I suggest you read 100+ pages of NP reported sales. Preferably page 450 and later. Trust me, the quality of brandables you reg will improve. Also read beckplanet post on brandables (page 657 i think).

.us no good except if you can use it to form a dictionary name

Examples: curio.us, ambitio.us, dangero.us.

Anything else and you'll just be throwing your money away.

I just registered a one word dictionery domain name. I won't call it prime though

Reassumes.com

The "s" at the end devalues it but I suspect I can still get like $595 for it as a fast sale. Picked it from expireddomains.net.

Or should I list it for $2,100?

Guys, what do you think

I won't. I'll learn. I used to own stabilises.comand 2 a few others. That's far worse than this one has it it spelt the English way and not the American way.

I sold 3 of them together in 2006 or so for $197. I either sold them on Namepros or Dnforum. I paid $37 then at Dnforum to be allowed to sell there. That $37 gave me a 20 year membership to the site.

There should be a buyer but I'm not expecting much. That's why I priced it at $595, a price a buyer may not think twice before paying.

I hope I'm right.

You are comparing 2006, market with 2020.
I've been seeing your post for a while, I think you need to update yourself with what matters in today's market. Domaining is like fashion, it goes with trend. What is in Vogue in fashion today, can become an old school tomorrow.

Not GEO and I plan to outbound for the name. But all that might be wasted effort with that *warning bolded clause* the domain can be deleted even after successful registration. Trying to avoid that from happening.

I must commend you for giving it a try, as well as practicing what you've learned so far. However, you may need to change your strategy since the present one isn't working.

Just like Dreydoe highlighted above, to improve your approval rate, you need to take SH as a course and start studying it with keen interest – as in, give the site a close marking. grin

Start by reading their blog posts on how to pick the best names, the types of names they accept, how they evaluate names, their review process, amongst others.

Moving forward, proceed to your MARKETPLACE DASHBOARD and study the sold names beneath the page. Similarly, learn to use SH filters to research relevant keywords and generate new ideas.

Significantly, browse the NEW ARRIVALS names and pick ideas from there too. Most times, SH is likely to approve a good name that's similar to their new arrivals. Just identify the trend and follow it wisely before it gets saturated.

Listen, it's not easy out there. Thousands of creatives are competing to submit names of similar keywords, so you've got to stand out to get constant approvals. Look inwards and do something differently.

Nevertheless, I would personally advice you start with COMPOUND AND BLENDED NAMES. They seem to have more approval rates. I mean combining two real words to form a new name or combining parts of two words to have a new meaning. cheesy

Compound Examples: Cloud (word) + fly (word) = CloudFly (two real words)
Active + Tactic = ActiveTactic (two real words)

Blends Examples: Earnhance = Earn + En'hance'
Brunch = 'Br'eakfast + L'unch'
Cleanovate = 'Clean' + In'novate'

Ultimately, deploy a new strategy that works and stick to it. Plus, after researching popular keywords, write them down and do the same for suffixes. Combine your researched keywords (two at a time) and check if they blend well. cool

Repeat the same process for word + suffixes too. Then proceed to InstantDomainSearch/com to check its availability. Like I said earlier, note down the popular keywords and suffixes (maybe prefixes too) before getting started.

Apparently, as your approval rate improves, so will your submission limit do too. So from the 3 limited submissions at a time, you will go up to 5, 10, 12, 15, e.t.c at a time. wink

Please, don't forget to read more about BRANDABLES from this thread (Beckplanet & therealmacchain's posts), Namepros, DN Geek, SH Forum & Blog, Domaining/com, and more.

Personally, my first 15 names were rejected. grin Yes, I'm not ashamed to say it. They were descent names but weren't what SH wanted. I stopped, made extensive research and I've improved overtime. In fact, I have a friend I now exclusively supply names and he has more premium names than I do now. cheesy

Lastly, I will advise you not to rush. Take your time to learn first before delving into it fully. Fortunately, there's no late comer in domaining. So you basically have the ample time to read, prepare, and bomb SH with CATCHY names.

ED is good, gems can be found on the site, but don't submit all ED names to SH at once, mix them with your own brain–curated names. That way, your approval chance is increased. Don't mistake GEOs or EMDs for Brandables too.

Don't give up, keep trying and striving. Remember, there's always a reward for hard work + smart work + prayer. Be motivated, be energetic, and be encouraged. Soon enough, you will look back at your early stages and laugh. smiley

There were two of these names that looked like dictionary words.

The other one was MidWifed//com.

I've got 2 domain names i submitted on the 6th of may. Two of them were delisted with a price tagged on each with the expected comission written on the names but up till now these name hasn't been registered.
Note: i selected the option of SH to register the domain name.
Please is there anything that I'm not doing well here?

ikhalyfah:

This sums it up grin grin grin grin

But I'll love to hear from Beckplanet, what is your experience with them, sir?
On the Expert Reviewers Initiative, Here's my Experience/Thoughts;

At the beginning i was furious with the idea and mad at SH for coming up with such an idea in the first place cos i do more of submitting my own names than unregistered Names. So in the first few weeks of the Expert reviewer introduction i had roughly 90% rejection rate. And i was completely madt at everything happening with the new system lol. angry grin

But I'm beginning to gradually understand the module of the new system and my acceptance has improved. Now here are Some examples of what they accept "2 keywords names" like (DefendHero,LendQuick,CrunchBoss, TotalCure) and very short Play on words "Hybrid like" names like ( Milksy,Hackio,Foodiza,Curivo, Joburo, weblytic, edulytic etc. "they must be super short"wink or pronouncable 5 letter words like (Rivar,Fexen, Grixy, Kidoy, Qoozu etc) You can check for more of these names on the daily premium listing in their homepage of the marketplace when you click "view brand names" and you sort by "new arrivals". Also what i figured about the Expert reviewers taste is that it's slightly different from what squadhelp initially accepted as you no longer see weird names being accepted but now you see more quality names listed in the marketplace. So there's a bit change of orientation and understanding.

THE CONS

Different Reviewers means Different Judgment :
While some of these 'experts' are our peers (Veteran domainers) who have large portfolios on SH probably 500 plus names listed in marketplace others are those who started with Squadhelp as CREATIVES or content creators or Logo Designers and migrated to becoming a domainers pretty when anything and everything was accepted in the marketplace and these category of sellers have proven themselves in the SH platform through winning contest awards, with proven sell through rate(STR), high ranking, higher acceptance rate etc but might lack a bit of knowledge of how domaining works. Now here's the thing, brandable Names are subjective meaning that what might be good in one person's eyes, might be bad in another. So the outcome is that if your name is not super catchy or super premium dictionary word or 4l/5l pronouncable, or soronous 2-keyword name your chances of acceptance becomes pretty slim because in your eyes name might seem pretty cool but it's different judgment to another. (Different experts means different judgment, what looks good to Mr "A" is a complete thrash Mr "B" and vice versa.

Time Constraints : Now these Experts are shown 4 names at once and in seconds to click on names they feel are good enough now this is different to allowing the expert to take their time and assess the names properly as SH look to achieve faster review time (As a result of previous seller complaint in the past that led to the introduction of the new system in the first place) So little time to analyze these names means hastily judgment made at times by the reviewers.

Knowledge of the market and current Trends: As Reviews are now conducted by quick multiple choice polls like (which name do you like best?). Reviewers do not see descriptions. And going by the fact that brandable domain names are a bit subjective (which means it might take a second look to see how good a name really is or the potential it may have. Now i feel Description can help convince on reviewers judgment and Again if a reviewer lacks the knowledge of Current trends and demand of the marketplace it becomes difficult to make the right judgment. But a good name can always be spotted from a far without much conviction, i feel that's what the new policy intends to achieve.

There might be other cons which i may not mention but have been extensively discussed over there at namepros by forum members like conflict of interest, and other similar concerns

THE PROS

One good thing about SH is that they know how to make use of technology more than all the other brandable marketplaces and are super innovative, creative, listens to seller concerns and are quick to react/adapt to new changes.

Some concerns seller's raised pre-expert reviewers era was that squadhelp accepts thrash (low quality names) most of the time and the review time needed to improve (this was due to huge volume of names submitted to SH daily) even though their review time is way more quicker than it's competitors, Now in response to these concerns squadhelp introduced the "Expert Reviewers" system. Here are the pros they achieved so far with that, as admitted by some sellers.

*Improving the overall quality of domains on the marketplace, better curated names means more demands by potential buyers.

*The process is smoother and faster, occurs within 24-48 hours, plus logo design as well within a short space of time. Drastically reduces review times of marketplace.

* The two aforementioned points leads to makeplace efficiency and zero lagging.

Going forward i feel that squadhelp make go on with the new Reviewer system this is according to the comments made by GrantP on their namespros thread although the can make some adjustments and amendments as the marketplace is highly flexible and trend oriented.

Peace cool

My New Plan

when someone replies me with "how much"

my response would be :

Listed Price - $400(with domain link embedded)
Godaddy valuation - $1000(with godaddy appraisal link embedded)
EDIT: If asking price is > godaddy valuation then I'll use comp sales > asking price

Very unique domain that captures your business and its location. It can be redirected to your current site if you wish. Random Domain also sounds good for marketing online and offline. Very easy to remember too.

Comments, criticism and correction are welcome.

Even far back 2006, you didnt stick to industry standard of .com

There were so many cool .com you would have hand registered or gotten from drops, na this one you still regg.

My brother/sister, you need to unlearn all what you know & reaquaint yourself with current day trends.

Since you already have a foundation, it will be fast for you, but unlearn everything you have ever learned.

You dont appraise names based on how you feel about it or how you like it. there is room for gutfeelings but that needs constant improvement & finetunning.
