My man calm down, you are speaking from your own perspective.
So don't just breathe hell on him.
I'm a private school teacher and I was opportuned to be at the management level
I was shocked to know that in a term total revenue generated was up to 20m
Total expenditures for the school in a term is 8m, this includes salaries, bus maintenance, logistics etc.
Still they owe us up to 2 months salaries
So oga , na your own you know
He was generalizing that's the issue. Our revenue ain't even up to a quarter of that amount here in a community were we beg parents to pay fees and some even run away after learning. Yet my Dad doesn't owe any of his teacher....after paying we have peanuts as left over

A school in Bariga that charges N15,000 and 200 pupils will make a revenue of N3 million for a term which is 4 months. That is an average of 750k per month. Mind you some of pupils will owe and some will be given discount

So he revenue of about 700k in a month. The school uses a rented apartment of about N2 million per year.

That is rent of about 150k per month. Subtract 150k from 700k. You will have 550k for the month, NEPA bill, refuse disposal, building maintenance 50k per month.

Subtract from 50k from 550k, you are left with 500k for the month. A school with 200 pupils should have about 20 teaching and non teaching staff.

If the school pay minimum wage to the 20 staff, that is about 400k.

The owner will pay taxes, dues, levies etc to bank, assuming he got a loan to pay the upfront rent, he also needs to buy resources needed in the school. The competition is also very keen.

I will rather invest my money in real estate, stock market and other portfolio Investments rather than a business that will give one high blood pressure
Its not only tuitions schools generate money from....it will amaze you how much school generate from extracurricular activities and examination internal or external , book sales etc

there is enough money in running a school, it is one of the best investment if you have the time and resources

i have a friend that is a school proprietor and also teaches, he said he makes profit of about ten million every term after staff salaries and every expenses

he built his duplex within six months and drives a car of about three million, and he doesn't have any other bussiness.

modified: he makes more money during external exams

I don't think any private school is gon' pay during this period. Now that everybody is fighting for their head.

Everybody answer your surname, naim we dey oo

If that is the case please help me beg them to STOP online lessons. How can you owe your teachers for almost 2 months and still want them to be coming to school 3 times in a week.

Is it not wickedness?

Its better you shut up at times than disgrace yourself when its obvious you're f***ing ignorant angry
You don't know d1ck about running a private sch you think it's easy being a private sch owner?? Some Private sch owners barely have enough returns after paying salaries, doing maintenance and stuffs. Its obvious your parents were scammed or exploited cuz your education seems like a waste.
Parents pay fees once in about 3 months and you have to pay the teachers for those 3months maybe another....you have to pay teachers a month salary for spending a week in that month, you have to answer to ministry of education,if you're on rent, you have to attend to that, you carry out maintenance from time to time,
Don't get me started on a lot of tins

I'm not talking about the big cuties!!!! Rubbish

Nonsense and ignorance >[/s] (

Load of crap. Hear the son of a headmaster throwing curse words all over the forum. I'm sure you didn't get much discipline from him. Do me a favour, tout : tell your dad, he ain't nothing but a slave driver.

How long has he been running, the school? You can also go and start if you think it is easy and you have the temperament to cope with the challenges...

A lot go on, that some people won't go into due to their beliefs and values. Some make good money in secondary School businesses from exam malpractices, miracle and expo centres for GCE and JAMB.

Some are equally diabolic, there are desperate school owners who went through this route that a pupil or a teacher must die every term in order to renew their blood money convenants.

All the same, follow your instinct if the business is right for you.

Salaries are to be paid from tuition fees. The school owner can have other side businesses eg book shop whose income is seasonal, from which he should pay his book shop attendants or pay something to the teachers who helped during the book sales which is usually for a period of two months or less in a year

Like i was just told some private schools don't even pay teachers during long holidays and general holidays, with the excuse that they are not working.

private schools with savings packages for their staff like some faith based schools are paying half salaries to their staff from savings/gratuity scheme. if we survive after this covid 19 , all private schools should be mandated to save 20% of each staff salary as a policy,

Now, this is a school that cares about its workers. I know three Catholic schools around here who did the same. Let no mumu come here dey give lame excuses for not helping their workers with a little something under the yeye pretext that they have other expenses to cater to. You've exploited them all these years, paying monkey salary and can't even try to show up for them just a little bit in these hard times? What use is you and your school
