Episode 30

Dear Diary,

16th of June, 2019

It's being an interesting couple of days. I think Praise and I have grown closer and our relationship is much more intimate than before. Oh diary, I am growing in love with this man each and every day. And I know that he feels exactly the same way for me. Eh! May this our love in Tokyo never end in Jesus name.

This weekend, we had an August visitor. It was Praise's childhood friend and his wife, Akpan and Itohan. My husband didn't allow them to sleep in an hotel. They stayed in our guest room for two tonights. These men sef, they abandoned their wives, stayed glued to themselves, trying to catch up on years apart.

Anyways, Praise had fun and I am happy that he was happy. I also got to know his friend's wife, Itohan. I like her. She is such a darling. I don't really have too many female friends. I don't even have a best friend. I am not one to entertain drama. Even in high school and at the university, girls knew when to avoid me and when am available to chit chat.

That's by the way. I promised Praise's friend's wife that I will keep in touch and I mean it. I think we are gonna be besties, just like my husband and hers. But, if things don't turn out that way, life goes on.

We saw Akpan and Itohan off to the airport this Sunday evening. Oh my, it was as if they shouldn't go. They said it was our turn to visit. Praise is already talking about spending Christmas with them in Abuja. I don't mind. I am game for a very, very merry Christmas. Hahaha...

Ehn diary, something not too funny happened at the airport this evening. On our way out of the departure hall, Praise exclaimed! I assumed he saw someone he knew and I was right. I followed his gaze and saw a tall fair lady in her late thirties with the biggest curves ever, holding the hand of a girl who was about five or six years. The pretty little girl was a replica of her mother. They were both fairer than I was and almost looking white, like Peak milk powder... they were totally like half-castes.

The fair curvy lady was equally starring at my husband. The look of shock on her face turned to admiration. She let go of her daughter and walked towards us. Praise left my side and went to meet her. Like a scene from a Hollywood movie, she flew into his arms! Praise held her close and he was laughing as if he had just won the American lottery.

I stood there watching them, like I was literally watching a movie on Netflix. Then I turned to the cute little girl. She was looking straight at me. I smiled and waved at her. She smiled back at me and waved her small white hand.

I glanced back at my husband and I noticed that neither he or the fair curvy lady were ready to let go of each other. Is this not recipe for trouble? Abi which kain hug from hell be dis?

I walked up to my husband and cleared my throat four times, diary, four good times. He came to himself and pulled away from the fair curvy lady that wasn't even ready to let him go. She held unto his hand and eyed me like a parasite. Her look seemed to say, "What do you want? You're disturbing us."

God punish disturbance!

Praise used his other hand to draw me close and the fair lady noticed. She raised an eyebrow and gave me an inquisitive stare.

Praise spoke fast, like someone eating hot rice. He said that the fair lady was his ex and they dated long before he met his late wife. He said the curvy lady broke up with him and flew out of the country, chasing her budding Voice Over and Media career.

The lady laughed, fixing her cat eyes on my husband. Oh yes diary, her eyes looked like that of a cat. You know how those Egyptian women look with kajal around their eyes? This lady has a natural kajal look... she had little or no make up on and she is... honestly, she is quite pretty.

The lady told Praise that she heard about his late wife recently. And she apologized for not sending him her condolence. She claimed that she lost his contact. And she also regretted breaking up with him, but by the time she realized her mistake, he was already married to his late wife.

"That's all in the past Diana," Praise smiled at her.

So, diary, Praise's ex name is Diana.

Diana didn't stop talking. She continued o. She said that she came back to the country a few months ago. She was still trying to settle down and she was willing to give back to the country through her expertise in the Voice Over and Media business. She introduced her daughter, Roselyn, the result of a botched affair. When push came to shove, the guy left her for a rich American lady.

Diary, dis lady kon press press Praise's hand to her chest, her massive arsenal, claiming that she was so, so happy to see him.

I am rolling my eyes right now as I write.

Diary, this lady's chest is twice mine! And her cleavages were out there for all straying eyes to see. She was technically rubbing my husband's hand against her cleavage, the raw part of her bare chest... the upper part of her exposed breasts!

Diary... this lady was sending signals. Clear broad day light signals! Diary, this lady was telling Praise that she still wants him back!
I pretended to cough. And Praise collected his hand back. He drew me closer and introduced me to Diana as his wife.

Diaaarrryyyyyy! You need to see the way this fair curvy lady looked at me. If looks could kill, I should be dead right about now.

Diana looked me up and down, sizing me up, and whatever her mental calculations were, she practically glared at me. Like I stole something from her. Who is the real thief here?

See me trouble me o. Is Praise her own? Did they write her name on Praise's forehead? Biko, how do one steal something that is already yours? Praise is mine and not hers. He was never hers for a start. She left him, he married someone else and now he is married to me, QED, finito, c'est fini!

Diary, I am beginning to think that this lady came back into the country with the hope that she could hook up with Praise and start afresh with him. Anyhow, whatever her plans were, they were dead on arrival.

Well, just to seem nice, I told Diana that her daughter was really pretty. Diary, she just eyed me and turned back to Praise. If I had my way, I will just pluck out her cat eyes. I wished I didn't even say anything at all, at all. Talking to her was like pouring water into a basket. A total waste of effort and time.

Diana told Praise that she didn't know that he remarried. She repeated that she still doesn't have his contact and she hoped they could hang out sometime soon.

Praise and Diana exchanged numbers. She hugged my husband briefly, making sure that she rubbed her heavy, half exposed chest against him, before stepping away. She waved goodbye and walked away, with her daughter. She didn't say a word to me or even look at me!

Diary, dis one na witch na! Make you check am out. After a man told you that he was married, you still went ahead and press press your arsenal on him, stabbing it on his body wey no be firewood, for him wife's front! Ah-han! Witch! White witch alert!

On our way back to our vehicle, Praise asked me what I thought about his ex and I told him straight up. I don't like Diana. She has premeditated plans that involves him and I don't want her near him or us, like till Jesus comes.
Praise laughed and laughed, calling me a jealous wife. Saying that his ex was harmless, bla, bla, bla.

I hear. But I am not leaving anything to chance. This woman didn't regard me at all when she was pressing her chest against my husband, right in my presence. May be she was spoiling for a fight, I don't know. But I got her message loud and clear. She wants my husband and she assumes that there was nothing I can do about it.

Diary, she doesn't know me, ba? She has no idea what I am capable of.

I am going to play my part. I am going to make sure that my husband stays away from her.
You know the thing about one's ex. They can pull strings in us, reigniting past feelings, reawakening dead and forgotten passions and if one wasn't careful, they can really mess up things. When it comes to one's ex, most times, it never ends well. Take Kingsley's wahala for example.

The best thing is to stay away from them permanently!

I need God to save Praise from the fair curvy lady, his ex, Diana, the white witch that just resurfaced in his life. I need God's help ASAP!

You know its almost impossible for a rabbit to resist a bunch of carrots. Praise is gonna eat that carrot for sure
