@ justwise, frankrobbi 1, lekiboboe, Wendi duel, and other gurus here Hello house, please attend to my questions . I would like to know if it's mandatory to open a dormicilary account for my sister and transfer her tuition fees there though the school did not request for tuition deposit? or should just present the sponsor statement of account as prove of Available funds for her tuition?
my next question is that her sponsor(my hubby) said he doesn't have any money in his Salary account but has up to 17M-20M in his savings account, please does he need to submit an empty salary account or he should just submit his savings account with his payslip and employment letter as prove of employment??
furthermore, my sister has already gotten admission here in Nigeria , do we need to include her admission letter as evidence of what she has been doing after SSCE?
my last question is that how do we proof the relationship between my younger sister and my husband since they do not bear the same surname? @justwise , frankrobbi1, lekiboboe, wendiduel and other guru in the house. Thanks and remain blessed . Please someone should attend to my questions

Hello Godsblessings,

You excluded some vital information of if your sister is a minor and/or if she has attain the age of 18 or above. This way, the advise becomes more direct rather than broad.

It isn't mandatory to open a domiciliary account but as the name implies and purpose, it easily facilitate foreign payments and transactions. This can be use to an advantage especially if she's less than 18 or slightly above. The domiciary account should be set up in her name and if possible, the total expense for her first year education plus tuition inclusive should be house there.

As stated by IRCC, an account to facilitate immigration should be at least 6 months or older. In her case especially if she's 18 or less, it could be argued in her favour that as a young child who's about to take her next step into the perfect reality, its only right to create an active account for her especially now that she intends to pursue international studies. Thus, the more reason the account became needful in order to specifically set aside the required funds that covers her first year studies.

What this subtle implies also transcend to stand as tie even id she's young to show tangible landed properties and/or employment history.

This way, your spouse can easily demonstrate his unwithering sponsorship commitment by not doing with his salary account but the savings coupled with the necessary evidence of his source of funds.

It may be advisable to use the admission letter secured here in Nigeria to make a case for her on why the decision to send her abroad became neccesitated. If at disposal, include paid tuition fees to the admission letter. This creates a perception that indeed the local available option wasn't/isn't compatible to her educational goal or enable a clear career path for her.

However, due to the limited course to choose from or it can even be argued that her sole desire is to become for example a soil scientist or researcher which based on several consultations and research, she might limit herself or potentials because of the none supportive academic standard and education structure in Nigeria. Thus, the possibility to groom her accordingly in the area of research is uncertainty.

You are the centre of connecting and demonstrating their relationship. Since she's your sister, both your birthday certificate and marriage certificate would suffice and if at disposal, pictures only if she's in it especially that of your wedding, birthday, picnics, attestation letter from your religious place of worship recognize you and your husband as her legal guardian, letter from her secondary school attesting that she was sponsored by you and your husband, sworn affidavit et cetera can serve as proof tangible proof of relationship.

Good afternoon Nairalanders, please can an applicant go to a neighboring country to do biometrics since VCA offices in Nigeria are not open yet..will that be a wise step

Eilenora:
Many thanks.

I have done this. Qlife also said I can send them my own copy of the medical report alongside the slip which I sent via email. However I subsequently read that it is only the panel physician that is allowed to forward the report to IRCC not the applicant. I hope this does not count against me in any way.

Prior to the new 2 stage approval process, if one gets medical request it means most likely you have gotten your permit. Does same still apply considering 3 different stages are being run concurrently now?

Hello Eilenora,

The medical report is recognized as official and valid only if the panel physician identified by IRCC directly send it. Given that this has already been done officially with a record of such report already with them, its very safe to send them the e-medical slip without no consequence. It will be definitely be acknowlwdged and your Gckey account updated soonest.

For those who have gotten MR recently, they're likely to get the final approval as its very rare getting turned down at the next stage thereafter which is biometrics based on the information provided by IRCC though this guys are not stable with their tactics. All the same, there is at least some level of positivity to hold onto.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Ujeinijobog: 3:30pm On Jul 28, 2020
Hello everyone

Before the two step visa process came up, I deffered my admission to fall 2021 for a thesis based masters. My faculty initiated the deferral process on my behalf and haven't gotten back to me yet on my admission and scholarship status.
Now, on the one hand, I don't know if it's a good idea to see if I can recall my decision especially because all the classes I wanted to register for are already full. In addition, the deadline for registration of courses is 1st of August which is just few days away.

On the other hand, I don't know if I can take my thesis first but then again, I strongly feel like I'll be taken to be indecisive by my department (which isn't such a good thing).

Considering my situation and in view of the timing, is it wise to see if I can recall the defferal or I should just chill till next year?

Thank you.

Thank you for your response

_Bro I studied quantity surveying looking to pursue a PGD in Project management (not construction project management, just the normal project management as it is more affordable)
-I have a HND upper credit ( PGD is the only option as I can't go for masters directly )
-My program length is 1 year
And apart from the tuition, I have 11k CAD to cover for my living expenses

As for the employment reference letter, I don't think he has a HR yet because it's a small business with a relatively small number of staff members but I can get the reference letter directly from him if that would be acceptable

Thank you

Also, I'm thinking about buying N300k worth of shares, stock or bond, I want to use it as a home tie..

Please house, is this good enough for a home tie considering the fact that I will be purchasing it very close to the period(1 month before ) I am applying for my study permit

Thank you

she is 20years going for her first degree . And she will be studying pre-social works @university of Winnipeg, which I think it's not available here in Nigeria or limited institution offer the course ,
did you mean we should include her admission and proof of payment of tuition at the Nigeria Univerzity ?
She is currently Studying
human kinetics and health education in Nigeria first year which is different from her admission in Canada.
Concerning ties, landed docs, hubby plan approval, deed of agreement, and survey plan and receipt of payment will be used
, Marriage certificate, birth certificate and family pictures cos I don't think she reflected on our wedding pix
Thankss. We will try to open a dormicilary account for her and transfer her tuition and living expenses their but what if the name of person that fund her dormicilary account is different from my hubby name , how can that affect her application?

Please house, I’m looking at applying to Centennial College, for Winter 2021. I saw this (screenshot below) while looking at the admission requirement for my program.

Did everyone who applied to centennial college here have their transcript evaluated by WES?
Even tho it’s a bachelors degree transcript (2’1)? Is there a way this can be waived?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by zill001: 10:20pm On Jul 28, 2020
I got admission to Centennial College and did not go through any credential evaluation process. However, upon registration, a student is required to provide original copies of all credentials and transcripts from previous schools. I am not sure if different courses have their requirements as mine is a pgc. You can send an email to the admissions office for Africa and ask is such evaluation is required or can be waive.

Good luck.

Hope you're aware that 1-year program can only fetch you 1 year PGWP. If your plan in the end is to pursue PR, this might not be good for you. I advice you go for a program 16-24 months in length, which will lead to a 3-years PGWP, enough time to apply for PR.

I thought you mentioned getting a sponsor in your initial post. If you have your full tuition and additional 11kCAD as living expenses, If I were you, i will include 5kCAD for miscellaneous like flight expenses and others, that should be enough for a 1-year program. But remember you will only get 1-year PGWP.

A PGD program is okay because you have HND.

He doesn't need the HR to sign, mine was signed by my manager, but all the other items were fulfilled, letterhead etcetera

I don't think 300k worth of shares can get you a strong home tie, in my opinion. How many units can that amount purchase? From your profile, you graduated last year, you've not had any paid employment, I don't think the VO would be looking for assets to tie you to your home country.

Goodluck!

The fly wire rate can be something else, don't know about Debit Card....

Suggestion,
Why don't u consider Paying through CBN Form A
Payment through FORM A will be made at a CBN or interbank rate for eligible services (tuition fee Payment, etc.) which is built as predetermined by the Foreign exchange manual

Check my post in the link below for information on "payment of tuition fee abroad using FORM A and information u need from the school to initiate the payment"

I graduated with a second class lower in public administration and I want to apply for diploma in public administration. Please, how do I apply by myself without going through agent?
Very Simple,
when u check out the school u are interested in, and u av seen that u satisfy the admission requirement, and the intake u want to apply for is open e.g Fall (September) intake, Winter (January) intake & Spring (May) intake,
then
- Go to the sch. Website, locate their Application Portal for international student ,fill the Application form and upload the required documents,
make sure u av all the documents required to apply e.g Academic Transcript (some school might require u to evaluate ur result either from WES or ECA before they process ur admission, and some might require ur school to send official copy of ur transcript to them), University degree certificate and some other required supporting documents.

- Then pay the Application fee ( mostly around $90 CAD to $150CAD)

- then wait for ur admission letter

Keep Checking Ur mail & try to apply to more than one skool

Note : Some schools also waive application fee for international students e.g CAMBRIAN COLLEGE, ONTARIO

In order to widen your Admission to Canada Options,

If u are interested in HR (Human Resources management) U can check out Cambrian College, Ontario One-year Post Graduate Certificate (PGC) Program in Human Resource (HR) for Winter 2021 intake (which is open), since HR relates to ur Public Admin degree...which shows a career progression

https://cambriancollege.ca/programs/human-resources-management/

https://catalog.cambriancollege.ca/hmpd/

If u interested in Applying for that Program (PGC,HR) at Cambrian College. U can PM me for guidance

Please I need your candid advice. I just read through the information on the thread. I applied for study permit and in the documents I submitted, I only attached an attestation letter from a research laboratory even though I don't work there claiming I earn certain amount of money and I will be granted a study leave for a year(letter headed)
. I didn't attach any payment slip or bank statements,is there any treats

Hello team, pls how far does the VO go in verifying specific payment funds stated on the bank statement transactions?

An investment company that is supposed to refund capital is delaying. Will transferring the exact amount of money from another source, but stating that company name in the naration, fly? I'm wondering if the VO will go as far as verifying reference numbers/exact source of payment or if transfer narration is sufficient?

PS - payments have previously been received from this investment and there's a letter to confirm that they'll refund, attached to the application to IRCC
