I can only liken them to a situation where a naked woman walks into the prison cell of a rapist, lays on his bed and takes a sedative to knock herself out. Most rapes aren’t occurring like this

They’re happening in familiar, personal environments and being committed by people they know, who are sick enough to infer consent from a figure-hugging pair of jeans alone. We know how warped Nigerians’ concept of ‘decency’ can be so let’s not act like the majority of cases are due to people walking naked in dark alleys somewhere. It’s important to teach preventive, protective measures (different to blaming), but sexual assault is more nuanced than this rigid idea of a rape scenario that you’re painting.
