You submit your application, pay IHS & visa fee and book your appointment.

Do you appear in person for this "appointment" ?
Is it a kind of physical interview ?

Yes, you do. It's a Skype interview. You have the interview after having your documents checked and enrolling your biometrics.

Mikeval001:
Hi Bleep,
As an applicant to one of our courses, we understand you want to know what the start of your first term at Birmingham City University will look like if you join us for your studies, including how you would be taught and what safety measures we'll have in place.

This is our pledge to our students:

The majority of your scheduled course teaching throughout the 2020/2021 academic year would take place face-to-face on campus. For most courses, this will begin on 21 September 2020. Exact dates for your course would be sent to you if you enrol as a BCU student.
We will offer a flexible arrival across the first four weeks of term for those who need it, with international students allowed to start at any point until the 8th week of term to allow for any quarantine period imposed by the British Government. Should you need to take advantage of this flexible arrival, we will make sure you do not fall behind in your learning by providing you with online teaching which you will need to access at home.
Our focus is on high-quality, small-group (groups averaging 15) teaching in person, with some digitally-enabled content to ensure no student misses any learning.
All on-campus activity will be delivered using all necessary safety measures to keep students and their academic tutors and advisors safe, including social distancing, and use of personal protective equipment, as appropriate.
You would still be able to take advantage of the academic and social opportunities which University life offers – with on-campus spaces made available to clubs, societies and volunteering run by our Students' Union.
You would also have access to a comprehensive programme of individual support provided by a range of student services including the Centre for Academic Success (study skills), Graduate Plus (employability skills), our careers service and our library and learning resources.
Our mental health and wellbeing team, including seconded NHS staff, are here to support you throughout your time with us to ensure you achieve your full potential.

Our amazing National Health Service (NHS) has taken care of people from around the world during this global pandemic and will continue to do so. In addition to support from the University, NHS services are available to both domestic and international students.

You may have heard about international travel measures being introduced by the UK Government. International students should not worry; Government has promised it will work with universities to ensure students are welcomed to the UK and are supported on arrival.

During this mixed study style of online and traditional face to face learning... What kind of limit will be on work hours per week ? Still 20 hours.. ?

2. Is it safe or wise to enrol for professional courses at the beginning of one's study in the UK... Am thinking it may be wise to make use of the online learning period to also enrol and prepare for professional certifications....

1. Refer to the .Gov website. I know that the work limit was relaxed a while back but it doesn't mean that it will always be.

2. Yes, you can.

Simply means that your hub accessibility will be partially unavailable (including for the use of clearance checks) because the hub will be used for the UCAS result process during the times stated. The result process might put a strain on the facility/application which is why other services will be disabled at the time.

If you have any questions about it, ask your school.

Saw this in my school hub, pls what does it mean.

You can book any day (I guess work days) from the 21st of June.
The lady asked for the age of the person doing the test. I guess that determines ao much one will pay...
Seriously that's much o...
Didn't think I will pay that much at all...

CAS is usually processed out from 3 months before resumption.
If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer less than 3 months to your school's resumption , you'll get your CAS processed immediately payment is confirmed. CAS takes about 2-3 days after that for most schools.

If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer more than 3 months before your course, the school will able to process your CAS when it's 3 months or less to your course start date. The CAS process usually takes about 2-3 days for most schools.

Let's assume I pay my initial tuition deposit.. Can I carry around £6k pounds in cash for tuition.. Does schools accept cash payments?

Some schools don't accept cash for security reasons. Check your school's policy on this.
Yes, you can carry £6k tuition in cash and as soon as you register in school, get a status letter (some banks require this in addition to your school ID, passport and BRP while some don't request for a status letter) to enable you open a bank account.
I'd advise putting your cash in a £ card (you can pay with this online or using your school's POS) if possible because that's safer since you won't be opening an account till after you register with your school and pick your BRP.

Yea. Children below 11years pay less while people 11 years and above pay the same fee.

Learnt Cranfield is located in a remote region, how easy is it to get work to support my stay & also add to my experience (CV)?

Are there any scholarship opportunities or tuition reduction for international students?

How is the cost of living at Cranfield?

Job prospects after studying at Cranfield? I really intend to stay back if possible.

Which other UK thread are you following?

Please mention
I need to get some information

inphoenix:
Oh well...

I'm following 2 other UK threads, and this is the only toxic one, mostly coming from the Skymoore1004 lady. It's just too bad! This thread is fast becoming a very crucial one because of the prospects of the Tier 4 visa and guidance is required to put people through, but with all the bashing and outright rudeness... it's just so sad and could be a turn off.

Please let's be kind to one another.

@mimilyrics..

Thanks for the Clarification's.

So UCAS is quite different from cas?

Simply means that your hub accessibility will be partially unavailable (including for the use of clearance checks) because the hub will be used for the UCAS result process during the times stated. The result process might put a strain on the facility/application which is why other services will be disabled at the time.

If you have any questions about it, ask your school.

Yes, they are different.
UCAS is an application portal for undergraduate and some postgraduate courses.
CAS is a unique number/document issued to you to support your student visa application.

Or you can just walk into any bank branch the uni uses and make payment. It's even easier opening one of the digital mobile banks (e.g Monzo, Starling) in the UK these days provided you have some form of ID.

Hello guys, my passport is expiring sometime in may next year and I intend travelling around October 2020, Do I need to renew my passport before applying for my visa?

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 4:21pm On Jun 12, 2020
No, you don't need to renew as long as you've got at least 6 months validity on your passport. If you apply by October, you'd still have 7 months.

Once your passport has 6 months or less (not more) on it, you can apply for a new one.

Hi there,

I hope you are well and staying safe.

I wanted to write to you to thank you for accepting your offer to the University of Sunderland. We know these are very uncertain times, so I wanted to tell you a little bit about what the University will be doing in September. We are planning to run our Autumn intake as planned; however we will be taking a Hybrid approach to learning. This means that some of your classes will be online and some of them will be in person. This means you will still be allowed to come to the UK to study.

I wanted to provide you with a comprehensive checklist of all the things you need to do in order to get your CAS – you have probably done at least a couple of these things, but it’s good to be sure so you can check them all off.

Hey guys, I have bachelor degree in computer science, so I'm looking at applying for a masters degree in either (cyber security, data science, software engineering, network security or IT project management) I would like to know which of these fields is in high demands in terms of job prospects and also if anyone is currently studying any of the courses and can give an insight about the course. And also suggestions of cheap schools will also be appreciated as my budget for tuition only is 9-12k pounds, thank you

And I feel so many students will deferre their offer to January.
