Keep hoping so, The minute a dog or any animal pisses another animal piss it simply means it doesn't respect you.
When it attempted to bite you and you ran away, it was challenging you and you ran away so it sees itself as the alpha.
The protection of the chicken?
It sees the chicken has part of hes pack and so protects it from you since you're beta to him.
You aren't taking this thing seriously honestly, just Google what has to happened to previous owners of rottweilers that failed to show your supremacy it ranges from serious bites to death of children.
Oh dear... This is just awful. I have already become more serious with the broom therapy

Not just broom therapy, too much aggression might not work.
My advice for you to find a dog trainer or possibly google how to discipline a rott weiler, they naturally very AGGRESSIVE so flogging that dog might lead to some very painful bites.
Just never, I repeat never allow that dog do what it keeps doing mostly the pissing part.
It's a huge warning sign.

Na wa with all these "whipping/be the alpha" advice. I doubt the whites train their dogs that way. Shouldn't you rule out rabies. Perhaps it is afflicted with that.

That is Nigeria for you, they seek advice from the wrong place. Which is why person who have STD instead of going to the hospital for proper diagnosis and treatment will come to Nairaland and begin ask for help.

You have her the best advise. Let her take her dog to experts. simple.

To be honest with you, you never can trust animal whether trained or not.

I'm having same issue with my bull, he should be 8 or 9 months old now. Ever since he was 3 months bathing him has always been stress, he chews his wooden cage that we had to make a very strong iron cage for him. He's been too aggressive and I don't know what to do again, i just let him be in the cage, and feed him there. As he doesn't get out of the cage due to stubbornness he's nails are now sharp that before he baths he must have given marks all over my hand n legs. Sometimes he succeeds to slip out of my hand and first thing he does is to go fight with the quiet Rottweiler that's on chain or Scooby the bull mastiff. I just fear that one day even at his tender age he'll beat the hell out of his seniors. The other dogs are over 3 years.
I hope you see and heed to my advice.
Pit bulls are one the most dangerous breeds they are worse than rott weilers and built for violence.
You have to beat that dog NOT ABUSE IT but beat it till it understands you're the alpha.
Why Is it attacking the quiet rottweiler?
It sees the other dog as a challenge, it's trying to gain rank in the pack, don't be surprised if after killing or injuring that dog it comes for you next because that's how it is.

You need to tame that dog, flog it if it growls at you.
Flog it pisses any where.
Flog it if it refuses to bath BUT DON'T ABUSE IT.
Give it treats, toys and food after it obeys an instruction this builds a bond between you and the dog.
Walk the dog as much as needed and make sure it's not AGGRESSIVE around others especially family members.

Dog Lovers, Please I Need Advise On My Rott's Naughty Behavior

I have a one and a half year old Rottweiler named Gift and I don't understand him anymore. We can't chastise him again when he misbehaves because he bares his teeth and growls menacingly at us if we try to spank him for being naughty. He welcomes us when we come home like any loyal, loving pet, but yesterday he shocked me. Usually as we are about to enter the house he playfully holds one foot down so we can't enter, or he jumps on you and hugs you tight so you can't move. When I got back from work yesterday I was exhausted and I didn't have energy for his play so I hugged him briefly but as I entered the house I mistakenly stepped on his right hindpaw.

He howled, left me, and lunged at me, this time to bite me. He actually narrowly missed my arm.

I was mad. I turned and yelled "Gift are you mad?" He bared his fangs and barked at me. Me sef I bared my teeth at him and ordered him to stand down. He growled, me sef I growled back. Do you know this dog kept advancing menacingly at me and barking? I quickly borrowed myself brain and locked the door. Werey dog.

I can't shoo Matilda, my chicken in his presence. He covers her with his body and warns me away. And now, the most perplexing thing is he now marking every where in the compound. My sib came visiting and before he entered the house, he quickly relieved himself outside because he was very pressed. Do you know Gift went to where the dude urinated and peed on top? It has gotten so bad now that Gift entered the house and marked different sections of the corridor and smaller dining area with pee.

Now, I don't know if this is classic Rott behavior or if he is just being indisciplined. I confess we spoilt him a bit because he is such a sweet animal when he is not misbehaving.

How do we discipline a dog that has grown wings? He is well socialised so it's not a case of too much isolation.
check him for coro!

Op you have made a very big mistake by backing down when your dog challenged your position, now he is the alpha of the house yes!..The way we live in families dogs live in packs and a pack must have a leader whose position most be merited...you may be taking this as a joke but dominant dog breed such as rotts, Boerboels, Caucasians,e.t.c require a firm hand that's why there re nt recommended for first time owners who ll get scared when a dog challenges them...Don't be surprise if your dog attacks you or your family one day.

Correct your mistake show him no fear and spank him to submission next time he challenges you...tho with his age it may be difficult for you..good luck
normally, he suppose look for mouth guard... use am for the dog so he won't bite... then beat the hell out of him... else, he'll need gun to kill his dog soon when the dog is totally out of control

I don't usually comment but I will do that now. I will suggest, you start flogging the dog very well even with iron. Then always put him on Chains whatever or cage, depending on the one you have or plan to sell the dog to save life of your family members. Thank you very much.

I remember my Rots (Hunter), very stubborn... He hates bathing ND very aggressive, I started disciplining him when he was 7wks old, because Rots are very very stupid dogs if pampered too much... At 6months, if he does anything I don't like, immediately I raise my hands up, and shouts his name, he lies down flat. I think that's a sign that I am the alpha... But with strangers ehn, if u raise dat hands up, u are on ur own o. Lol.. Parvovirus killed him early this year.. I really miss him Sha.. he was a true friend..

For your Rottweiler, just forget it.. U don already Bleep up.. just try and get a cage, don't let him out except at night, and feed him once and show him u are d alpha, by been the only one that feeds him..

Good luck.

Ishilove, yor dog don turn oga for house be that. My 1years + GSD won't try any rubbish with me. I have a big stick I use to break his leg anytime he does shittts with me. Ordinary eye contact, my dog don fear but no outside he can ever fear like me.

I hate rott cos they are too aggressive. You need to be muscular to handle him and also involve a vet. If he no hear word, sell him and buy another breed.......GSD will be loyal till the end if you don't take shiitt from him since day1.

There is no phase of transiting here, is either the op dominate or He dominate which he is doing , He needs to curb it and start showing he is the boss or else he will have to either sell it or leave with it for the rest of the dog's life, the moment your pet start forming to you and marking even human urine at any slight chance shows the dog is trying to pass a message to them that he is the boss.
Exactly my intended points. The dog is trying to prove that he's the boss. It is either he clip his wings now or he packs out of the house.

Few years ago, I bought a 'few weeks old' male Rottweiler. Having catered for the dog for about a year and a half, it attacked me while I was tryna discipline it. Fortunately, it was chained...I had to run for my dear life. I later placed a call to the vet doc, who took it away(sold it)..and I lived happily thereafter. The end.

You sound like a 1st time dog owner. Rottweiler is a very strong dog and need to be shown he is below you and not above you in the pack!

I have to tell you. You have encouraged his dominance Behavior with the way he welcomes you into the house and so all did not happen overnight!

This can go down 3 ways from my POV.

1. Taking back Control of the pack by Show of force and dominance.

2. Obedience school if you can get one close to you in this lockdown.

3. Or gettin rid of the Dog to a security company or anyone that can take him off your hands.

The Dog (Gift) is a ticking time bomb now esp if there are kids in the compound and can even pose a danger to adults!

This new behavior makes him the leader of your pack!

I have a 5 years old Boerboel that behaves the same way. There was a day I asked someone to put it to sleep. It has attempted to bit me on more than 3 occasions. Some time ago, I traveled and left my wife and the kids with the dog. The dog growled at my wife and my wife used a big stick to beat the dog. The next day when I arrived, I noticed a change in the dog behavior. It stopped growling at me. The dog is currently afraid of my wife.

The beating from the big stick must have taught the dog a lesson.

To be candid, it is risky using a stick, belt, etc to beat these big dogs. They could charge at you and cause you severe harm. If you cannot discipline the dog, let a professional trainer handle him. I wish you all the best with GIFT
