Anyway. Rest in Peace.

As a matter of fact, I was the one who mentioned the poor welfare issue and the bros called Righteousness89 quoted me saying their salary is okay. 50-60k per month is what they give to these armed men (private rank). Going by that salary, no recruit should be expected to own a car in his life...

To add insult to injury, they blocked this one's account and gave him a gun to go and risk his life in Sambisa on empty stomach. Can you imagine the madness...?

RIP to the dead officer though.

Confused military, u held someone allowance for months while fighting boko haram, and some politicians and top military officers are somewhere doing nothing and chopping billions, now the junior officer has wasted the senior colleague, some fools will still be worshipping and praising this administration, he who wears the shoes know where it pinches, what a nation

The story is not complete, he left duty for six months without permission, Nigeria army should not have frozen his account, he would made to face trial and necessary punishment given to him, you allowed him to join you again after six month of deserted and next thing is to hold his money, I think the best thing now is to cancel the country call Nigeria and build another one. the least Private Uzonna Maduabuchi collects is #158k with allowance every month.
But what they do is they relocate to all these kanuri prostitutes den until their salaries are finished.
Its these kanuri girls that transfer to their families #20k and keep the rest having been in possession of soldiers ATM card. Imagine a soldier collecting salary of 58k but buying a LovePeddler phone of 70-100k.
Who sent him on AWOL?
Will you pay your employee salary if he/she fails to come to work for 6months?
The beurocracy involved, makes it difficult to cancel an AWOL even after you return.
And the soldiers are all aware of all these.
Beside its their fellow soldiers that do hide their cancelation so that it will accumulate up to one year for them to negotiate & be bribed for 2-3 months salary.

Who knows how long the young soldier has been pleading for his salary, and the oga bluntly refused.

“We only found out that the soldier’s account has been blocked for several months without collecting office allowance and salary.
“He has been complaining that he is also not allowed to go on pass. It’s painful and sad mood already here.

Someone in such situation in northeast still not paid salary for months.

he is already in trauma fighting BH, u are adding more to his trauma by denying him pass to go and verify why his salary is not been paid.

may the soul of the departed rest in peace, may Allah receive him and forgive his sins.

thanks for this.
I know for sure the military won't freeze his account for no reason.
well my only hope is that the officer killed is amongst those hindering the fight against boko-haram if not the guy man mess up big time.
something tells me the killer soldier is amongst the boko-haram insider and had to kill the officer cos he knows alot and that this whole story is just made up.
when he left duty for 6 months, where he been dey?

I pity the young soldier and condolences to the family of the deceased officer too BUT your attempt to color this narrative with religion and ethnic shades is shameful. Why are we always so quick to dress every issue in the garb of religion and tribe? And yet, we pray for a new Nigeria. Totally despicable.

once an igbo man is involved, then the narative changes instantly.

NOW NO ONE WILL NOTICE THE UNDERLINING FACTORS

- DENIAL OF ALLOWANCES AND SALARIES FOR MONTHS AND DENIAL OF EXIT PERMIT.

AND THE POOR SOLDIER SLIDE INTO DEPRESSION AND DEMENTIA.

YET CAPTURED BOKO HARAM FIGHTERS ARE TREATED TO SUMPTUOUS MEALS AND TREATED LIKE KINGS WHILE THE SOLDIERS ARE TREATED LIKE SLAVES.

This country sef...how can someone engaged in the fighting of the dreaded boko haram for months unend not receive his salaries even after several complaints and the military high command could not do anything about it..where will the moral to fight on be coming from when his dependent relatives are uncatered for.

Abeg person don tire...the frustration amongst our soldiers is just too much.

He went AWOL for six months, that's why his salary was blocked. In any case, how does no salary equate to the need to kill? If it was a Fulani private killing an Igbo lieutenant, I hope you guys would justify the killing same way.

Sending a depressed soldier to the war front. Someone that did not get paid for risking his dear life at the battlefield.
What else did the army expect? Do they think he will only cherish an epistle that his reward will be paid to him in the afterlife?

Better than killing a civilian? So the soldier killed is not a human. Igbo soldier killed Hausa soldier, even his generation yet unborn will regret this action. If he is depressed, he did not see fellow Igbo soldier to kill?

This looks like the first military Igbo coup of January 15, 1966, till today, Igbos are still paying for it.

All soldiers know the punishment for AWOL.
I am sure he knows he will be dismissed after RI or BOI has been set upon his return. But the leniency of the system had led to all these.
The army should just adjust the AFA, once you are on AWOL for a week, u ceased to be a personnel & hence remain at the place you went to.
The NA should educate new intakes during recruitment against going on AWOL.

See Christians should StOP justifying killing in cold blood.
- the adjutant is to responsible for blocking or opening of account or denial of allowances.
- before an account is block one must have gone on AWOL or committed an offence.
- it was not the first time Private Uzonna Maduabuchi a Christian from SE nigeria has cocked rifle on the said officer.
And had it been the officer took necessary action earlier, ethnicity will be the next card played by uzonna's kinsmen but at least the officer would have been alive by now.
- when does killing a superior becomes justified because of grievances?
- The soldier is an indiscipline bastard & his guarantor needs to be arrested if this trend is to subside.
- Christian soldiers killing Muslim officers is now the trend. But if the foolish Muslim soldiers refused to retaliate, I'll see how they will get justice or fairness in a system filled with people who despises them.

Oga what u are saying is just baseless religious sentiments, if a soldier went AWOL and u block his account then why still keep him on the war front to fight with a riffle and nothing to motivate when u are not paying him?can a hungry man think rationally let alone fight? If that wasnt the first time he had cocked a riffle at the said officer then y keep them in close proximity and still let him have a rifle and still provoke him by denying him his earnings? U no want pay am oya leave am make him go na na by force ni to play with venomous snake? A ticking time bomb and u still provoke him by denying him his wages and refusing him to leave?

Ask urself y did he go AWOL in the first place?oh he should stay and fight for a country that cares not for soldiers but rather prefers terrorists and treat them better than those helping to fight them?how can u reward a terrorist and even send them out of the country and yet normal good citizens cant even afford a meal in a day let alone soldiers on the war front risking their lives to keep the country from collapsing?

I only feel pity for the wife of the deceased especially if her husband was just collateral damage but i highly doubt he was just a random target because like u said the shooter had raised his riffle at him before so im left to suspect he is the cause of the shooters plight and still gambled with his life when u know u are poking a an angry hungry lion in the eye..oh u expect him to hold the guys hands and be happy singing kumbaya abi? Im not justifying his actions but some things are just common sense to avoid disasters.

90% of news here are fake.
The soldier was from 21 SAB bama so, I am not into hearsay.
The officer is a member of 63rd RC from Mogadishu battalion in NDA entered 2011 & Passout 2016.

I did not see anywhere in that press release by the military that the said soldier was found culpable of any charge, neither do I know the source of this your information...I am by no means justifying his action in taking another's life.

Depression is a serious medical health condition and the situation is exacerbated by the conditions these guys are exposed to in the theatre of war.

It is no coincidence that in recent times we have seen a sudden upsurge in soldiers killing their colleagues and cases of junior military officers openly lambasting their superiors for poor conditions of service.

If you want to play your ethnic card go ahead and do so but please keep me out of it.

To think I was admiring this couple last year when their pre wedding pics flooded nairaland. Such a beautiful couple. Wife pretty, husband, hans. only for an acrimonious soul to cut their Union short.

May God give the beautiful wife the fortitude to bear the loss.
