Your response will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

I hope you applied to other schools as well.....my experience with West London, they never responded back so dont put all your eggs in one basket

So google did not give you the answer?
Previous threads did not give you the answer too?
You probably have poor research skills.

Anyway sorry ma no vex, Happy Ramadan Kareem!

You’re very silly for saying that. I make good research. I googled about Sheffield cost of living and I saw it. But I didn’t see anything about Sheffield cost of living and student jobs in previous and current thread Mr talk talk. It was mostly Whales, Scotland, Coventry.

I’m not asking you the question (because you know nothing about it. Instead I’m asking the good learned people that studied there or are living there.

So Skymoore kindly keep quiet

Cost of living depends on how you spend but as a self funding student, you can manage to live less than £600 monthly.
For jobs, upload Yur CV on job site reed.co.uk,totaljobs.com,cv-library.co.uk e.t.c to apply for jobs.
Cheap apartments, search spareroom.co.uk for double rooms or Zoopla.co.uk for studio/1bedroom flat. For flats, just be aware that your monthly additional bills will be over £300(water, energy, council tax, Internet e.t.c)

Thanks and God bless. I appreciate

Yes, I applied to other schools but the course at UWL is fascinating and since its health related one can get a better job prospect or build a career out of it.

Good morning all, please am considering applying for MBA or MSc in electrical engineering or advance engineering management . I like to know the prospect of electricity in UK, possibility of getting a job quickly.
Secondly, which would you advice I go for?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by duchess90(f): 10:12am On May 24, 2020
That response was made on the assumption that the people on the platform are majorly international full-time student.Part time studies as an international student is not easily given. Again my opinion.

Perhaps, you might request from the school to chat with a Student Ambassador or the Student Union(if applicable). They might help give you detailed answers.Just as a second option.

I would think Electrical Engineering is better as it is even one of the occupations on their shortage list

Sometimes its better to join your school facebook group or whatsapp group just to get an insight of the school, jobs and city. You will find ambassadors and current students in the group that can help you out or even find your classmates (who applied for the same course) who would like to share apartments or make friends with them before school resumes.

Or follow the school Instagram page to know what the school looks like some UK citizens (photographers or the school) have dedicated IG pages for just their city. You can go through there as well.

I don't think there is much job opportunity that is specific to public health in the UK.... I have hardly seen a job listed that you need MSC public health
. .... however you can carve a niche with whatever you do

Electrical Engineering has good prospects in UK. But having BSc or MSc alone is not a pre-requisite to practice. Is your course having professional accreditation? Please try as much as possible to focus more on learning all the skills, software and technology involved from local trade electrician while also studying for your MSc . If possible, You can enrol for a free internship with any local trade electrician to learn more about the job . Your MSc wont give you 100% training and skills needed to get the job out there.

I still don't know why people are going for MSc in Public health. If you have passion for health discipline, Go for nursing please. Many people that finished the course don't fit in to any job , except doing care assistant at care homes undecided

How log did it take to get an offer from salford ?

Hello Landers, I must say that this group is really doing a great job.
Please a quick one.
For those that knows much about Cardiff in Wales. What can you say about the city in terms of the people, job prospects as a student, living expenses compared to other places in the UK . .

I got an offer to study Safety, Health and Environment at Salford in Manchester and also Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

I am okay with the two Universities. I am only trying to compare the survival rate as a prospective student.

Though I've made some researches online but first hand information is golden.

Thank you as I wait for your feedback.
Thank you all.

International part time students are still granted visa in UK. You said students are exempted from council tax which indirectly means both Full/Part time. Lastly if a student is coming with his/her spouse, they still need to pay council tax as far the Dependent his working. They are qualify for Council tax reduction. Counci tax exemption will be granted if a student is full time and the dependent or spouse is not permitted to work. Api Eid Mubarak

I mean aku odun ooo. Is Sunday and Eid.
In summary, is just a discussion where I listed bills of a student who wished to rent a Studio flat with the spouse (I said he/she need to b aware of additional bills lyk water, energy, council tax e.t.c. The beautiful Olori said students are exempted from council Tax and I asked if it applies for both Full and part time. Was just pointing out that students and dependent only get council tax exemption if the dependent is not granted permit to work or not working.

Una well done o. I have hardly contributed (due to hustle) but this forum helped me a lot in the past so rectifying that from now.

On the council tax issue, speaking from my own experience, even if the spouse has permission to work and is working, the full exemption still applies for students and dependents. It applies to spouses of international students as well. Some people are not aware of this so if you are sent a council tax letter without the full exemption, you simply go to your council office and tell them you are a full time international student and your spouse has ‘no recourse to public funds’. This has even been clarified in court. See... https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/information--advice/fees-and-money/council-tax#layer-3867 and https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/information--advice/fees-and-money/council-tax#layer-3867 for what constitutes student for council tax purposes.

Yes. But Tier 4 students studying part-time are subject to certain restrictions: no work, no work placements, no dependants. See... https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information--Advice/Visas-and-Immigration/Tier-4-eligibility-and-requirements
