Hello!

With all due respect please take it easy. I think this is way too far. You don't need to say such things. "academically lazy"

You've answered the question quite alright but this is damaging. Yes, the answers are in the previous threads...why can't you just give the person a link and let it go.

Besides, Boss man Frank will never mind sending over and again. People like you should learn how to be patient with others. Don't spoil someone's day please.

You have really hit the nail on the head, thank you very much. people should learn to understand that not everyone assimilates the same way because A understood in 5 minutes doesn’t mean B would We are not supposed to judge any one here but help assist each other. The young woman might not understand but need baby steps to understand not for people to come here and Criticize her... I can boldly say not everyone understood the process at once.
People come here and ask questions that have been answered on and on again but experienced individuals don’t complain in answering them likes of frankrobbn1 , lekiboboe and others...
Please everyone Let’s learn to stop the negativity it’s not all questions you must give rude replies too let’s endeavour to act how you want others to act towards you..

I simply want to know if it's acceptable to start another career path or I still have to continue in my previous path. Am interested in public health and I have a degree in mass communication, can I do Masters with that undergrad degree or should I just start all over.
Greetings to you please endeavour to take your time and read the thread, Ignore the negativity of some individuals, likewise If you have any questions please ask, the experienced people here would always answer you

Hi,

For Guide on Canada Study Visa Application,
Visit page 1 & 29

For Master's Admission guide, go to page 112, u will get everything there into to

And Its better you go for a course related to your former degrees for career progression reason, u don't need to start all over

Since u have a PGD , Master should be the next line of ACTION for you but if its your HND u want to use to come to CANADA, then a Post Graduate Diploma / Post Graduate Certificate is ur best SHOT
which means,
u won't be mentioning your PGD for that , cos when u want to apply for a Study Visa, u would have to show to the VISA OFFICER what u have been doing during the 1-2 years PGD u didn't mention

I stand to be corrected on this

See links for
- School offering Masters in Mass Comm. related program

- Schools offering Masters in International Relations Related Program

https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=International+relations&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

U talked about your interest in M.PH, though I don't know if it's required to have Medicine/Medical/science background to do M.PH, but at the mention of the Public' beside that health' I guess it involves improving peoples health through awareness, policy, and research, which ur Mass comm. Degree and International Relation PGD should satisfy

So u can check the link below aswell for :
- Schools offering Masters in Public Health programs

https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Public+health&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

After assessing all of this options, u should arrive at a Program that suits u and u feel u can do well in

- DO Await a response for your last question on "whether to travel with ur family or not"
&
Ask questions, gurus in house & members
in this thread (based on their experience & encounter) will respond

Hey dear, I didn't call you dumb. You definitely didn't construct your inquiry well.. This part is most recent and you can start from page 1.
Imagine if someone asked you the exact questions u asked, how will you respond?

U're already judging the information as obsolete and complaining that they're long; I'm just awed. There's no VO here so who's to give you updated information if you don't want to read? Everybody here had to read and study patterns. Be that too

Dear 'good people' attacking others for their replies on this matter, u should know that we all aren't as patient as Frank, Lekiboboe, etc. And some of us believe that people are better grounded when they make an effort to find things rather than when ALL is served on a plate.

Hello!

Yes you didn't call anyone "dumb" but you said and I quote...

"if you can't understand the writings on this thread, then I'm sorry o & don't think the person should consider foreign studies"

If the person didn't construct her enquiry well, must you be rude? Not everyone is like you so don't think all people will react/respond the same way you did.

Personally, I won't get annoyed if the same questions are asked on a platform having other experienced members with new people joining daily.

By "obsolete" the person was talking about info she found from threads of 5 or more years ago...not necessarily referring to this one in particular. So no need to be "awed".

Please speak for yourself when you say everyone here had to read and study patterns...Do you think people here are not engaged with other duties like family, Jobs, online classes, board meetings?

Thank God you said "good people". Please, if you're not as patient as Boss man Frank or Boss Lekkiboboe then in my honest opinion, I believe you shouldn't have responded to her in the first place.

I value your believe system of people being well grounded when they make an effort to find things out for themselves...but please you could have responded in a better way.

Good day All,

I will like to encourage sometime with a little about my story.
I graduated from a Nigerian university with a second-class lower division degree in STEM at 24 years and finished NYSC at 25 years. Unfortunately, as peculiar with Nigerian environmental, I got my first job at 28 years after 4 years in the wilderness. The delay in getting a job was my mediocre degree (i.e., finishing with 2.2) and lack of working experience at 25 years (how will I get the necessary work experience when I have never been employed).

Fast forward to a decade later, after working for over a decade, got frustrated with Nigeria society placing a limited to what you can achieve, I decide to make a change to my family situation by returning to school in US/Canada. Initially, there were few obstacles, I got admitted into a fully-funded master’s degree program in the US with an average stipend by God’s grace. I left the shore or Nigeria with my entire family and started the program at 40 years. I graduated with a master’s degree with a GPA of 3.56/4.0 at 42 years. Fortunately, I was admitted into a fully-funded Ph.D. program in Canada’s top university with a very generous stipend and started the program at 42 years. I have currently completed the program required coursework with a GPA of 4.0/4.0, passed candidacy exam, five publications, and 3 manuscripts under review in top peer-review journals.

What is my point?
Despite where you might have started from, the environment you live might not be favorable to you, age or family commitments might be barriers. However, do not give up, please hold on to your dream. The grace of God will see you through. If you quit today, you have failed tomorrow.

Please note
My story is not unique; I have seen many tremendous journeys of beautiful people who do not quit/give up and achieved great heights. I am sharing my story to encourage you that no barrier is big or strong enough to stop you from achieving your dream.

I hope to challenge someone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thompson Rivers university doesn't require GMAT et all. If you graduated with a strong CGPA , work experience and come from an English speaking country (IELTS/TOEFL) will be waived.

Fellow Camaradaries,

In as much answering repetitive questions are encouraged, its also very important not to ask some obvious questions that may have already been answered in the next page or some couples back.

We ought to also note that choices of words in both proferring answers and asking questions are paramount and should be thoroughly well-assessed, especially those at the receiving end. Try as much as possible to coin or put together the intended question(s) to at least denotes that a prior research or reading has been done. The previous pages and threads are well-placed in an advantageous consideration and the use of time and dates imprinted on each posts on present and/or past threads coupled with IRCC website can help determine how recent, valid and/or transient the information is currently shaping and how it should be digested.

In as much as online platforms are places to ask (ignorant) questions and seek potential guides, its also well-advised to quickly skim through the thread or the previous to see right that such question(s) are not obviously repetitive. This create room to further help build the platform through focusing on more technical questions and sharing worthy thoughts or information. If a close glance is allowed, it will be observed that none of these are forthcoming on NL due to certain back and forth repetitive Q & A.

Even if people are willing to answer certain unwarranted questions, should this be encouraged and why then would the moderator want to save previous threads or even dare to have certain vital informations put together on the first page which is a buildup to any prospective or potential questions on the basics?

There are more to SP application, especially post-approval and other delicate issues surrounding studying post-landing that are apparently not considered as part of what should be discussed on a "Student/Study Thread". No! don't think it isn't applicable nor relevant now but to others it maybe applicable and very relevant now.

Those proffering solutions or answers, don't they have crucial engagements and tasked with some other personal responsibilities or activities? Doesn't it feel oddly wrong sometimes on certain shared information by some knowledgeable persons here or other notable platforms like Quora, Canadavisa and what are/were the steps taken to validate the about-to assimilated information? It still boils down to personal read-up and research, especially if its DIY application.

If you're opportuned to read from other notable visa fora, a realization will be reached that there are more to the know-how about the study route up to the PR stage and ways to avoid some common mistakes that has paralyzed numerous successful applicants studying in Canada. In as much as the principal focus is on the pre-application stage, reiterating again, there are also many others in dire need of post-application guide, advise and counseling which is not fully or well-accessible here on NL student thread due to avoidable repetitive questions.

Summarily, if this thread is to become more interesting and well-contained in vast areas of SP application (pre- or post-), anybody with obvious and repetitive questions should be referred to page one or be furnished with the right link to read up except otherwise.

In as much people are here to happily answer queries, it should also be considered that to what end will the standard of the thread be in terms of the preserved and dished information.

I wish everybody the best possible luck ever!

This is wat we should endeavour to share and not place your own fears on others with all this "don't apply for your visa cos of so so and so", if you dont want to apply, dont apply, only advise on what you feel is going on and not enforcing your own fears on others to follow suit. This brother faced challenges ,am even surprised he got funded with his 2.2, thats pure belief in yourself and utter trust in GOD. If you want to stop chasing your dreams and base your trust on a data and not believing in GOD cos a data shows 80% Nigerians are getting denied, pls go ahead but don't make others do the same. What about the 20%, are they aliens?.. Thanks bro for the uplifting testimony.

I needed this. Quite inspirational considering many of us are in this position expecially with regard to age.
