All other migrants who pay the IHS, because they already pay tax and NI, so paying the IHS is triple taxation.

Are you for real?

ALL immigrants who meet the very high standards of a Tier-2 visa deserve the exemption.

An NHS immigrant is as useful as a Lecturer immigrant.

I'm new here. Does anyone know of any university in the UK that doesn't require tuition deposit for a Master's degree program.
And lastly can one submit a loan application approval letter to the UK embassy as proof of funds?

And lastly can one submit a loan application approval letter to the UK embassy as proof of funds? Why shoot yourself in the leg? No you cannot submit a loan application letter.
Straight refusal.

Yes you can use loan approval letter:

- a loan letter (the loan must be provided by your national
government, state or regional government, or by a government
sponsored student loan company or be part of an academic, or
educational loans scheme);
- official financial or government sponsorship available to you.

No, you can't except you've lived in the UK 3 years prior to your course start date + some other requirements. You can explore scholarships/grants/bursaries though.

I’m not very sure on what you mean by this.
If you’re referring to a loan from a Nigerian company or bank, yes that’s doable. That agreement is between you and the company.

If you’re referring to loan from U.K. company or bank, it’s almost impossible to get one. You wouldn’t have enough credit history and you barely find companies that loan to intl students. You cannot also access public funds.

Regardless of what the case is, you must show your tuition balance (after deposit payment) + approx £9,200 if outside university is outside London or £11k ish in London. This must be in your personal bank account or parents or legal guardian. You can replace this with a sponsorship letter from an authorised or recognised body.

I got a loan approval letter from progidy finance(International students loan provider). They are transferring my whole tuition to the university and my living expenses to my personal account when I get to the UK.
Progidy is very popular in the US and UK.
Will the letter not suffix for the proof of funds for tuition fee while I provide statement of account for my living expenses to the embassy.
Your input is needed here.
I even got another loan approval from future finance but they told me they can only grant me the loan after I arrived in the UK and submit my student ID card.

That will not work, you need to have that money ready before applying for visa.

You also need to make sure that that company is approved by Nigerian govt to provide loan to students else the embassy will not accept letter from them.

This is based on a friend's visa application within the past year; note that it's a slight deviation from the T4 rule that states that it must be an academic loan from your national government.

Your loan confirmation letter from Prodigy can be used as proof of finance to support your visa application as long as the loan isn't conditional; the only condition for disbursement of funds, if any, MUST be the procurement of your student visa.
Both prodigy and future finance are regulated financial institutions with an active educational loan schemes and are regulated by the FCA.

Ps: Since your school is on the list of prodigy approved institutions, they must have had questions around this (and students who have used this successfully in the past) so you should speak to your school; they should be able to answer your questions.

Has your friend considered checking the school website or emailing on how to change course? Usually it's straight forward subject to approval (like meeting the new course requirements)

Thanks for the clarification. The school I'm applying to have no problem with the loan.
it's only the embassy I'm concerned about if they will accept it as proof of funds.

@justwise, please I want you explain something to me please... For guy who’s married in Nigeria, he want to apply for masters in UK and take his wife along with him, probably his wife will be working while he’s schooling. Can it be possible? How much will he have in his account before submitting his application in embassy? Will both be interviewed? Please anyone that has adequate knowledge can also help out.... Thanks!
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:10am On May 29, 2020
UKVI shouldn't have an issue with it for the following reasons;
1. According to UKVI, the financial institution must be regulated by the FCA, PRA or the home regulator for the country that the financial institution is in and where the money is held. Prodigy meets this requirement because it has operational offices and the money for your loan is held in the UK (Prodigy is regulated by the FCA which is the financial conduct regulator in the UK)

2. Also, according the the UKVI, loan funds must be available to you before your travel to the UK but 2 exceptions apply to overseas visa applications; the 2nd exception is where prodigy falls. The 2nd exception allows for the payment of your tuition to your Tier 4 sponsor while your maintenance could be paid before or on your arrival to the UK; prodigy fulfils this requirement as this is usually contained in the general loan confirmation letter. Was this clearly stated in your loan confirmation letter as is the norm?

If you still have reservations, you could just fund your account with the required amount for visa application.

1. Yes, he can travel with his wife as his dependant; she'll be on the Tier 4 dependant visa.

2. He will need to have his full tuition fee/balance and maintenance costs for himself (£1,265*9 monthly for London and £1,015*9 monthly for outside London).
Dependants will need to show minimum maintenance costs of £845*9(Inside London) or £680*9 (outside London). The total of the above required funds will need to be in the account for both applications.

3. I'm not sure about a Tier 4 dependant being interviewed.

This your point of view reminds me of George Orwell’s Animal Farm.

All Animals are Equal; but some are more equal than others.

Let me therefore ask you a question.
Since you feel NHS workers deserve IHS exemption but not others.
Have you thought of a tier-4 student who uses his/her entire 20hr/week to work in an NHS-facility? The 20hour wages are taxed. NI is paid. Does that student not deserve an exemption too?

Every Migrant that meets the very strict tier-2 criteria irrespective of sector contributes massively to the UK. Unless you are saying NHS workers are 1st class. All Others aren’t.

Infact, what about the dependant partner of a non-NHS migrant who works in the NHS? Will he get an exemption?

This is entirely out of curiosity:

Is it worth it?
Taking a loan to go for a Masters degree.
I am really curious about the planned payment schedule. Get a massive job thereafter that pays well enough to offset the huge debt?

Yes you can travel with your wife if you can afford it, basically you need to have your school fees, maintenance money and that of your wife(some posts here have stated these figures)

Yes your wife can work full time while you study, actually it's a good thing because it will take off some of the financial burdens from you.

Really?
Do all non-NHS immigrants work from the "comfort of their homes" and even if they are white-collar does that mean they should be subject to triple taxation?

To put things into perspective, all those seeking a post-study visa will have to pay the Home Office 1,250 pounds up front for each year of the visa, in addition to the application fee, which will most likely not be less than the Tier 4 fee of 348 pounds..

If you luckily get a Tier 2 -worthy job after studying, Tier 2 migrants pay the IHS for 3 years upfront, in addition to application fees of 700 pounds per person. So a Tier 2 applicant will pay almost 4,000 pounds in fees for their 3 year visa. An applicant who is married with a child for instance, will pay 700 x 3 + 624 x 3 x 3, which is about 12,000 pounds in fees.

Such exorbitant fees are not fair for ANYONE to pay.
