Re: Share Your Remote Job Experience As A Developer by morzook(m): 5:19pm On Jul 14, 2020 |
Miraj22: jQuery is a little bit outdated. You should go for react or angular. You can learn wordpress later, that's if you want to be a wordpress developer. |
Re: Share Your Remote Job Experience As A Developer by Karleb(m): 5:20pm On Jul 14, 2020 |
Miraj22: Many people consider jquery obsolete in 2020, in fact, jquery is obsolete. Vuejs, Reactjs and Angular js are much better option presently. Of all the three, Vuejs is beginner friendly. WordPress is just another PHP framework, learn php itself. Then you choose to go with popular php frameworks like Laravel, CakePHP, codeigniter... I strongly recommend Laravel though. WordPress developers are not considered serious developers. 2 Likes |

Karleb: Wow and someone told me its a waste of time to learn how to build sites from scratch.... Thank God I ignored the advice. I have learnt HTML, CSS , JavaScript , Node JS (not to perfection) and mongoDB. Is it a wise decision? Cos I heard that its much better to learn PHP and mySQL than since its cheaper and easier to host |
Re: Share Your Remote Job Experience As A Developer by Karleb(m): 4:38am On Jul 15, 2020 |
MrJavaS: A very wise one! One advantage of Javascript/Node js is you don't need to learn a new language for the backend, it's js Javascript on the front and back end. Its an excellent choice! Maybe PHP websites are cheaper and easier to host because PHP is everywhere on the web but Javascript is here to stay, in fact, it's taking over. PHP == NODEjs MongoDB == Mysql/MariaDb |

Hello guys, I just started freelancing recently and upwork ask me today to verify my account by sending a picture of a government issued I'd card as well as the video interview within 7 days. My question is, does upwork allow paper national id card/slip (the brown copy) ? because that is only what I have access to now. And if NO what do I do next (I don't have money to collect either driver's license nor international passport) also it's not election time yet so voter's card is out of it. Note: I don't even have the paper national id card yet I'll just quickly go and collect it. Nd I dont want to stress myself and spend money(since they've not officially resumed) if it would b useless at last. Pls help Edit: Answer found BT if u still have anuy contribution u can drop it. |

FahBuLous: I know you asked a different person this question, but I'd like to give answers to the best of my knowledge. 1. Even at 50 or 55, it is never too late to learn WebDev and get a job. Whether frontend, backend or fullstack, just get very comfortable with whatever you choose and then start applying for jobs. 2. I believe that the answer to the question of how long you can learn before getting a job is relative. How quick you can get a very good understanding of what you learn and how comfortable you can actually build projects is more important. It could take Mr. A 3 months, it could take Mr. B 9 months. I hope you understand. Just love what you do, be dedicated, and build projects to hone your skills as you learn. You could choose to build imaginary projects, do a few free WebDev jobs for one or two people and start freelancing to build your portfolio. 3. Try to understand that there's no perfection (in the real sense of the word) as a web developer or programmer. Even people with 10, 15 or more years of experience still learn. Like I mentioned earlier, learn and practice, build projects until you are comfortable, then apply for jobs. Developers still learn on the job. Some people prefer one-on-one physical tutorials, while others are very OK with learning online. There are lots of free online resources that you could use. There's Freecodecamp, codecademy, W3school, etc. Freecodecamp seems to be the most popular free online resource. There's Udemy if you wish to pay and learn. There are also lots of free videos on YouTube. Search for videos by TraversyMedia, he's really good and explains well. Also Freecodecamp YouTube videos. I hope these answers help. Cheers and all the best. I must add, for frontend WebDev, start learning in the following order: 1. HTML 2.CSS 3. JavaScript Then you can add React, etc. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Share Your Remote Job Experience As A Developer by Jameek(m): 12:42pm On Jul 16, 2020 |
FahBuLous: Fullstack means you need to be good with both frontend and backend technologies. And I feel it's best to start with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript first, then learn frameworks such as React, AngularJS etc. For the programming languages, I'd say JavaScript and Python. There are others as well. For the salaries, I can't really say but the pay is good. It's been discussed on this thread. 1 Like |

Re: Share Your Remote Job Experience As A Developer by Karleb(m): 3:32pm On Jul 16, 2020 |
MrJavaS: That is not entirely true. PHP 7 for example is faster than Ruby, Python and Nodejs. It's depends on what you are building and the developer. A bad programmer can build a snail project with Ferrari programming language. |

Just to add to what the other people have said. Check roadmap.sh for both frontend and backend guide If you want to learn through udemy there are many courses that teach fullstack development, search on udemy go through their course overview and pick the one you prefer the most. You can download udemy courses from ' freecoursesite.com ' torrent download or ttorial.com Google drive download FahBuLous: 3 Likes 2 Shares |
