myboy2111:I must say good work.....one think I know with Buhari is that he shared or carried out projects equally in the 6 geo political zones, but the only problem I have with him is that, he is very sentimental in the appointment of key positions into different ministries, Agencies, and parastatal...which re mostly dominated by the northerners. and this action only is antagonistic to the good things he has been doin in one way or the other. he really needs to work according to the principles of Federal Character. Thank you |

This administration is working in terms of infrastructural development although Benin-Okene-Lokoja-Abaji dualizastion project is on a slow pace. Despite the infrastructural development drive, the level of poverty has drastically increased in this administration. There is a hugh gap, lack of amenities and decay in the health sector. This administration should work on reviving the economic and ensure that the common man is not severely under untold hardship myboy2111: |

This is a welcome development. We should all be happy. And for your information, Railway System (Train Service) can be divided into different categories. We have monorails, metrorails, light rails and commuter rails. They can either be powered by diesel or electricity. Also they can either have narrow gauge track or standard guage track. Speed too is a factor... can either be the high speed one or average speed. Today some of these categories have fused together with different features from each to form a combo. Today we have mostly light-metro, light-commuter and high speed light trains/commuter trains. Heavy Rails which are mostly commuter rails or metro rails are outdated today. Narrow guage too are also not modern. Standard guage track is what is used mostly now. Now for your information, Nigeria has really tried in terms of Railway System in Africa. Today only two countries have Metrorail and they are Algeria and Egypt. Only four countries in Africa has light rail and they are Algeria, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Morroco (That of Ethiopia and Nigeria are light-metro while Morroco's own runs on a high speed line making it the fastest on the continent). There are many countries that have the Commuter rail/Surburban rail like Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania etc. For monorail only South Africa and Nigeria has monorail on the continent. So to me Nigeria has tried. We have all the three categories aside Metro which is currently under construction. Also note this that any existing rail system can be upgraded to be modern or more efficient. You can switch to electricity, you can change the track to SGR and so on. Thanks |

| Re: Nigeria Acquires New Train Coaches by Olumyco(m): 1:39pm On May 26, 2020 |
To clear the air. Any train service that uses Standard Guage Track (SGR), has a light and aesthetically designed body and has exclusive right of way with visible track and runs at an average speed of100km/h and above is a modern train system. Therefore all the newly built train system in Nigeria are modern because they feature these things. Talking about high speed trains which are also called Bullet trains are mostly powered by electricity and runs at an average speed of 250km/h and above. With the above we cant say that because a train is not running at a speed of 250/h it's not modern. Not all countries can afford it and only few countries in the world have this kind. And it's mostly used for inter city operations. It's only Morroco that has done this. Nigeria we get there one day. It's one step at a time. And besides to me we are still one of the leading countries in Railway System in Africa. Thanks |
