2020 covid19 lock down has brought great misery and misfortunes and tripled the hunger and hardship index in the land. Imagine employers that their businesses have been temporarily grounded for the past 2months. Teachers are not the only ones affected. Long distance transportation companies, hoteliers, private school owners, federal/state government establishments that generate their revenues through which they are paid which are no longer working because of the lock down such as FAAN, VIO, etc. |

I just look forward to the time and day Teaching profession will be taken to the next level and People that are gonna fight for the right of teachers . I understand the private schools is on another level of slavery....private schools dt are doing well are just 30percent....I mean paying well. Professionalism and increase in their salaries...a minimum wage to both private and public school teachers.. It's always painful ...I pray you all will survive and it's all going to be fine.... |

ThisisIkemefuna:You shouldn't generalise. I'm a private school teacher and I'm doing just fine. From onset I've never depended on my salary. I think any private school teacher without a private lesson should have a rethink, truth is the only thing keeping me in the teaching line is the money I make from home lessons. At the moment I run 5 home lessons with a minimum of #15000 each monthly. The lockdown had an initial effect as most of my lessons stopped but as it stands most parents are weary of leaving their wards too idle for long and d search for lesson teachers is on the high side now. I've given more than 4 lessons out bcoz I can hardly manage the ones I have. So I think my colleagues here should try to look out more and please don't keep quiet, always tell people you need home lessons and by God's grace u'll smile while others are complaining. |

CodeTemplar:I have been seeing dis logic, I wanted 2 ignore it but let me just say my opinion, d economic impact of covid19 impacted every coy home and abroad, but most of dis schools have been around for years so therefore has bin making money bfr now. It's only logical to deep into ur reserve and pay ur staff even if it's half salary 2 stay afloat, most of d private schools are owned by very greedy set of people 1 Like |

If they are not heartless, they ought to pay March and April because those month are part of the 2nd term which most parents had already paid for b4 the pandemic. It's only May that should be an issue 1 Like 1 Share |
