I read here that Nigerian Unis are categorized into Tiers. and if your Uni is a tier 2, your 4 year bachelor degree could be downgraded to an advanced

diploma. Don't know how true that is, so please guys I need your clarifications. Thanks.

Check the occupation lists but on top of my head, no occupation on the Skilled list tallies with you mentioned.

I think you should include your MSc. The assessment requirements for your occupation seem quite straightforward and are the least complicated I have seen. There's some information on employment in this link below in case you hadn't already seen it:

CETL is a course like TEFL for teachers of English as second language.... Qualification course.... I studied English.
Found out that without CETL its almost impossible to teach English anywer outside the country. And ESL jobs are everywhere! Due to the influx of immigrants

Uniben is a Tier 2 university. The listed institutions are classified as Tier 1, others Tier 2. However, if your degree is a 5 year program, it will be graded as equivalent to Australia BSc.

I am 37 yrs just this May, I graduated in 2005 have Hnd in Electrical Engineering from Poly Ibadan

I started working since 2008, I worked in a bank for four years as an Info Tech & Telecom Engineer.

But since 2012 I have diverted my profession to Marketing, which I am still working as a State lead in a fintech organization. Last year I graduated in a private University with B.Sc in Computer Sci.

I am a married man with 3 kids but I want to first do my PR, due to money issue now and later apply for my family.

Pls I have read from page 1 and I don't know which program I can apply for based on my little experience above.

Pls I want someone and expert in the group to advise me on what to do.

Good morning everyone.

I am in the process of going for my skills assessment under VETASSESS for the skilled 190 immigration Visa. I am currently eligible for the role of Marketing Specialist based on work experience and having meet the minimum test score of 65 .

I currently work with a multinational FMCG company has a Sales&Marketing personnel. I have a B.Sc degree in Geology from a Nigerian University before obtaining another degree in Geology from a University in U.K which was a one year Top-up programme, I also obtained my M.Sc degree in Health & Safety Management from the same university in U.K.

My dilemma goes thus, will It be safe to exclude my B.Sc certification when presenting my documents to VETASSESS due to the shut down of schools and the stress involved in getting such document from a Nigerian University. Also for those that have previously applied, how best do I obtain a statement of service from my line Manager or the HR in my organisation without raising an eye brow due to the stated requirement on the statement of service document.

Please kindly guide and advice on how to proceed.

It is going to be hard for you to go through the process with your profile.

Marketing specialist is the occupation you are likely to assess for but you will get no experience as VETASSES will erase all your pre bachelor degree experience. Marketing specialist is a skill level 1 occupation requiring bachelor qualification.

Victoria, NT and NSW are the states offering nomination. NT is a gamble. Victoria requires job offer while NSW requires 5 years experience for 491, no requirement for 190 but may likely not nominate someone with less experience. If VETASSES doesn't award your experience, no way to get NSW nomination. Can you see the dilemma?

On the other hand, your HND and previous experience can qualify you for ICT help desk officer. However, you will not get any experience points as your experience in the last 10 years will be taken into consideration which will take 2 years off you.
For the occupation, SA requires 75 points at least, NSW - 5 years experience.


You should try Canada. Other option if you have the financial strength, go as a student then work out the PR post study.

Whatever your decision is, you must do a family application. In Australia, applying later for your spouse is a pain.

(4) Are unofficial transcripts allowed ( can it be uploaded) for assessment?
(5) Is WES evaluated transcript acceptable or it must be a transcript from the school?

Yes, English test is required before assessment.

Yes, you can use you final year project.

With EA, you can upload the student copy of transcript.

I can't say if WES evaluated transcript is accepted because I have not seen any did that before. Use the student copy. If in doubt, certify it as true copy of the original and upload.
