I can't believe Lagos Govt is asking those childish children on twitter if lockdown should continue. The real Nigerians are not on twitter, hell I am not on twitter. Nigeria is a joke.

A lockdown is the most brainless way to fight the Coronavirus. Our leaders need to activate their faculties and figure out better, smarter ways.

Now, as I'm writing this everybody in my company job is under threat, the company and everybody is doing their best to keep the company running any lockdown of just 3 or 5 days, we all are gone for good.
What actually is Nigeria government gaining from this covid19? Until half of Nigeria population losses their jobs and businesses?
Something is not right.

If Lagos State government wants to based it's decision from this vote, then there won't be any lock down.

Who will vote for lock down after what people went through the last time.

As at when I viewed the polls over 54% said to reinstate lockdown.

So dont be too sure.

Now be shocked as I was..

well Lagosians are getting used to slow life of staying indoors hence the vote..

If Wike's rash decision could be hailed by some Rivers State Indigene then I think Goovernance this days is about what the people wants and not about what is right or wrong

Best thing, no lockdown, enforce use of nose mask and physical distancing.

Exactly. This will work. The government should implement strict wearing of facemasks in public places at all times and every business must have sanitizer for it's customers.

We cannot afford to wreck the economy by locking it down. If we wreck the economy then where will we get the money needed to fight the virus?

Yet, we cannot afford to allow lots of people to get sick and be killed by the virus. The fear of being infected is enough to wreck the economy.

The only way forward is to use face-masks and enforce science-based infection minimization rules to protect lives and also protect the economy.
Uncle Seun, thank you, being saying these from day one, but the pro covid and pro lockdown people won't listen; how long can we lockdown

By the time we run out of all funds and even options to borrow, then what are we gonna do

Definitely Lagosians will vote in their favour....Had it been that a country like Nigeria acted the way Canadian government did to her citizens,by giving them $2000,then you will see that half of the population of Lagos will vote for the lock down to continue till eternity.

It's impossible to give each Nigerian $2,000.

The money to do that is nonexistent!!!

Lock-down is the cheapest way for government to fight COVID-19. To actually fight the virus streets need to be disinfected overnight before people troop out in the morning to resume work but government is not toeing this route because of the cost.

Apart from when we saw Lagos disinfecting the streets and bus-stops during the lock-down have they ever thought of doing it again since the lock-down was eased? I don't blame people who are scared, does it make sense that in the process of looking for what to eat you contact the virus and die.

New York governor summed it up nicely when he said money lost can be recovered, economy that goes belly up can be nursed back but the dead are dead you can't bring them back!

It is crucial to understand that, as a poor country with a large population, we don’t have the luxury of choosing between saving lives and saving the economy. If we lose one, we will surely lose the other.

Been singing the hymn since January. And as predicted the lockdown was lifted nothing was gained. Figures still rising, economy damaged. No gain left, no gain right. This is the result of incompetent leadership everywhere you look.

I come to this forum everyday shouti g for a goverment strategy to capture Covid in Nigeria. They say I talk too much. That lockdown is the strategy. I tell them, lockdown is like anaethesia. It creates opportunity to operate. But if the surgeon is busy drinking at the pub what is the point. The patient will not be cured.

The goverment has squandered 2 months, billions of naira in GDP and sent millions into the unemployment market and into abject poverty over a paltry 30,000 tests. What a waste.

Oga Seun don vex.

Valid points, but how many Nigerians will obey these Science based rules though?

Without a lockdown, a massive spread is inevitable.
