so, we trade with a specific strategies(every trader)… but market sentiment affects us all, day traders and swing traders.

my question is; what informs a change.

I know the market could be trendy, rangy or choppy, but in all my years ive not been able to spot the exert swing in mode...... .

The earning reports, companies inside moves, the Fed's decisions, even the president's utterances, and most important to me is the price action... You have to keep tabs on at all times..

thanks, how do u get insider info.....and I don't know if uve noticed but for me,like in march of 2019, nothing was working for me, all my trades where being stopped out, the same strategies I used to make money in December of 2018 ,jan and febuary 2019. stopped working in march of 2019. that same thing has started again this may.

my colleague say its a choppy market, trying to figure out how.....I stay of trading in the summer months as much as possible but on other months I sure find it hard to read the general market sentiment.

So in keeping with my promise to hint, I have seen from my "Dark Room" (if you remember how photographers washed pictures taken years back) that this may be the right time for some ETF plays.

Am buying these plays today UVXY (38.40) and SQQQ ($10.99).
They can be very volatile and are for very short term.

I think Trove app just saved you from losing money. The stock has been halted today as it is extremely volatile. News coming across now is saying the CFO has a sketchy past with overvalued companies according to the SEC. Stock has fallen over 50% from today's high and will fall some more once the trading halt is removed.

When i go through the fixtures in Robinhood. I just cry for Nigeria. See they even give you notification for incoming dividend, how much you paid for a stock,your current value...so many easy fixtures to help investors and traders.. With Chaka, i have to write down in a note book how much i bought a stock

This I have thought they need to implement...And the one who goes that route first will have an edge...48hrs is too much time to make a money you have confirmed already to reflect into the account... I think because majority are still new and need enough capital base to implement such.

There is even more. Your money starts yielding interest once they confirm receipt if you don't trade with it yet. The interest might be very little but it shows level of transparency.

They send you tax document at the end of the year. Whatever you made will be regarded as capital gain on your investment and what you loss would be regarded as depreciation on your capital investment.

If you bought stock and never sold it since buying on the app, you have to pay zero in taxes on them. If you have sold, and held it for less than a year (I'm assuming you haven't held shares of stock on Robinhood for >1 yr), it gets taxed exactly like job wages

Oakpearl and everyone one this platform are truly God sent.. been wanting to trade stocks since I was 16, after my secondary school teacher mentioned it to me....but then no platform no broker no one to tutor me....that was a very long time ago...

No. Your order/transaction will be executed once market opens. I will advise you wait till market opens before making a buy order because there is no provision for cancelling an order (please confirm this yourself). A stock could be doing well pre-market, but suddenly falls once the market opens which migth be due to investors taking profits.
