I need the gurus to advise me. I am a medical doctor in private practice in Nigeria. I decided to relocate this last December so I did the part 1 of the board exam AMC MCQ and passed. I got a job in Australia so I am processing my limited registeration and my employer is sponsoring my TSS visa. I will be eligible for PR only after 3yrs of working with the employer on TSS VISA but I am 41 years this last march. If with this COVID 19, I can't resume earlier than march then by the time I am eligible for PR, I will be 45yrs old which will be the cut off point. I have another route which is to pass the clinical exam as soon as possible and after working for one year then I will be eligible for general registeration. With that I will get 65points immediately and by the time I add my age it is 80 already. With IELTS it will be more than 90. However I don't know wether the job will give me adequate time to read as the job I got is leading me directly to becoming a consultant GP in just 3yrs plus( subject to passing exams through PEP program too) So the last option is where I need advice. I am thinking of applying for PR directly while on TSS visa as a medical and welfare manager for 190subtype. I need vetasses.

Have you passed PESCI? I believe your employer would have told you that it is a requirement before you can start employment.

As good as your plan is, it does not look feasible because Queensland does not sponsor Health and Welfare Manager for 190. Only 491 and you must be working in that capacity in the last three months in Regional Queensland. You will not be employed as the practice manager except your employer will want to assist you with that which may be very difficult. It is easier getting state nomination outside Australia than when you are onshore. This is because most of the states will only sponsor you if you are living in their states. If you live interstate, it is very very hard to get nomination outside your state of residence. However, if outside Australia, you have luxury of choice to apply to all the states if you meet the minimum requirements.

Secondly, if you are going to be employed as a GP in training, your standard hours is 8 hours/day including 30 minutes break and 15 mins morning tea. This is the standard working hours, any additional hours may be overtime subject to your discretion. I don't know how difficult the AMC exam is but I reckon it will be little hard like every medical exams. However, if reading 3 hours every evening will be enough for you to pass, then it is doable. A lot of GPs sat for the exam while working too. You also can do it. This is the best shot you have at early PR. Sit for the exam while working.

Thirdly, if your hospital has minimum of 30 bed with additional services like radiology, optometry etc, you can assess as a medical administrator as suggested by someone. This is up to you to package your application appropriately. This may also give you early PR.

Hello,

Could you please expatiate on the emboldened text?

July 1st is the beginning of Australia's financial year. Occupation lists are reviewed and updated by this date. Some occupations are taken off while others are restored to the list and the list could remain the same.

65 is not a myth, few people have gotten ITA for 491 with 65 points and more. The image you posted is only for 189 and family sponsored 491 which is different from the state/regional 491.

190 and 491 have different criteria per state and per occupation.

Sir/ma. That was before. Since the year started that has not happened. Show me one single person who has gone in with your 65 and started their processing after nov 19th. One person pls

And you very much misquoted me. I'm not talking about before your regional sponsorship. Regional sponsorship alone adds 15points. Most ppl enter 90-95 immediately. So.....

Then most ppl here are talking from the past. Before everything was revised. No one here has mentioned starting processing after the revision of visas and meeting their cutoff. The ppl I know were not taken. Its why I've been following this thread. Looking for extra ways to get additional points just to meet up apart from schooling.

Yes, English test is required before assessment.

Yes, you can use you final year project.

You don't need to use your Masters degree as it adds no mark or value. It is same point with BSc.

If you had read the thread, you would have answered your questions.

Good day.. Please, I want to apply as a Secondary School Science teacher.. Please, will subclass 189 be fine for my Visa??

I'm glad you said the people you know. I know over 6 people who are not on Nairaland who have gotten ITA from TAS and ACT with 65 and 70 points since December till May, 2020. Please note that not everyone running this migration is on Nairaland. A very fresh one I can remember got ITA as a Cabinet maker with 65 from TAS within 12 days. Another got with 65 from SA - ICT Customer Support officer before the occupation moved to 75.

491 Family sponsored visa also gives you the 15 points.

Ways to get nomination faster is to assess for occupations like technicians roles with TRA. We hope July will bring forth good tidings

I do agree with tunlex01, however I understand the message Lislekelsey is trying to pass across. Yes after the November changes it's been difficult to secure 189, 190 and 491. Now the pandemic just made it worst. Yes the requirement is to have 65 points but the competition for places has increased, hence the increase in points required. Again, it's dependent on your occupation. Some require higher points and while others with 65 points (mostly trade occupations) you are good.

The message here is for people to aim higher than 65 points in order to increase their chances. The process cost a lot of money and it's one which requires proper planning and adequate information prior to proceeding, else you will be left disappointed.

ACT sponsorship is more on the matrix points. If you like have 200 points and you don’t meet the matrix cutoffs, you will queue until the EOI expires

Yes I am very aware of that. ACT works with their matrix point.

Very right. I was not just comfortable with the generalisation. Since November, it has not been flowing like it used to but I believe the new year will bring forth good news.

I think he can use trip advisor if he is looking for cheaper deals. ET and Turkish airlines are cheaper with 2 or 3 stops.

What of iom concession flight. Are ppl no longer using it? Can someone on 491 use it? I read they give more luggage limit and concession for ppl who are emigrating to Aussie.

Absolutely. Trip Advisor is a good option.
Concession flight with IOM is still available but not available for any other visa apart from Skilled migration visas.

I hope 491 is considered skilled migration.

In another news, there is an update from nsw on nominations. They said it is highly competitive and that ppl should try other regions.

491 is skilled migration but comes with conditions depending on states and due to the pandemic, most states have tighten their conditions and give preferences to certain occupations.

Hello everyone, I have a few questions.
(1) Is IELTS required before one can apply for assessment with Engineer Australia?
(2) Can a fresh graduate with limited professional experience use the projects done in school to write a CDR?
(3) For an individual with Master's degree, would it be necessary to send the credentials for B.Sc or the highest qualification alone suffices?
(4) Are unofficial transcripts allowed ( can it be uploaded) for assessment?
(5) Is WES evaluated transcript acceptable or it must be a transcript from the school?

Please, pardon me if answers have been provided to these questions in previous times.

Thanks for your time.

@silav, I would love to talk to you if you don't mind

Hello everyone, I recently came across this Australia post and I have been trying to catch up with reading and I love the way everyone is so helpful. I’ve actually been chasing Canadian immigration but I want to try this Australian option Incase I have a better chance.

Kindly help look at my profile:

Age: 38
15 years in banking
Current role: Digital Marketing since 2017
Education: MBA 2017
Ielts: R: 9, L: 8.5, S: 7.5, W: 7

I didn’t find digital marketing on the list ( that’s the title that appears on my reference letter), please what do I do?

Thanks in advance.

Why not state your all your roles since you started working. Also states your first degree and possibly school or number of years the course was taught.

To check your ansco code or know if your role is needed in Australia, you can go to www.anzscosearch.com, search, search by tasks , you will see suggestion of the matching job codes.

Also check the job function of marketing specialist and see if you fit.

I am a fellow newbie also jammed by Canada, let's wait for the experienced ppl to advise .

Please, I need clarification here, I have read the first page as well as some some research but not getting much clarification, rather, more confusion.
What is the difference between ween subclass 189 and 190? Is it just the POF and the fact that 190 is state nomination? Again, what does state nomination mean? Does it mean that once after application, the different states will be granted access to your profile, and then contact you if they are interested in you? Lastly, in all the subclasses, which has the highest potential for a positive outcome or more flexible?

Thanks
