CelestineNelson:

It is very clear that you've not encountered God...
Let me tell you why you want to be an athiest

1. The freedom to believe and live the way you want is so important to you than the fact that they is someone in charge of the whole thing and having a standard that will hold you accountable to, is just way too much to submit yourself to him- because that means he might put a wet blanket in some of the things you want to do

2 maybe just because you can not prove his existence, you now concluded there is no God.
Before you come up with a reply to this go and think again...
Please Let me show you JESUS...I know God allow me to show you God...
And where did you get the notion that I want to become an atheist? Did I mention that in my post?
Fanatical muslims believe that anyone who is not practicing their form of religion is an infidel and should be harmed.
A lot of Christians on the other hand are crooked in their ways, they commit atrocities in the guise of being under grace. They claim to be Christians but their hearts are not renewed. They don't fear God, they only respect money and power. Some denominations don't interact with others because they feel those denominations are teaching false doctrines.
I believe in God and I strive to improve my relationship with him via his word. I study.
My dealings with God is not religion, it's a conscious relationship, a very deliberate one.

Stop jumping into conclusions... smh

first of all south Africa is western, western country is not by continent, Australia is western, new Zealand is,japan and south South Korea is,when you say western,it means practice not location, and when i talk about heaven dont mean paradise but eternity, don't get it twisted, when someone die they say he goes to heaven, paradise or hell no one is sure, but the way pink people lives, they don't care about eternity, thats why even when they find out asteroids are coming towards earth, the dont go to fasting and prayers to enter paradise, they either look for a way to stop it or get busy finding another planet that can inhabit mankind.they are hiding something from us, there is this movie about end of the world the title is either 2010 or 2012,i watched it around 2009,i was afraid then maybe it was a wake up call, but one thing i noticed in the movie is that from the beginning to the end of the movie, the said nothing about going to heaven, china was building ship while Americas, europeans and middle east rich people were busy buying space on the ship, but nothing waa mentioned of Africa in the movie, this Nigerian -british actor in half of the yellow sun was on of the main actors, this guys are not telling us something.

Of course I understand the sense in which you said whites are living their heaven on earth. Heaven means a place of perfection, beauty, peace, everything good etc. The instances I gave you only showed that life is not perfect for majority of people in the western world. An average Brit or American will never agree that they are experiencing heaven on earth.

Christianity:
1.- God just exists – forever, for no reason.
2.- God decides to create stuff after existing literally forever.
3.- God touches off the Big Bang, does nothing for 10 billion years.
4.- God creates Earth; again does nothing for 4 billion years.
5.- God creates dinosaurs…
6.- God kills dinosaurs.
7.- God creates mankind, in “his image”.
8.- God meddles wildly in the affairs of humans in a small part of the entire Earth for about 1500 years, including giving one tribal society rules to live by and helping them to defeat their enemies.
9.- God later comes back to earth in human form to preach for 33 years before dying a bloody death meant to serve as atonement for the flaws inherent in all humans (which he created).
10.- God ceases all manifestation and direct contact with humanity for the next 2000 years, leaving us with only an arbitrarily cobbled-together collection of metaphorical and contradictory revelations as our instructions for achieving eternal bliss.

SEEMS LEGIT…

I am just thinking nii ooo

What astonishes me is how otherwise intelligent and rational people can be quite silly when it comes to proclaiming their faith in an obviously imaginary deity. Why this deep desire to believe in magic? Acceptable in children but odd in adults. Then again most adults were subjected to a thorough and insidious brainwashing in childhood. That influence is very hard to shake off particularly so because we are social animals. Most of us find it difficult to resist established authority.

Christianity is a not a religion. True Christianity is a way of life. The Pharisees were practitioners of religion, and yet Christ condemned them because they did not have love for God in their hearts.

How can you love God whom you cannot see, when you cannot love your neighbour whom you can see? You hate people from a particular tribe, you hate people because they are progressing more than you, you stab people in the back to climb ahead, you gloat over people's misfortune, you live in malice and unforgiveness, you are not a Christian even if you attend all the programs and services in your church.

Not all who call on God, will enter into the kingdom. Why did Jesus make that statement? Go figure.

Christians have a religious book
Check

Christians have an organization
Check

Christians use imagery and several religious depictions
Check

Christians observe religious celebrations
Check

Christians have sacraments,creeds,rotes
check

Should I continue

Did I say Christianity is not a lifestyle ?

Can't a word represent two things.
You can say Christianity is a lifestyle or relationship and all what not,its fine,I don't disagree but the term "Christianity" primarily represents a religion whether u accept that or not.
If hey give u form to fill and it comes to identifying ur religion what are u going to fill ?

Despite withdrawing from religion I found myself even having a better moral compass which I cant explain. We are throwing away common sense, hardwork and universal principles to leave in illusion. At the end of my observation I have come to the conclusion that its what you do for yourself that counts more.

When I see poor people dying of hungry in a country which have the capacity to be the global industrial hub I know we have throw away common sense, Nigeria biggest investment to South Africa is Religious buildings (Church) while here in Nigeria the South Africans brought us MTN, DSTV, SHOP RITE e.t.c which employs thousands of people and gives profit to our Investors inventing in the stocks and shares of those companies I realise religion is lack of common sense.

No amount of religion can make you succesful without application of common sense.
No amount of religion can make your marriage succesful without application of common sense and consideration for your partner.
No amount of religion can a nation grow and prosper without application of common sense, productivity and good policies.

At the end of it I think am leaving religion, its not worth it. Even uprightness and moral comes from a person inner conviction and not because of religion.

Bull crap baldadash. You know nothing kid. Instead of you to be fighting for an egalitarian society in which rule of law and good governance prevails, you're ranting about religion. Is religion the cause of poverty in Africa? Is religion responsible for the poor governance we have in Nigeria or Africa? Infact religion opposes the oppression of the masses as well stated in the holy books

Let me tell you, most of the highly developed countries we have today, their foundation are based on the tenents of bible principles. UK, US, France, Italy, Germany are where they're today be cause of their believe in religion. US was established by respectable men of God like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and other men of God. Today america motto is God bless america.
Even the greatest scientists the world ever had, many of them are from Christian backgrounds. Michael Faraday was a church organist, Isaac newton was a church chaplain, Robert Hook was a pastor, he helped built the Westminster abbey. Most of world inventions today are from Christian adherents. So be guided op. Religion has helped to bring morals, and discipline and not otherwise.
Fight for good leadership and governance and leave religion out of your misery.

Christianity didn't stop Americans from doing doing slave trade.
Even the Bible justifies slavery.

The Americans that made laws to segregate black people are Christians.

The Nazi that killed 3 million Jews are Christians too.

If christianity in Germany couldn't stop them from killing 3 million jews, how will the same Christianity make Africa great

You claimed the achievement of certain countries are because of Christianity and I reminded you that the richest country in the world is dominated by Muslims.

Now you have admitted that Islam has nothing to do with the wealth and progress of Qatar and UAE.

Likewise Christianity has nothing to do with the progress of America.

yes because and i think that because their plans are no more working out, most of their allies they are stealing from are now wising up, look at Venezuela, maduro is holding his ground and its affecting America, iran too,The JCPOA deal fell through even tho the European wanted the deal to hold because they need Iran resources but after it fell through provocations began, the started attacking themselves, before America will intimidate likes of iran and Venezuela to get what they want but things have changed, the only place they are still looking is Africa and thats because they distracted us with religion, instead of going to school we are going to church.most people dont even know how bad the Americans want what they are sleeping on every day.

Qatar and United Arab Emirates are one of the most developed and richest countries in the world.

They practice Islam not Christianity.

How did their country get so rich and developed without your favourite religion Christianity

Religious war is responsible for the loss of millions of lives in history.

The Christian crusaders slaughtered millions of people to spread Christianity.
The Muslim jihadist killed millions as well to spread Islam.

Go and read your history books.

The damage religion caused mankind far outweighs whatever good you think it did mankind.

In the dark ages religion tried to block the progress of science and technology.

The Catholic Church in the the time of Spanish inquisition executed people who tried to develop the knowledge of science.

Go and study the stories of martyrs of science and you will see dozens of scientists who were killed for practicing science which was considered to be from the devil by the Catholic, Roman and Spanish inquisitions.

List the good things religion brought to mankind and I will list a hundred bad things it did.

Those countries you mentioned are built up by the European christians. Christianity invented d technology being used in those countries.
Religion through christianity brought education and modern civilization. Read d makers of civilization, and see how many of them were christians. Africans should focus more on leadership and leave religion out of its problem
