Never compare a Boerboel to a Rottweiler. A Boerboel has almost the same heart..as a German Shepherd(attentive and calm to the owner)...once a Rottweiler is grown...expect anything.

Who keeps rott inside where they leave.... That's one is wrong on it own..... Two... Rott is kinda wild breed of dog..... Everybody knw this as they get old they display this mumu attitude n Dat why family people with kids are nt advice to keep them..... They av low memory and tend to attack their owner when provoked.... This can be controlled tho... But the I see no reason of using keeping the dog or allow it to enter ur room or sitting room very wrong...... Rott is nt pet ......when e misbehaving cage or chain n beat it..... Nt too hard tho.... Na brain be everything.. Lol

Oh my... Thanks.

You see, part of the problem is that you are female and that block head mutt knows. He won't take sh.it from no woman. You have allowed him to grow too large before you try to establish dominance. This is what you should have done since it was a puppy. You don't treat these large breeds same way you cuddle a chihuahua or poodle. I recommend that you tie him with correct chain, then beat the hell out of him without injuring him and getting too close so you don't get mauled. Don't use planks o. Get pankere or cane or belt. Make him put his tail inbetween his hind legs. After the beating him, serve him correct food still with cane in your hand.

Look him straight in the eye every time. Stare him down. But don't show your teeth or snarl or growl. He will know you're just being a wannabe dog. With cane or belt in hand (just to remind him of his place) stare the phuck into his eyes. He mustn't smell fear in you, otherwise you're in trouble.

See Cesar Millan establishing his dominance over a stubborn dog here, my quarrel with his method is that he was not adequately protected and so took a nasty bite.

Wow! This dude is a professional to the core!

He is in charge even after the bite. The dog is gonna just respect him.

We will have to tie him down before spanking him because I wasn't exaggerating when I said we can no longer spank him. When you try to, he turns on you.

Scratch that, I just remembered now that we can't even tie him again. The last time we tried he fought us tooth and nail.

I am having same issue with my Caucasian sherperd. He used to be a gentle lad, but now he plays too much. He has already torn two of my jeans and a polo by playfully dragging it with his teeth.
So to stop the issue from occurring again, i have stopped playing with him, once i give him his food, i japa.

Man, I feel you. I made the mistake of keeping my Caucasian in a very large, spacious and sturdy wooden cage. The mothaphuka simply chewed its way through. Very powerful idiot.

Speaking from experience, the mistake you made was backing out. I've got dogs that always want to prove they are alpha males, in fact the same trait your dog exhibited was the same trait my dog expressed too.

He did the same thing one time and I took it upon myself to fight him head on, na me train am from pup afterall, he gats respect him elders. We both drew blood and I ended up injuring him more than he did me. And he immediately whimmperd and took off the opposite direction.

Even when I pursued to attack him, he took off. I mean this was the same dog that will stage war with me initially, sometimes when he gnashes at my siblings and I immediately step in, oga has no other option than compose. Dogs are very easy to train when you do this twice he'll adjust and honestly you'll come to love your dog more.

That's because you chastise him too much so he has become rebellious

If you continue flogging a child for every little mistake After some time he becomes violent, sturborn and rebellious.thats what happened to your dog.be kind to your dog ,show him more love and watch how meek gentle and obedient he becomes.reduce your chastisement.its not everything he does wrong that you punish him for

When he does something right reward him with food and massage his head.praise him by calling him good boy.he will be happy and start wagging his tail.when you do that consistently he won't be rebellious again

Abeg, how did you stop it?
like I said show him who is boss.. At that moment jack would want to attack anything on its way, so all we had to do was discipline him and made him understand that we won't accept the bossy attitude, anytime he does that we made sure we get a belt or stick to correct him

Dog Lovers, Please I Need Advise On My Rott's Naughty Behavior

I have a one and a half year old Rottweiler named Gift and I don't understand him anymore. We can't chastise him again when he misbehaves because he bares his teeth and growls menacingly at us if we try to spank him for being naughty. He welcomes us when we come home like any loyal, loving pet, but yesterday he shocked me. Usually as we are about to enter the house he playfully holds one foot down so we can't enter, or he jumps on you and hugs you tight so you can't move. When I got back from work yesterday I was exhausted and I didn't have energy for his play so I hugged him briefly but as I entered the house I mistakenly stepped on his right hindpaw.

He howled, left me, and lunged at me, this time to bite me. He actually narrowly missed my arm.

I was mad. I turned and yelled "Gift are you mad?" He bared his fangs and barked at me. Me sef I bared my teeth at him and ordered him to stand down. He growled, me sef I growled back. Do you know this dog kept advancing menacingly at me and barking? I quickly borrowed myself brain and locked the door. Werey dog.

I can't shoo Matilda, my chicken in his presence. He covers her with his body and warns me away. And now, the most perplexing thing is he now marking every where in the compound. My sib came visiting and before he entered the house, he quickly relieved himself outside because he was very pressed. Do you know Gift went to where the dude urinated and peed on top? It has gotten so bad now that Gift entered the house and marked different sections of the corridor and smaller dining area with pee.

Now, I don't know if this is classic Rott behavior or if he is just being indisciplined. I confess we spoilt him a bit because he is such a sweet animal when he is not misbehaving.

How do we discipline a dog that has grown wings? He is well socialised so it's not a case of too much isolation.

The dog is a male and you are or have a hole. Later, it(he) is going to penetrate you.

Now, can you see your weakness as a disrespectful female with an education looking for a male help for a dirty dog? cheesy

Transitioning from adolescent to adult? He is an adult.

At least that is what his big, dangling balls suggest...

It is still growing and has not yet reached full maturity. A full grown Male is bigger than this.

What you have to understand is that some large breeds are usually very stubborn. They require a firm owner. As it is, it's a bit bug for you to get physical with it. It may want to attack back.

What you do first is to chain it for some days. Like previous posters said, you can use food to punish it.

Wowwww .dis is serious..I also have a Rottweiler, almost about 4 yrs now..Do not forget dat Rottweilers are the second most violent dogs on Earth. They are very domineering and Territorial. These species are not really pets that should be allowed into ur homes and corridor..it takes advantage of every opportunity u give it..It doesn't listen to the first command u give it,it would ask himself first (why is he giving me this command?)after dat,he could probably obey.My own rott even snarls at me when I try to flog it.U must show him that you are the boss. When it misbehaves, tie it to a chain and flog it very well as soon as he misbehaves.Do not flog unchained,,it could loose it's anger .It's not like a regular dog like Alsatian specie.Rott naturally takes over, feeling it is the boss.U must be very disciplined before a Rottweiler obeys u.Your dog is trying to become a man @ dat stage.its also like a transition. He will Begin to mellow gradually at 3 plus to 4 years..
Plssss again,I warn u..Begin to boss this dog now before it takes over as boss.u have not lost the Battle.Dont also forget that it is a specie dat is more loyal to jus one or two person's in the family.Evn when u feed it,if he trys to eat the food without ur instructions, den it's evident dat u contributed to the bad manner's of the dog. thanks..plssss Op begin to do your homework now

-Being aggressive and showing dominance

Dogs don’t read minds they feel emotions —when you’re happy/sad —“SCARED” you not standing your ground when your own dog confronts you says it all. You’re giving him the upper hand— Bowing down to him. accepting him as the alpha.

To curb this — male notions that would pass the message across to your dog you’re the alpha. Make him submissive. Tie him down and put his feed just close enough so he sees it but can’t eat it —- after he whines for a few mins. Give him your normal commands, “sit-up-shake me” those basic commands you share. Only give him his food when he obeys.

The Aggressiveness is not justifiable, he doesn’t sound like an aggressive dog, stand your ground and shut him up when he growls at you. If he lunges at you. You don’t have to flog him, wait till he’s calm- put the leash on him —tie him to a pole (make sure there’s no much space on the rope that he cant move around) you want him sitting on a spot for a few hours until he starts to whine. Then you give command codes- if he obeys you leave him there for longer.

I have two Boerbel breed dogs— used to be a real pain in the ass but they’re good now

The challenge is we can't even tie him again because he is very strong.
