Don't get lost bro, it's a simple logic
You are in a country where education is seen as a key to wealth
You are in a country where religion is seen as a source of wealth
You are in a country where money drives even ur religious leaders
You are in a country where orientation is crippled

Your observations are correct, but bro, religion is not practiced the right way in this country.
Religion is a personal thing, a relationship between you and your maker, sefini.
When God cursed Adam nd eve, He told them they will labour to feed, it is basic.
If u no work, u no go chop!!!

Pastors saw the gullibility in nigerians and harnessed it, a fool will take all his earnings and give it to a pastor to build a self proclaimed house of God, leave his family hungry and tell u he is sowing seed, madness!!!
God doesn't need ur money, pay ur tithe, it's just 10%, keep the rest of ur 90, ND in islam, if ur income is not consistent ur not eligible to pay no tithes.

Don't confuse people's foolishness for religion, be good, read ur Bible/Quran, be kind, give if you have, encourage others, pray to your God, work hard for your money. Enjoy your life bro.

You been Deceived bro!

That's why the Doctrine of once Saved forever Saved is false!

Until you consciously surrender to JESUS. You are not saved.

If in the Course of your walk with GOD, you fall, you need to ask for Forgiveness..

Don't live with that thought that you can't stop sin! It's a devilish principle from the pit of Hell!
Bro, even being a nuisance on nairaland is a sin. You sound so hypocritical and ridiculous. I wish you a nice evening.

Religion is man's failure of reaching God while Christianity is God's success of reaching man

Religion is blinded by theories and doctrines.

The Kingdom values is imbibed in practical Christian living. Our focus is to be Christ like who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross and He is right now our advocate.

Christ is our ultimate example.

You are just talking abt Christian forgetting that there are several other religions and even that Christianity you are talking about is divided into several denomination. Its so bad that pple from a certain church cant marry from another church.

Now I want to ask you a question? If your parent were not christian what are the chances that you wld be a christian today?
I was talking of religion generally, using my faith Christianity as a case study to explain that religion has influenced many of the development we have in d world today. Islam also influenced some of d development of some countries like Saudi and UAE. Even China is religious with its Buddhism

Since you claimed Religion helps bring moral and discipline, how morally upright and disciplined are Africans .

From your logic, if religion is responsible for the development of Europe, Isn't religion as well responsible for the underdevelopment of our country .
Don't blame religion for the problems of Africa, blame poor leadership, cos d holy books do not support bad governance. African have refused to develop and liberate themselves, so I blame that on ideology not religion

JESUS WAS CHARGED WITH THE CRIME OF BLASPHEMY AND SEDITION BY ROMAN AUTHORITY AND WAS KILLED

NO HUMAN CAN DIE FOR ANYONE'S SIN.

YOU ARE ALONE WITH YOUR GOD IN THIS LIFE

THE ALMIGHTY GOD DOES NOT NEED THE BLOOD AND SACRIFICE OF AN INNOCENT MAN FOR HIS ATONEMENT.

GET A LIFE!
USE YOUR BRAIN!
Yes Jesus was killed because he surrendered willingly. He could hv used his power to evade arrest, but submitted himself for the atonement of our sins. And u know what, he rose after d third day, and descended to heaven. So he's not dead. He still lives.

May you have UNCOMMON ENCOUNTER with Jesus Christ soon. So your eyes of understanding will be opened. People like Paul persecuted Christians he called them names just like you do But in the book of Act 1:1-end he encountered Jesus Christ and since then he (Paul) PREACHED Jesus Christ throughout his lifetime. Give your life to HIM TODAY. Jesus lhoves you.

Lols... You see the only example you could give is what is written in the story book u call bible. Everything you know about jesus Christ was taught to you by ur enemy, nothing you know about jesus was a self learning... Its all smtn they told u in some books which is full of errors, contradictions, immoral acts, hate etc.

Have you ever taught of how the world u live in is so perfect without errors and the claim person who created this perfect world sent his book that is so imperfect? Just think about it... Only human being does things imperfect and that's d bible or Qur'an.

Answer me this if will and you will realise ure only being deceived.

Tell me one thing, just one thing a believer in jesus can do that a non believer in jesus can't. Just one thing. You can't claim superiority and not do something superior.

If you can't point a single thing jesus can do that no other god or one thing a believer in dat jesus can do dat no atheist or a believer in anoda god can't do then jesus is of no different from d rest.

Despite withdrawing from religion I found myself even having a better moral compass which I cant explain. We are throwing away common sense, hardwork and universal principles to leave in illusion. Your resolution is what religion truly is - a lifestyle guided by common sense and love for your fellow man. What we have in Nigeria is a man made religion founded on hypocrisy, self-delusion and wickedness. This here is what isn't worth it.

Don't surrender yet... You cant find true salvation by being a coward.
Let's just reason with our open-mind. God gave us the brain for a reason...
Forget your bible. It didn't fall from heaven. It was written by men like you and I. HOW ARE WE SURE THE TUE GOD TRULY INSPIRED THEM TO WRITE SUCH BOOK?

IF THE SLAVERS WHO CAME IN IN SHIPS TO STEAL, RAPE, KILL AND KIDNAP DIDN'T COME ALONG WITH THEIR SO-CALLED MISSIONARIES, WOULD YOU HAVE KNOWN ANYTHING ABOUT CHRISTIANITY??

Please get understanding. The answers to your questions are obvious if you stop thinking according to flesh and beging to think spirit.

These things happened in the flesh but have a spiritual signification - this is why God wanted it that way. God is a spirit, remember. His ways are higher(spiritual) than ours(carnal).

E.g when we see blood/death, God sees life. He is able to raise the dead back to life. When we see death of the innocent. God sees purity and sinlessness. God was pleased with Christ's death because it would save everyone, because he loves everyone. You might then ask, why did God NEED these things to happen ? Couldn't He just snap his fingers and make everything right ?? God couldn't, not out of incapability but out of integrity. God can't break his own laws. That would make him a sinner, which He isn't. His laws must be obeyed, even by Him.

The blood of Christ had to be shed, because that was the only way to pay/make atonement/fulfill for the law of for the sin and death over and against all men. God made men subject to sin because if he didn't, we would know good and evil to be like Him. His vision is for every last one of us to be like Him. Selah.

I will stop here. Get to know Yahweh. You can get started by observing and understanding his laws that guide your very existence and the entire world he made as well.

Finally, Jesus wailed on the cross because God indeed forsook him at that moment. Jesus had God living in him all his life. At that moment, Jesus being in the flesh felt total absence of his Father and he felt lost at that moment. Why was it important that Jesus feel this way, you might ask ?

HE HAD TO FEEL IT BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT DEATH FEELS LIKE. JESUS CAME TO DIE AND HE HAD TO DIE COMPLETELY. HE HAD TO DIE WHILE ALIVE AND HE DIED AND BECAME DEAD FOR THREE DAYS. HE HAD TO FULLY PAY WITH FULL DEATH SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH IT. NOW IF YOU PUT OFF THE FLESH, YOU PUT ON LIFE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. "to be absent from the body IS to be at home with the Lord"

Tell Jesus thank you.

Religion is just part of the hindrance to achieve a developed nation. To me, it largely deals with corruption, nepotism, and lack of patriotism. I say this because some nations around the world that are as religious as Nigeria are regarded as developed.
To me religion basically entails you having a genuine relationship with God, and as such you must believe that he is real and the most powerful being in the universe. You don't really have to be fanatic, just make sure you love Jesus and if you love him you would ensure to do things that makes him happy and avoid things that doesn't. If you annoy him, ask him to forgive you through prayers and if he offends you sincerely tell him through prayers (remembering that he is the almighty being). Just flow with him and seek for success like he isn't helping you, because according to his word (the Bible), he has given you the power to make wealth.
In all essence, life with God is a happy and well fulfilled life. Just live by the laws imprinted in the Bible and enjoy your communion with God cheesy
