Your relationship with Christ matters forget about religion and focus on Christ. The Bible says'' Look unto God the author and the Finisher of our Faith.

Which book? The one written half a century after the death of Christ? We all know words of mouth ain't reliable don't we?

With my personal Experience, Observation and inner conviction, I think I dont want to be part of any religion again. This thing is truely an opium of illusion meant for people who cant take their destiny in their hands and for a sheeple masses.

Despite withdrawing from religion I found myself even having a better moral compass which I cant explain. We are throwing away common sense, hardwork and universal principles to leave in illusion. At the end of my observation I have come to the conclusion that its what you do for yourself that counts more.

When I see poor people dying of hungry in a country which have the capacity to be the global industrial hub I know we have throw away common sense, Nigeria biggest investment to South Africa is Religious buildings (Church) while here in Nigeria the South Africans brought us MTN, DSTV, SHOP RITE e.t.c which employs thousands of people and gives profit to our Investors inventing in the stocks and shares of those companies I realise religion is lack of common sense.

No amount of religion can make you succesful without application of common sense.
No amount of religion can make your marriage succesful without application of common sense and consideration for your partner.
No amount of religion can a nation grow and prosper without application of common sense, productivity and good policies.

At the end of it I think am leaving religion, its not worth it. Even uprightness and moral comes from a person inner conviction and not because of religion.

your eyes. don clear,I.left since 2009 and I have been happier.

I don't get u bro!

We need to a have a Relationship with JESUS CHRIST.

Christianity is not a Religion as people say!
Being a Christian is having a Relationship with JESUS. In a lay man's word it is Having JESUS in you.

A Sinner man /woman does not have JESUS irrespective of Whatever you claim you are.

A Christian is not a Sinner and a Sinner is Not a Christian.. 1 John 3:8-9

Having a Relationship with JESUS is the key!

You do that By Acknowledging you are a Sinner
You Confess your sins to JESUS
You Ask JESUS to come into you. See the Prayer of Salvation on our Signature.

If you do that and you mean it, you are automatically saved! You are born again!

You need to begin a solid Foundation with JESUS.

You have The Holy Bible to guide you
You could also get a Bible Believing Church were you will be taught to know more about JESUS.

Don't fail to repent whenever you go astray!

I stopped when you said "get the bible to guide you". You were making so much sense before that

All your head is full of memory verse and Jesus Christ. I'm just curious - do you have a life outside the Bible? Without speaking about the Bible, can you hold a three minute conversation on any topic?

You see, you have become like the Pharisees and Saduccees who wore their religion for all to see - so they could be counted, so men could praise them. They screamed loudest that they knew God, yet when God stood in human form before them, they failed to recognize him.

Hope the Christ mind in you doesn't see this as an attack, rather just a piece of advice - admittedly maybe unwanted.

The truth is, Jesus Christ is the standard for uprightness and complete moral guide. If you can emulate him in all his ways, then you will be free indeed, no wonder, he said is the truth, and generally when you know the truth, the truth shall set you free. Church is a building which can be likened to school. Of course you can equally read your textbook at home, but still, you need enlightenment on some things. Hope u guys understand my analogy

This here is the problem with belief. U are asked what u need the belief in a creator for, u say its a personal thing. U know there is nothing personal about it... U just know that ur reason will hold no water.

Why exactly do people hold unto rubbish is the really amazing thing here.

It's funny when religious people are against religion, but still believe in a god.

Op, you may have bn following a very wrong religion or you religion leaders are blind and lack wisdom.

My own religion taught me there there can't be success without practical aspect of it.
It tells me that faith without work is useless.
It also tells me that God says, I will bless the work of thy hands. That means that God wants us to get busy with somethin and He will bless that hand work. If you are lazy, when He wants to bless you, He will not see any work in ur hand. So no blessing for u and that means no success.

My religion also taught me that my marriage will be successful cos I am a member of a particular religion.
It tells me, Man love you wife and take care of her just as Christ loved His Church to a point of laying down His life for his church.
It also says, wife, respect your husband and be submissive to him in all good things.
Doing the above will bring success to a marriage.

For a successful nation, my religion encourages good leadership and how to make a nation successful.
It tells me that when a righteous man is a leader of a nation, the people will rejoice and the nation will grow.
A righteous leader here is that that is not corrupt.
A leader that no innocent blood is found in his palms.
The one that has the betterment of his ppl at heart.
My religion never supports any leader that do not do the above things, even if the leader is the most influential in the religion.

So Oga, go and find out where ur problem is from. I don't think it is religion. Unless u are practicing ur religion the wrong way or ur religion is a bad one.

Is God a religious person, which religion does he practice?

Just wait for the herd from the deluded lands to come for you. Awon omo Daddy GOs won't like this post at all.

I have come to the conclusion that there's no way you'll be highly intelligent and at the same time be comfortable in any religion. This is simply because intelligence drives you to ask questions and you will never be satisfied with anyone asking you to use faith to bridge the gap of ignorance or to use faith to imagine the ignorance doesn't exist.

Religion is the tool of losers, those who have accepted the horrible fate forced upon them by their collective irresponsibility and fear. In fact, I believe the concept of heaven and paradise was either a mental contraption developed to make sense of man's suffering in his present state on earth, or a senseless imagination of someone on drugs.

Religion appears to be a lazy mind's tool to make sense of things loftier than himself. More like a tale told to a child to explain inconvenient phenomena. Like when a child asks you, "Mummy where do babies come from". Then the mother goes, "Santa Claus brings them".

Religion is the "Santa Claus brings them" which only serves the purpose of quietening the child for the time being, but is both illogical and useless.

Religion is worthless but The Spirit of Life in Christ is where the real koko is.

Go and study The historical Quakers. They were able to simultaneously hold very moral and spiritual beliefs while being highly successful businessmen of their day.

The current Pentecostalism has failed because it has been unable to uphold either side well.

Barclays and Lloyd's Bank were founded by Quakers. Also Cadbury and Rowntree.

If you look around you and you cannot see spiritual people who are highly successful whether in Business or Career that's because such people don't make noise not because they don't exist.

yes because and i think that because their plans are no more working out, most of their allies they are stealing from are now wising up, look at Venezuela, maduro is holding his ground and its affecting America, iran too,The JCPOA deal fell through even tho the European wanted the deal to hold because they need Iran resources but after it fell through provocations began, the started attacking themselves, before America will intimidate likes of iran and Venezuela to get what they want but things have changed, the only place they are still looking is Africa and thats because they distracted us with religion, instead of going to school we are going to church.most people dont even know how bad the Americans want what they are sleeping on every day.

Oga, my point to you is that no part of the world is perfect. People may have the good things of life in the West but doesn't necessarily mean they are happier than their African counterparts. There are rich people who suffer from depression and endless crises in their homes, while some poor people are living in peace and tranquility. Peaceful life is beyond the material things we can see.

What the governments of the US and European nations are doing don't summarise the lives of average citizens of those countries. Whether America is able to steal from Venezuela or not has little or nothing to do with the quality of lives of average Americans. There is no documented proof that Americans were happier 30 years ago than they are now.

"Instead of going to school, we are going to church..." What kind of rubbish talk is that? Did anybody tell you they couldn't go to school because they were going to church? Schools are open from Monday to Friday while churches are open on Sundays. Has anyone been denied of going to school because of church?
Today, there are many Europeans and Americans who no longer go to school (beyond secondary or high school). Many of them don't even go to universities anymore yet at the same time, they don't go to church. How come you're linking poor education with going to church?

Bull crap baldadash. You know nothing kid. Instead of you to be fighting for an egalitarian society in which rule of law and good governance prevails, you're ranting about religion. Is religion the cause of poverty in Africa? Is religion responsible for the poor governance we have in Nigeria or Africa? Infact religion opposes the oppression of the masses as well stated in the holy books

Let me tell you, most of the highly developed countries we have today, their foundation are based on the tenents of bible principles. UK, US, France, Italy, Germany are where they're today be cause of their believe in religion. US was established by respectable men of God like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and other men of God. Today america motto is God bless america.
Even the greatest scientists the world ever had, many of them are from Christian backgrounds. Michael Faraday was a church organist, Isaac newton was a church chaplain, Robert Hook was a pastor, he helped built the Westminster abbey. Most of world inventions today are from Christian adherents. So be guided op. Religion has helped to bring morals, and discipline and not otherwise.
Fight for good leadership and governance and leave religion out of your misery.

Another Black Man listing the achievements of White Christians, .

Since you claimed Religion helps bring moral and discipline, how morally upright and disciplined are Africans .

From your logic, if religion is responsible for the development of Europe, Isn't religion as well responsible for the underdevelopment of our country .

the Europeans and Americans that stopped going ti school dont feel the necessity because they have people helping the country to develop but in Nigeria and Africa we need young people to go to school than worship centers because we are still underdeveloped, we need the young minds to depend on themselves than depending on God because is not coming to help the continent, we will help ourselves.
