PLAGIARIZED
EPISODE 8
EPISODE TITLE- The Winner

As Samuel walks in, his blood wakes up his brain, though he thought himself already awake. His smile grows of its own accord and it can either let him see what he ignited or hide it, either way, he's the most fun thing in his world..., It's as if there's a trail of gunpowder in his veins and he have the only match, letting it spark, bringing his soul out to play....

With Festus tagging behind him, both men respectively dressed on suits wowed stylishly as they walked into the gargantuan edifice ...

"Mr Samuel..."A young girl holding a tablet nicely and smartly dressed approached them..

Samuel manage a smile.., he was happy, almost giddy, he brood over that moment, that moment he was called and told he won twenty million naira, he couldn't contain his joy and couldn't wait for the day he was asked to come claim his money...

He arranged his suit and wear a smile when band of journalist flash cameras in his face, he's here not as who he was but a millionaire...

"Mr Samuel please follow me, the board of directors is expecting you.."The young lady said...

"Thank you..."Samuel replied with a smile playing on his lips, he turn his smiling face at the journalists who were beginning to throw questions at him but were held back by security, without a flinch he followed the young lady into an elevator, he watch with fear of messing up since he's never entered an elevator as the young lady selected the floor..

He glance at Festus and gave him an eye shot when he noticed how scared Festus was., he won't take it lightly with him if he messed up..

The door of the elevator opened when it got to the selected floor, they stepped out, Samuel's mouth almost dropped at a cluster of four high tech buildings...The buildings were large, smoked glass and steel, each one joined to the next by a covered walkway...

"This is heaven.."Festus whisper to him..

Samuel said nothing in return, instead he held his head high and follow the young lady, he prefer to been seen as a civilised person than an idiot who's yet to see the marvelous things of life....

Samuel's heart raced a bit when the young lady opened a door and he saw people sitting round a glass table, some were white men while others are black...

"Mr Samuel.."The young lady call out spuning around to face him...."Please take a seat..."

Samuel sigh, his sigh was of a softly deflating, it was as if a tension had lifted yet left him with a melancholy instead of relief...., he took a step to walk towards the chair with his face held high, when Festus tried to follow, the lady stopped him..

"Mr Samuel only sir..."The young lady told him..

"I'm his PA.."Festus blare out immediately..."You can ask him, I'm his PA.."

Samuel felt embarrassed, how can Festus act like he doesn't know where he is and the dignitaries in his sight...

"Kendri..."One of the black men sited call out..."Let him.."

The lady nodded and allowed Festus to join Samuel at the chair....

"We're so pleased to finally see you in person Mr Samuel.."One of the men said when Samuel and Festus were finally sited..

"Thank you sir.."Samuel replied with a wide smile..

"You wrote a great story...."The man continued..."As a matter of fact the entire board was pleased with your marvelous work.., you're truly blessed with a tangible talent of writing.."

"Thank you sir.."Samuel replied praying they don't ask a question he'll have no answer to, though before he came, he fully prepared himself for anything funny..

"What inspired you to come up with such astounding heart rending piece?"

"Well sir.."Samuel said before he inhale softly..."A lot of things inspired me, you see my mother died when I was just 10, it was so painful giving the fact I was and still an only child who came from a very poor family..., my father was a drunkard, he brought nothing and did nothing for the family.., he became worst after my mother died.."He pause to see their reaction, he caught sight of the white men glancing at each other.., if they were beginning to garner pity for him..., then it's the right time to drop more spark in the fire...."I had to fend for myself..."He continue.."At such a young age, I dropped out of school and began doing all kinds of work to feed myself and my always drunk father..., life wasn't fair so each night i pray, i persevered, I took my pains, my sorrows into writing and I realise writing the story of my life and the unwelcome gridlocks of the society was easing and taking a huge load from me.."

"The lores of a woman is such a fair and delightful piece that depicts the challenges of women in our modern society..."Another man said..."How you came up with such a fascinating piece is wonderful.., you're indeed talented, I must confess, I've never come across a young and vibrant youth like you are, who can patch the pieces, filter out the lapses and present a good solution in writing..I'm perplexed ..."

"Thank you sir...."Samuel said..

"What were your challenges towards completing this wonderful piece..?"Another man asked

Samuel sigh and kept quiet for a moment, when he got what to say.., he smiled and open his mouth to talk..."The journey wasn't smooth sir, there were lots of discouragement from my peers and close friends, at a time I almost gave up writing because there was no way to publish any of my works because there was no money and I had no Hopes of getting any soon..., but I guess you can't leave passion even if you want to..., writing the lores of a woman was tough.., I can't count the number of sleepless nights I had thinking of what to write..., I get lost most times but then I had to look deep into the society and relate the happenings around me to my personal life and voice it out in writing.."

"So what exactly motivated you to pen down this bewildering piece of work..?"Another man ask

"Happenings around me and the things I've heard motivated me sir.."

"Wow..."One of the men exclaimed...."We're so proud of you.."

"Thank you sir.."

"Well our auditors have gone through your story, after a careful screening, we arrived at a conclusion and we're proud to announce to you you're a one and only winner of the writing challenge.., as at today, you're worth the sum of twenty million naira Mr Samuel..., congratulations are in order..."

"Thank you sir..."Samuel said smiling

"As per our policy, the twenty million will be split into three parts..., five million naira will be cash, another five million will go for the publication and marketing of your story worldwide, ten million will go for an already prepared and furnished bungalow downtown..."

"Wow..."Samuel slack-jawed...."Thank you very much sir.."

"This you deserve and everything else.."The man said...."We would have ended with twenty million naira but fortunately great luck shone on you.., a client of ours who's pleased with your work has offered you a sum of an extra ten million naira to encourage and congratulate you on your wonderful piece of work..."

Samuel felt giddy with excitement. he wanted to run, to shout, to tell everyone he is rich...but he had to wait. he couldn't sit down so he stood up...."Thank you sir, thank you very much sir..."

"Please sit down Mr Samuel.."The man said..."The board of directors were of the opinion of getting you a car with the extra ten million naira but if you need it in cash in addition to your five million naira, you can speak up..."

Samuel glance at Festus then he look back at the men, he thought of what he could be doing with a car, when nothing tangible came up, he said..."I want the cash sir.."

"Congrats then..., you're thirty million naira rich..."The man said

"Thank you sir.."Samuel said

"Well gentlemen..."The man said turning to the rest of his colleagues..."Join me let's unveil his prize..."

The men stood up, Samuel and Festus did same, and together they followed them into a hall, they watch as journalist began to troop into the hall, when Samuel saw a covered board, a tear fell from his eyes.., this is happening..., just like that, he's a millionaire..

"Mr Samuel.."A man called him.

Samuel wipe his tears with his handkerchief before series of camera flashes light on his face....

"Mr Samuel you're on live TV now."The man said to him...."Please step forward.."

Samuel did as he was told, his breathe hasten as the prize board was unveil vividly showing the win prize of twenty million naira..., that moment, his head revisit his past, he sniffled and tears drop down from his eyes and he quickly wipe them off with the handkerchief...

The man smiled when he noticed the tears..."On behalf of the chairman and every worker of this great company, I announce the brand winner of the writing contest orchestrated by our firm..., Mr Samuel Okweche..."

Samuel smile but couldn't do anything to stop the tears rolling from his eyes as he was handed the price board..., series of flashes from cameras flash on his face..

"Congratulation sir..."People chorus..

"Congrats buddy.."Festus whispered..

Samuel lowered his head knowing fully aware he didn't deserve it, he isn't a writer, he has never hold a pen to write anything..., someone else should be in his stand but fùck life, he never dreamt to take anyone's spotlight, life bend him this way and now he's rich and connected and that's all that matter..

"Are you seeing this mother..."He mutter as camera flashes on his face...."Your son have arrived..."

What do you do when you discover someone stole your hardwork and is already making millions from it....?

Nawa ooo....

So Many people are blaming Samuel because he posted another person work who had no hope in herself...

had it been that she posted, by now she would have been enjoying the work of her hand

Am not encouraging what Samuel did but it should be a lesson to Everyone... Don't lose anymore opportunities

Cease it
Believe in yourself

**Sadly..**
Sam, I don't blame you.
Anita, i don't blame you either. Prize givers, i don't blame you. Anita's brain, it's you i blame. If only you knew how to translate 'TRY LUCK' To Anita's comprehension.
If only silver1996 installed sense to Anita when he created her.
Infact, i blame the money for not knowing it's rightful owner.

why you dey look me? I am vexing that samuel got my baby's prize and you are starring at me. Mtcheew *walks away to get more popcorns*
