Hi Ralph, I need 230,000 naira. Can you please match a quote of 525 form Ace today? I can transfer the pounds equivalent to you. I have attached the rate from ace.
RalphJean:
Just like a previous person posted, I too have Naira. I'm looking for POUNDS - school fees cannot pay itself biko.
Does anyone wish to send some much-needed money home?

I'll probably need the reverse in a few weeks, pulling funds out but right now, I want to send some down. Do you still have some spare left? Looking to complete today though.

Even 10 people can be on a bill ... a bill can contain the different adult occupants and if its ten people then hey cheesy. So 2 different names is absolutely fine

hello my people, i want to open an account in the UK but i don't have any utility bill in my name but in my parents name, is there any way to go around this?
Monzo only need you to prove you’re a legal resident by snapping your PR card or something and that’s it.

I wouldn't advise that for now because of issues that may arise. UCard which is like Monzo currently has an ish with one of its partners which has temporarily trapped the funds of so many people. The financial regulations that apply to brick and mortar banks don't fully apply to online banks. FCA is trying to fix the situation and existing loopholes so that people don't lose their money.

Thank you @Madamekofo. I am also a physiotherapist, I have over 8yrs of clinical experience with the hope of Tier 2 sponsorship.
I am about to start the process for HCPC, just need to collect some document from my school after the lockdown is over.

Pls I want to ask you some questions...

1. Can IELTS be waived?

2. How plausible is getting a job from Nigeria as physiotherapy is not on the skills shortage list?

Thank You.

MadameKofo:

I haven't been on here in quite a while, apologies for the late response. I am physiotherapist in the UK on a spouse dependent visa. Do you have your HCPC license and how many years of clinical experience do you have?

This is not correct. Monzo is a bank with a full banking license. Their business model is different as they are digital-only but that doesn't make them any less capable of handling your deposit. The money you put in your Monzo account is protected up to £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

That was a note of caution; notice that I said I wouldn't advise it for now (my opinion, not a must-do), not that it wasn't okay to bank with them. I know it's got a banking licence. It's the same model with UAccount; funds are also protected but there are certain loopholes that FCA is trying to firm up to avoid stories that touch to prevent a case where their partners put customers' monies at risk. While lots of current UCard holders haven't lost their monies, they can't access them because of the measures that the FCA wants to put in place.

Ok, I get your point, also note Uaccount is not a bank, but categorised as e-money institution while Monzo is a bank. What happened at Uaccount will never happen at or to Monzo.

To the OP, you can open Monzo or Starling, if you are worried about safety, have less than £85k in it and you would be fine.
Also the digital banks apps and tech stack are miles ahead all the other traditional banks bar Barclays to some extent.

I think UK system of point based for student Visa makes it almost 99 percent guaranteed if you met the requirements

"When you meet the requirements", yes that gives you a high chance of getting a visa but even at that, mistakes happen and people get refused even when they meet the requirements so it's not guaranteed. It's not promised with certainty.
If it's guaranteed, no one would be refused after meeting all the requirements. I think that 99% is a bit off the mark but I get where you're coming from but let's assume that it's right, any one can fall in the 1% group due to ECO errors and interpretation or miscommunication (which happens quite often).
The poster wants assurance/guarantee that he'd get a visa if he applies for a short study visa (he didn't say anything about his personal situation) but no one can give him that; he can only be advised on what to do and documents to submit to make the chances of refusal slim.

Hi were you able to sort out the appointment issue because I was given an appointment for 26th of March but embassy was closed down due to Covid-19 . I noticed recently on their website they said People that have appointment between January to March should reschedule for a new appointment date, I have been trying to fill out the form for a new appointment but still it's coming up with an error. I just want to know if you were able to sort out the appointment. Cheers

They will send an email with appointment dates for all those with appointments during the covid shutdown period. There is no point rescheduling in the website. They probably took it down because the system was giving people appointment dates when they are not even open

Did you get this email?

Dear Valued Customer,

Please note that due to Covid 19 disruptions, Embassies worldwide are working to reschedule appoints to match their dates and times of operations. Please contact your Embassy about dates and times of operation before going for an appointment. We will follow the Embassy guidelines to reschedule all appointments from first affected to current.

Sincerely,
NIS-Support Team.
