Social distance isn’t possible in Nigeria because of the way most Nigerians do things.

Do Nigeria government even consider people in a face me I face you house in Mushin, ketu alapere, ojota, idumagbo etc these kind of building house about at least 30 occupants including boy’s quarters. They share the same toilet, bathroom kitchen.

If a person living in such house contract the virus, your guess is as good as mine regarding what will happen.

Our market places is topic for another day.

Social distance isn’t achievable in Nigeria

Social distance is not possible for humans in general.

It's actually 'Physical distancing' not social as erroneously used.
The concept is only applicable to those with their personal cars and not public transport users.

You can't help your hungry neighbors with just a cup of rice and yet still want the lockdown to continue.

That's a very bad thing. The lockdown has been relaxed, let's us all now go and fend for ourselves. Since the government only care about their pockets and don't know how the citizens that work and depend on daily income to feeds has been surviving in the past week.

The rate at which Agberos will infect them ehn.

I laugh when people talk about nose masks. They believe a typical and desperate agbero that hardly pronounces destinations properly will wear a nose mask.

We complain of hunger, but how many people will allow artisans, electricians, plumbers come to fix anything in their house at a time we're seeing new cases? Those surviving on daily income still won't get the kind of job they expect so what's the point? If you won't allow an artisan come close to your house, why lift the lockdown when we can force the government to provide?

This country is full of idiots. I've been seeing the clamour for the government to call off the lockdown, without putting into consideration how people are going to move around from one place to another.

Some fools even went as far as protesting, burning tyres on the road. The lockdown has been the only reason why we haven't had exponential cases of COVID-19 so far. That's all going to change starting next week.

El-rufai is the only sensible governor that has put in place proper measures to curtail the spread by extending the lockdown by 30days, and on the long run, everyone will see how it will pay off.

are you talking about real exponential or media hyped exponential figures? as if corona is the first infectious disease to occur in the history of man, go and read about the bubonic plague, cholera, typhoid, SARS, the only solution to any communicable disease is to find a cure, you ignorant idiots find it difficult to do a little digging, off course its much easier to rant and spread fear after all any brainless person can do that.

Some of you just post rubbish without any logic. Most of you that likes to bring up education as a measure of intelligence are as dumb as fcvk. Most barely even graduated from some barley qualifying shit-hole you call Universities where you cheat, bribe and sleep you way out of.
First Buhari has more education than most of you wailers, education is not only qualified by what you learn in class. It's a combination of classes, life experiences and on the job experiences. This is a man who went to top Military college in the US where you cannot cheat and bribe you way out like most of these wailers did.
I know people with advance degrees who lack basic logic and I also know people with not much education but are gifted with high IQ and ability to make good decisions.
What is NY doing with the amount of people that takes the Subways on daily basis, of Tokyo or Rome? Not much, except to advice people to wear mask as the President as stated.

You had a President with PHD, he was a complete dull and uninspiring CALAMITY. You have Governors now with PHD, some are even worse than Abgero with their decision capability.

The real problem is that we have too many dumb dumb who thinks that just going through a building called a University automatically makes them smart. That's a complete FALACY.

This is crazy. Now the lockdown has been relaxed. People will have to commute to work in Lagos and Abuja. Most people in these cities use public transport.

How will social distancing and proper sanitizing work in a crowded danfo or brt? And for those in Abuja how will you take your cabs or along where four passengers are jammed at the back?

Nigeria is not ready certainly for this . Pray there's no explosion of cases after one week

Two passengers per Row.
One empty Row between filled rows.

No brainer but the cost (loss on empty seats) to hte Driver has to be cushioned by the Govt, through subsidization of income.

Most things can be thought-through, if our leaders are intelligent and sincere.

The idiots clamoring for lockdown and social distancing forget that we are having these problems because the leader ship in Nigeria failed to...

1 Take proactive steps to minimize impact of convid

2 To take post active steps to contain the spread

3 To take steps to ameliorate the hardships caused by locking people indoors perpetualy.

Lock down is just another way of avoiding responsibility yet asserting authority.

I saw some people celebrating the lock down which will end next week.... I really don't know if most of you guys think at all.

Yes, we all want the lock down to end, but not at the expense of an outbreak waiting to happen.

Before the lock down, we had around 27 cases or so.... So how come we went from 27 to over 1300 during 4 weeks of the lock down.... Do you people even ask yourselves that question?

For people that don't have cars, how will they go to work now because Danfo drivers will never think of safety first, their number one priority is making money... So they'll keep packing you all together....not minding your safety.

We want to copy Ghana by relaxing restrictions, but we are forgetting that Ghana has conducted over 100k tests while we've only managed 10k.

This virus will eventually spread and the second outbreak will be worse than the first we currently have now.

There are a lot of asymptomatic carriers that don't even know they have the virus, so not testing enough people and rushing to open up the economy spells doom.

UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab said that they don't want to rush and open the economy too quickly to avoid a second wave that might be worse than the first and eventually make them lock down the economy for the second time and make people have lack of trust in the handling of the epidemic.

Nigeria saw Ghana opening and want to do follow follow.

This is a very very stupid decision in my part... And it is an accident waiting to happen.

So u have raised very good points. But since the government isn't giving out palliatives, do u still expect the lockdown to continue?? It's all government fault.

I do not think offices and social gathering will open, else it'll be a mess. And curfew at 8pm Lagos won't work. When you leave work at 4pm and two cats hit them self causing traffic till 9pm.

We are here to observe anyway

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has endorsed this evaluation and has accordingly reviewed the Quarantine Orders to strengthen the provisions against unauthorised movements. The two-day window during which the restriction of movement is relaxed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays has been reduced to only one day.

Is 3 passengers in a row six feet apart? Even if it is 2.

Many Nigerians don't know what is going on out there.

God help Lagosians especially.
See bro, most important thing to note is the entry points of the virus reason scientist advised not to touch these entry points with an unwashed hands and another important thing is for everyone to put on a recommended facemask to possibly limit the spread from infected persons. If these two procedures can be adhered to properly believe you me we wont have increase cases in another 14 days time.

No one should blame Nigerians for where we are. Rather, blame the Government for not being able to provide palliatives and make conditions suitable for staying at home.

Despite the lockdown, movement restrictions, border closures etc cases were still increasing and the virus spread to 32 states. NCDC could not scale up its testing capacity and were testing in bits and pieces.

Absolutely nothing was achieved with the lockdown.

Social distancing was always an utopian idea that was unachievable in Nigeria because of the accommodation & living arrangements in many poor & densely populated neighbourhoods.

Go to places like Makoko, Ebute Ilaje, Onitsha etc to tell them about social distancing and they'll laugh you to scorn.

Lets boost our immune system, gear up, up personal hygiene and face this thing head-on.

Cases might escalate but it won't be fatal for the vast majority of infected people.
