The truth is, women are complicated beings(no pun intended). They have a kind of diverse lifestyles that can easily be abused if given the wrong orientation

They're extremely complicated, my brother.

How? By “indecent” dressing?

Not bombing? Terrorism? Corruption? Ritual killings, drug trafficking, kidnapping and all vices that makes you and your brothers occupy 99.813% of prisons?

Are you okay? grin

I'm sure you will agree with me that male and female alike, agree that terrorism, ritual killings and corruption are a menace to the society but somehow, a particular gender seems to always oppose anyone that tries to talk about indecent dressing.

We expected the LOGICAL gender to know better. I guess over time, their wives have realized logic is not in the genitals.

I was wondering if they really thought the argument they put forward was logical and made any sense or if they were actually trolling and trying to be provocative. If I am being nice I'd think it is the latter.

Penis logic. Has a different kind of twist, especially when it is ejaculated by a black penis...

In essence, you're saying that if a woman can see that it is inappropriate for a minor to dress like this because she's being sexualized, why can't they see that it is also wrong for a grown adult (who is more developed than a minor in every aspect..........) to dress like this. Lol this parallel you're trying to force out doesn't make sense, it's a question of what's age-appropriate, not 'virtue'.

What's sexual about a toddler on bikini? The word sexuality should be used on more sophisticated photos of a mature lady on p.yant and bra (or bikini, if that makes you feel decent) lol

I don't know if you're saying indecent dressing is the cause of rape, but it sounds like you're putting much of the onus on the victim. An adult has the right to wear whatever she wants, dressing isn't license to rape or assault. Your Bible tells you to be angry but not sin, use that same 'logic' here also, it's normal to be attracted, but that doesn't give anyone license to rape. Rapists are also attracted to newborn babies, grandmas, goats, women in hijabs, women in 'conservative' attire from historical days of old since you people have been raping since time immemorial, the rapist himself is the common thing here, but I get that using indecent dressing is always a convenient excuse for some of you.

Are you saying anyone that condemns indecent dressing is an advocate and supporter of rape? To be an anti-rape advocate, I have to support indecent dressing and tell men to stop having erection?

You weren’t just condemning indecent dressing, you were essentially implying that women should know that ‘indecent’ dressing attracts rapists if they know that a minor in a bikini will attract a pedophile, people who put blame on the victim (whether ‘partial’ or ‘full’) often use this talking point, you may not have said it directly but it came off as a very subtle way of shifting the onus of responsibility onto the victim for her rape.

Disliking indecent dressing isn’t the issue, it’s actually your right, I doubt anyone would care if you weren’t lowkey attributing it to the cause of being raped and the ‘destruction’ of a world where men are committing most of the vices, killing people willy nilly, wasting tax payers’ money taking up spaces in prisons like sardines and blowing hard earned money on all these ‘indecent’ women.

Let's not shift the goal post...

She wasn't opening a discussion about what crimes are a menace to the society lol, you said that women would ultimately destroy the world because of their 'indecent dressing', yet men account for most of these crimes, but as far as you're concerned women are the ones destroying the world. Please answer this particular question, not whether you agree it is also 'bad'

Ibk, you're simply reacting based on a preconceived idea about my stance on rape/rapists. I have not in any way justified rape on this thread.

My first contribution wasn't about rape. To shock you, I see no wrong in the picture especially since she probably copied her mother. Those condemning the photo ought to check themselves. What's the essence of doing things you wouldn't want your child to do, fashion-wise?

Ok, sometimes implications are just as clear as directly saying it....

Just to be 100% clear, do you think that the onus of responsibility for the attack is on the victim of rape if they're whatever someone classifies as 'indecently dressed' ('classified' because depending on perspective, this can range from small cleavage to bikini' for people)

The onus of responsibility for the attack is fully on the rapist. The punishment stated by our laws are for the rapist, not the victim. But that doesn't mean societies (including the victim) don't have a role to play either in the prevention or enforcement of laws.

Would you rather go naked because the rapist is to blame for a rape culture?

Should I leave my money on the road because the thief would be caught and arrested? Don't we all know that stealing is wrong? If I tell you someone stole my money, wouldn't you wish to know how and where it was stolen? If I tell you I purposely left the money behind at a restaurant, would you not use certain words like "careless"? Would you take my issue very seriously and in the same way you would for someone that got robbed in his house at gun point? If your answer is 'no', does it mean you support crime/stealing? If you answered 'yes', wouldn't you caution and tell me to be more careful?

It baffles me the way we try to rationalize certain things.

Bro, that is women for you.
They want to do the way they like but it is your problem how you deal with it without affecting them.

Some women will walk out with transparent clothes virtually showing everything when they know the effect it always have on men but they believe it is your problem and they can wear whatever they want since it is their body.
I like the scenario you painted.

Your analogies aren’t realistic. Not only are you comparing an inanimate object to a human being, but even the scenarios don’t paint a truthful picture of how rapes occur. I can only liken them to a situation where a naked woman walks into the prison cell of a rapist, lays on his bed and takes a sedative to knock herself out. Most rapes aren’t occurring like this

They’re happening in familiar, personal environments and being committed by people they know, who are sick enough to infer consent from a figure-hugging pair of jeans alone. We know how warped Nigerians’ concept of ‘decency’ can be so let’s not act like the majority of cases are due to people walking naked in dark alleys somewhere. It’s important to teach preventive, protective measures (different to blaming), but sexual assault is more nuanced than this rigid idea of a rape scenario that you’re painting.

What's unrealistic about the analogy since you believe in preventive measures?

I've not in any way mentioned that indecent dressing is the only reason men rape women. A careless attitude is not the only reason people steal. Banks with all their security and protective measures still get robbed in the same manner ladies on Hijab get rapped. Should banks do away with their security measures because robbers steal find a way to steal?? Should women dress seductively, visit some unknown guys at odd hours and places because you own your body?

You made a nice point though....just because indecent dressing and being in the wrong place at the wrong time is not an excuse to justify rape doesn't mean common sense won't function.
