not even beta.

My advice for you is to sell that dog or take it to where he would be disciplined. From your post, I see that you are quite an emotional person and you are already scared by the way he challenges you. Dogs can sense fear especially guard dogs like rotts. I don't think you have the heart to punish the dog like most people suggested. For you to name a male dog gift and even have a chicken called Mathilda(LoL).

You better resolve the issue now to avoid stories that touches the heart. Your life and those around are at risk around that dog. There are too many stories about how dogs kill their owners especially for ladies and kids. Take care!

He's now the leader of the park.. E don see say e be the oga of the house and the only thing you need to do now is to go for behavioral training unless one day na be complete body you go use tell story for your pikin.

This is the exact answer. Your dog now thinks he is the ALPHA when you should be the Alpha.

I have 2 German Shepherds and I dobermann in my house and I took my time to train them while they were puppies. They know and recognize me as their ALPHA

Op you have made a very big mistake by backing down when your dog challenged your position, now he is the alpha of the house yes!..The way we live in families dogs live in packs and a pack must have a leader whose position most be merited...you may be taking this as a joke but dominant dog breed such as rotts, Boerboels, Caucasians,e.t.c require a firm hand that's why there re nt recommended for first time owners who ll get scared when a dog challenges them...Don't be surprise if your dog attacks you or your family one day.

Correct your mistake show him no fear and spank him to submission next time he challenges you ...tho with his age it may be difficult for you..good luck
You should have also told the OP to wear a body armour during the spanking or else OP should be prepared to receive mega bites. The dog will fight back.

Time to put the leash on him often. Apparently it is a Rott's normal character.

Na the dog go bite am to submission. Just mild spanking, enough to make him see your change in temperament, and yet enough not to send him to defence mode. It's a process, but it works. If you like make mistake, e go finish you. *n/b: rott bite force no be your mate

sell the dog and buy a Chihuahua, a Chow chow or any other smaller breed

Ishlove... Please... Never buy a chihuahua... Never.... Chihuahua's reportedly have more aggression issues than Rottweilers and pits....

The reason we don't hear about them is because they're small and only give little injuries when they lash out. Google search it

You need to show you are alpha always

Infact when you serve food stop him from eating while keeping eye contact

Hold your arm.beteeen him and the food till he lays down roll him on his back and rub his belly this is total submission

The food will be the seasoning your skin deserves . Lol

As a lady or woman or girl, don't ever breed or keep large species of animals as pet, be it dog, cat or whichever.

Go for the small Bunnie.

You cannot discipline that dog, the dog may get aggressive and bite you hard, don't listen to people here. Sell that dog and go for those tiny dogs with large furr

Who told you she can't train the Dog because she is a female? I learned to keep Dogs from my mum, there's no aggressive Dog that she will not beat to stupor. So it depends on the temperament and knowledge of the owner

There is no phase of transiting here, is either the op dominate or He dominate which he is doing , He needs to curb it and start showing he is the boss or else he will have to either sell it or leave with it for the rest of the dog's life, the moment your pet start forming to you and marking even human urine at any slight chance shows the dog is trying to pass a message to them that he is the boss.

Your know dogs well!!.i think the owner has failed to mark his strong authority on the dog.now the dog is the boss.period!

My opinion...your dog sees himself as the pack leader now and you need to change that ASAP. One way I think you can solve this is by not backing out anytime he growls at you or tries to attack you, make the dog summit himself each time you guys are in a fist fight..lol or just get a good training because it not gonna be that easy.

Another option is dropping him be4 it is too late.
Re: My Rott's Naughty Behavior: I Need Advice Please by periphetes: 6:42pm On Apr 25, 2020
Op, Exactly as most people above adviced. You need to train your dog from now to obey command .

Caucasian, borboel, rottweiler's breed become very difficult to manage when they transit into adult without proper training.

Don't be surprised someday you might get bitten or attacked by it , worst of all it may be a family member that gets bitten.

Those listed breeds are tough and lovable to it's owner. But, they require stiff discipline when they are becoming wise.

I wonder what you would have done , if you had a husky breed for a pet? grin grin

This is not the first time your dog behaved in such manner. U would have noticed this while he was still young, like when u feeding him and trying to take the food from him at the same time, you would have noticed him growls. You could have chastised him then.

Well my advice to u will be to give him some command tone which he dare not ignores. Like ensuring he sits before he's served food. And later u can progress to giving command to eat before he eats. If he doesn't u tap is head until he obeys. U have to devote time for this. My little advice.

Dog Lovers, Please I Need Advise On My Rott's Naughty Behavior

I have a one and a half year old Rottweiler named Gift and I don't understand him anymore. We can't chastise him again when he misbehaves because he bares his teeth and growls menacingly at us if we try to spank him for being naughty. He welcomes us when we come home like any loyal, loving pet, but yesterday he shocked me. Usually as we are about to enter the house he playfully holds one foot down so we can't enter, or he jumps on you and hugs you tight so you can't move. When I got back from work yesterday I was exhausted and I didn't have energy for his play so I hugged him briefly but as I entered the house I mistakenly stepped on his right hindpaw.

He howled, left me, and lunged at me, this time to bite me. He actually narrowly missed my arm.

I was mad. I turned and yelled "Gift are you mad?" He bared his fangs and barked at me. Me sef I bared my teeth at him and ordered him to stand down. He growled, me sef I growled back. Do you know this dog kept advancing menacingly at me and barking? I quickly borrowed myself brain and locked the door. Werey dog.

I can't shoo Matilda, my chicken in his presence. He covers her with his body and warns me away. And now, the most perplexing thing is he now marking every where in the compound. My sib came visiting and before he entered the house, he quickly relieved himself outside because he was very pressed. Do you know Gift went to where the dude urinated and peed on top? It has gotten so bad now that Gift entered the house and marked different sections of the corridor and smaller dining area with pee.

Now, I don't know if this is classic Rott behavior or if he is just being indisciplined. I confess we spoilt him a bit because he is such a sweet animal when he is not misbehaving.

How do we discipline a dog that has grown wings? He is well socialised so it's not a case of too much isolation.

Keep hoping so, The minute a dog or any animal pisses another animal piss it simply means it doesn't respect you.
When it attempted to bite you and you ran away, it was challenging you and you ran away so it sees itself as the alpha.
The protection of the chicken?
It sees the chicken has part of hes pack and so protects it from you since you're beta to him.
You aren't taking this thing seriously honestly, just Google what has to happened to previous owners of rottweilers that failed to show your supremacy it ranges from serious bites to death of children.
