Sakamaje: What you posted here is absolute drivel, you are the ignorant one.The ecowas protocols, which Ghana and Nigeria have ratified and domesticated supercedes that local Ghanaian laws. Please do not exhibit your ignorance here. Its bad leadership here in Nigeria that is drving V our children into the hands of wicked African nations...............our born to rule fulani colonialists should do quick and carry their bags and go.......at this point i don't even mind a Tinubu presidency..........these sahrlian savages are just running the country aground. 5 Likes |

gaskiyamagana: Most developing/underdeveloped countries beyond 100m population would never have enough to cater for ALL its citizenry without emigration. It's the price for Overpopulation. I do believe that No one belong anywhere though. I.e. emigration isn't a bad thing. But we are really Overpopulated in my Opinion. |

My brother Nigerian with a spare 1milliin $ to invest won't go to Ghana...but invest here in naija! [quote author=Sakamaje post=92832920]I can't help but agree with the Op. I think Nigerians can generally have a high tendency to be very lawless in other countries if allowed. Maybe Ghanaians themselves encouraged the flouting of their own laws initially when they deemed it harmless. But apparently they are now feeling threatened that if something is not done |

baiaon:. Our government is just too docile!! Every year you hear GUTA locking up shops owned by Nigerians. You don’t get to see them shutting down businesses owned by Chinese, Lebanese, Togolese and others!! Our government should shut down gas supply to Ghana. Perhaps they’re owing for gas supplied. 2 Likes |

Bluntguy: We actually have very similar laws. A foreigner wishing to register a business in Nigeria needs to have a minimum share capital of N10,000,000. A Nigerian citizen, on the other hand, needs a minimum share capital of N10,000. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bluntguy: These laws have long been in existence. Nigeria has its own laws, go do your research and post some of Nigerian’s laws. As we speak , Nigeria does not allow certain products to enter Nigeria from Ghana or wherever. 1 Like |

Rossikk: Doesn't matter how or on who laws are enforced! Whether selectively or totally.... A law is a law!!! It is what it is! You should never flout laid down laws especially in a foreign or strange land!!! Simple as that!!! For me, there is no case here!!! Nigeria and Nigerians should return the favour here if Ghanaians are guilty of the same breach!. Laws should be upheld and obeyed by all whether local or foreign, especially foreign!!! 3 Likes |

Blue3k: Meanwhile Ghanians are doing these in other peoples countries to survive. 27. ACTIVITIES RESERVED FOR GHANAIANS AND GHANAIAN OWNED ENTERPRISES (1) A person who is not a citizen or an enterprise which is not wholly owned by citizen shall not invest or participate in— a. the sale of goods or provision of services in a market, petty trading or hawking or selling of goods in a stall at any place; b. the operation of taxi or car hire service in an enterprise that has a fleet of less than twenty-five vehicles; c. the operation of a beauty salon or a barber shop; d. the printing of recharge scratch cards for the use of subscribers of telecommunication services; e. the production of exercise books and other basic stationery; f. the retail of finished pharmaceutical products; g. the production, supply and retail of sachet water; and h. all aspects of pool betting business and lotteries, except football pool. afube: Don't kid yourself. No West African country is a slave to any ecowas protocol. Even Nigeria herself violated that so-called protocol when it shut its borders recently. When Nigeria deported millions of Ghanaians decades ago, it didn't need to ask for anybody's permission. Every democratic and sovereign nation is first of all subject to the wishes of its people before any sub-regional protocol. The issue can quickly degenerate into a political one for the Ghanaian government hence what you are seeing happening. The Ghanaian government is only yielding to the yearnings and requests of its people to prevent Nigerians from engaging in retail trading in their country, ecowas protocols are secondary in priority. 1 Like |

PrinceMajestic:. Ghana GUTA has been shutting down businesses owned by Nigerians for years now!! It has nothing to do with border closure!! The Nigerians trading in Ghana are far more competitive than their host. The Ghanaian that will comment here will tell you he/her buys their spare part from Nigerians. Ghanaians sell at exorbitant rate.. 1 Like |

/ The biggest problem with Nigerians is because they feel worthless about themselves, they feel shocked to see that there are countries who protect her citizens. Nigeria seems to be the only country that immigrants are termed expatriates and are allowed to start from the top. If you place no values on yourselves, others will treat you with derision. Why this is difficult for Nigerians to understand baffles me. / 2 Likes |
