Hello. I was offered a job in a firm. I’m a graduate done with nysc and have a 2.1 with relevant skills. I was thinking of going legit and the salary offered was 30k per month in the firm. Is it worth it? Location is state capital in the south.

Should I take the job or relocate back to the west where they are better opportunities?
Don't let the job tigh d glory in u down. Go do better thgs. Salary is to take care of yourself alone. And not your family not even friends. Go hustle. Don't do yahoo shaaa

Don't go with the mindset, starting small is accepted

The job will avail you the opportunity to connect with people and also build experience....just stay focused you will get there

I’m surprised. Are you all actually telling me to go do a job that before month end I will be borrowing money from people to feed?

You may accept the job,but before you do; you must place your hand on your chest and solemnly swear that once you've earned your first salary, you'll start forex or bet9ja.

why that

You have given us little information to work with to give an advice.

We do not know your career aspiration, what job you got, distance of workplace to your home, what you studied in school, when you finished school.

Personally, if I made a 2.1 and still freshly out of school, I am not taking a 30k job.
What has salary got to do with GP.

I know someone that made a very good 2:1 from OAU. He served in the north and immediately after his service, he got a job that paid him 30k. He didnt say because he had a 2.1 and lots of skill set, he would not take the 30k job. 6 months later, salary got increased to 40k. Another 7 months later, he got the opportunity to apply for graduate trainee position in the same company he worked with. Due to his experience, he was offered the position and his pay increased from 40k to 110k.
The guy had to potential of earning 400k monthly within 3 years if he decided to stay with the company. But he decided to quit after 1 year of being a grad trainee.
He now makes 10x of what he was making then on a monthly basis.

What did he do: He used part of the 30k monthly salary to get trained in Software Testing while looking for other better opportunities. He was lucky and the software testi g training opened up the opportunity of a good job for him and now, he's doing relatively ok.

You know who this guy is? The guy is ME.

Moral of the story: Never despise the days of your humble beginnings.Take the job, better yourself with any IT training and keep your eyes and ears open for better stuffs out there. God bless your hustle bruh..

why that
Because you need an auxiliary cash source.
30k is simply to meagre to survive on.
Those may even turn out to be your main cash sources if you perfect the art.

What year was this? And you didn’t answer previous question if I should accept or not. Do you know 30k today is different from 30k 10 years ago? Earning 30k you didn’t specify bills that you were paying. You all motivational speakers just come online and talk

Well I guess you only chose the part that you wanted to read and decided not to see where I categorically said you should take the job.
So, if you do not take the job, your bills would be nullified, right? You're talking as if you already have a job waiting for you in the west if you reject the 30k job. 10 years, 20 years ago, it does not matter at all. All that matter is that you have something that you are doing. Its left for you to decide on what you want to do. I gain absolutely nothing by motivating you. Once again, God bless your hustle.

The thing is the money offered can’t even pay half of my bills how then do I cope or even deliver effectively. It’s very funny when I heard the salary offered

With such salary, I think accommodation should be free, but if u have where u could stay, collect it, my friend started with 30k job, a guy and used the job to gain knowledge and perfect himself, now he works as a consultant to like four company including that same one that was earlier paying him 30k...

I'm presently earning less than that per month as a graduate intern in Lagos,i move within iyanapaja-onipanu which is #400 t.fare everyday, but you know the funny thing,in two years interval i'm being called for an job interview whose salary worth 170-200k.

Though the Job is still in pipeline but if it eventually scale through do you know what percentage increase is??,when people see me then they won't know the story behind.

Reach out to those people who are legitimately successful today and they will tell you it comes with a prize, smartness, sweat, intelligence,Honesty endurance and Grace.
Never forget the goal, skill,it sometimes hidden in mud and dirt.

Lol but you didn’t state the bills you pay. You could be staying with your parents and the 20k for you is just for data and transport. See through what I wrote rent here is even 8k a month.

Despise not the days of little beginnings... If you want to follow a career path and you get an opportunity to start small in the path.. Take it and do certifications while at it...it will boost your chances at better jobs.. There is what is called sacrifice. The universe responds to what you put out there. Me I am from delta. I had the opportunity of a job as a INdutrial trainee at 10k/month in Lagos. Mind you I was a graduate.. My salary was only able to carry my transport fair in Lagos.. Although I had to squat with a friend...and so. E times go without food. 6months later I was absorbed into the company at 90k/month and a year later I got another job in another company at 600k/month.my life changed and after then I have had jobs that offered me 5million naira a month outside the country... My advise grow your trade. You are only as relevant as your last experience and certifications. Degree takes u no where. Something gotta give. It's your choice.. I am not saying this may work for you.. I am saying most people I know have even worked for free in these conditions because of experience and today they are where they hoped to be.. Others are not there yet. So figure it out yourself and make a decision based on your convictions. Nobody can help you but you. It's your sacrifice and your failure or success.. No one else... Take it or leave it.. But what I can tell u is that For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Newtons 3rd law of motion.
