Did you read and understand the attachment? Did you realise that the recruitment agency has no power to issue visa waiver as they promised in that attachment?

This reminds me of crystal service scam in 2009 when about 8 thousand Nigerians were scammed with job in Canada, the recruiter was about to convince they to gather in national stadium to be picked up by chartered flight to Canada.

Yes among them were doctors, bankers, teachers etc all got scammed.

The letter didn’t claim to issue visa waiver to the doctors. It says NES will issue visa waiver LETTER and they have been in discussions with the Uk immigration according to the letter.

....but then NES or not, we are witnessing a large influx of Nigeria trained medical professionals. This has been going on for years now. The good news is that, these group of people work in some of the major adult and paediatric trauma centres...straight from Nigeria and they are doing really well hence why the recruitment agencies always come back for more Nigerians.

Universities Teaching Hospitals Oxford and Cambridge (Addenbrookes’s) employed up to 8 Nigerian radiographers in the past two years and some doctors as well and more are coming. Nhs hospitals in London will welcome a few more people once the lockdown is relaxed and international flights resume.

He said that out of ignorant, one need to be very very ignorant to believe that 58 will be allowed to travel to the UK with visa waiver without the consent of Nigerian government or even the immigration at the airport.

Let's say this information is true. This information will come from the UK immigration site which is the body in charge of such. When did NHS start giving waivers. That's like Ministry for health granting visas. Haba bros

Yes scammers use legitimate companies to carry out their scam, reading that attachment I have a feeling that this is a scam.

NES is a known recruitment agency for foreign trained doctors. Nigerian doctors are aware of the organisation.

Another two health care organisations where I’ve seen some Nigerians are Alliance Health and Inhealth...these two recruit radiographers.

I believe that those doctors would’ve called the office/management of NES before attempting to leave.
Maybe there’s something that’s missing from that report.
Personally, I’ve never heard of visa waiver in the Uk as I don’t work with Border control/Uk visa or have heard anyone who travelled without visa but I dismiss the attached document as fake.

Nigeria is not among the beneficiary of visa on arrival, you can check online.

I'm not going to dispute that fact but like i said before scammers use name of a legitimate business to scam unsuspecting individuals.

There is nothing like visa waiver program or special arrangement that will allow a recruitment agency to left 58 Drs from Nigeria to the UK without an agreement between Nigerian govt and the British.

This is fishy

Some of them have reasons to complain especially those that voluntarily accept posting to rural areas. Others will refuse to accept posting and before you know it their patrons would override you.

But guess what? When they move overseas they are posted to the same remote areas they refused in Nigeria.

Distribution of doctors is our problem. We do not have enough doctors. There used to be a time when doctors were posted to other Africa countries. In those days we had more doctors than them.

But now, rich countries are poaching our doctors, give them temporary license to work in Indian Reservation for a year and send them back home. Nigerians don't leave, they hide and do any odd jobs preparing for exam or another temporary license.

grin grin grin

This is very funny

That is not possible, proof me wrong anywhere.

Recruitment agency has no power to issue visa waiver letter, its the responsibility of the UKBA to do that.

Yes i know that many Nigerians Drs have being coming to the UK recently to work before the pandemic, i know a Romanian friend who recruits for NHS, sometimes last year she sent me a whatsapp message asking me to help pass it on to Nigerians i know that are qualified.

They didn't pay Jack...lol If you know how much it takes to train a doctor and how much it is heavily subsidized in government owned universities, you'll understand they didn't pay shit. Federal universities are even tuition free.

The only set of doctors that can lay claim on paying their own fees are private university trained doctors who are in their very few numbers.

Why would the agency desperately need 58 Drs from Nigeria without visa even to charter a flight to get them to the UK when coronavius case in the UK is going down daily and lock down lifted?

Call it anything but we're discussing medicine on this thread today and of course, if cost more to train a medical doctor than any other professional in the university.

Besides, don't limit it to Medical school, Nigeria is the best place to study all courses.

How much does the average western citizen spend on college education?

The 'free' education we seemingly get from nigeria cannot hold a candle to what they get in Ghana, not to talk of abroad. Threeblackbird

If you know how much it cost an average citizen to get college degree in the U.S., you'll be grateful to your government. Many of them get loans and become indebted to the government after school.

I just realised you're ignorant of some things and you're one of those people who think Nigeria represents everything that is bad and the land is always greener on the other side of the fence. According to the information I learnt about Ghana, majority of their prestigious school are private owned universities. So what's free about that?

we are saying the same thing. You are offered terrible, low quality free education. But other countries schools pump money into their schools.
Nigeria's educational system is simply a case of awoof dey purge belle. So making the free education sound like something only doctors benefit from when in fact every course benefits from it is wrong. The doctors have paid their dues, they did their internship, they served your silly country in remote villages without basic amenities. They owe you guys nothing, and are free to progress their career in any country they please. Afterall, people who study other courses like tech and engineering also run away abroad, why are you not holding them accountable?

Calling me names is not a nice way to argue, it shows ignorance. I am not ignorant, i know that many doctors have student loans that are over $500k dollars. But what you don't know is that the nigerian doctor who goes to that country for residency also pay those loans. So it's the same thing.

This thread is a typical example of individual contribution to corruption while blaming the other guy.

Most of those that get into professional schools in Nigeria are the children of the rich and well connected. I hasten to say it is also true in Western countries. But the children of the poor that get in Nigeria are not as committed to Justice for the deprived areas as they are in the States.

Moreover, it is the parents of these well connected children that mess up the country in the first place. Now their children are blaming the rest of us for not providing them enough money to live the looted life their parents provided them.

It gets worse because the children of the poor that are brilliant and could not be refused entry into professional schools join the spoiled brats club.

So in pursuit of money, any Agent that understands the greed mentality of our youth can charter a plane and dump them into slave labor market. The Agent does not even have to be as smart as them but streetwise.

Some of you know how these young doctors are treated in the villages to encourage them to stay. The love, respect and kindness showered on them compared to the underserved areas they are recruited to in Western countries. They drive down wages of Western doctors because they are not regarded as real doctors, they are abused and used in any role.

But eh, they make more money than in Nigeria! This disturb those that left the same Western countries and come home to serve.

You and sense are enemies fa! You better reconcile with sense an be sensible.

Did you read the part where they wrote that they had no visa? Did they have a visa waiver from country of destination? Was the NIS carried along? Did they NIS have the powers that they exercised?
