A sane mellow environment where people live a contented life without the greedy culture of materialism.

Nigerians will soon start trooping there to go run it down with their noise, filth, and thievery, and when the original owners get fed up with their nuisance level and ask them to leave their country for them, you'd start hearing "they are lazy, they are envious and jealous of us, they don't know how to do business, etc."

We are anyhow people jare

It is not rocket science, the leaders travel to Europe, Botswana and Namibia and fail to emulate what they see.
It is caused by a lack of patriotism and ignorance. Not to mention corruption.

When we have developed our cities, we can have tour buses show tourists around our sites and sounds.

Uyo,
Enugu, have effective traffic lights...

even when there's sidewalks, most people will like to jump into the road.... lol no formal education about those infrastructures in Nigeria

nigerians are just hypocrites, this is what fashola was trying to do in Lagos by planting trees, flowers and creating open parks within the city which he did but folks started complaining by saying na flower we go chop. I am tired of Nigerians whining, if you truly want the best for Nigeria, it's gonna come with some sacrifices and pains. Do you know how many houses will have to be demolished to achieve all these kinds of landscaping, sidewalks and the likes.

Abegi we are not ready, just full of noise and talk

It will have to done at some point. If not 100 years from now the cities will still look the same. Unfortunately, houses will have to be demolished and people resettled.
The reason majority opposed the demolitions in Lagos was because there was a greedy landlord who wanted to turn those vacated lands to his estates.

Someone is comparing Abuja to this. You can't even find a single place in the picture that's fenced. Just see how stores are organized.

Eko atalantic is for rich folks. To achieve this beauty is not hard. Build good roads with side walks and covered drainage. The side walks can be built on top of the drainage. Plant green grass at the centre if its a dual road. Have functional street and traffic lights. You can even construct hard shoulders for cars to park or bicycle riders. Wash the streets and side work twice a week. These things are not difficult to achieve. If poor Jamaica can achieve it how much more nigeria.

well said. unemployment is 100% in nigeria. nothing is working because nobody is working. Nigeria has missed road. Thanks to visionless founding fathers.

Their ass licking followers are also to blame. They were cheering for these founding fathers as they made the country the poverty and corruption capital.

Africans abhor decent city life. Most of the places you see this sort of organized infrastructure are places previously or presently built and inhabited by Europeans or Americans.

not true bruv, let's say it the way it is, Nigerians just abhor the pains and inconveniences that comes in getting these kinds of developments we truly desire.

I once lived in a street where the Local govt wanted to construct proper drainage, some shops were to be affected, the work started but the shop owners resisted to the point that the work had to be abandoned by the local govt.

Absence of fence around shops and office buildings is the major difference and wide sidewalks for pedestrians. And most importantly 24 hour electricity.

We had all these in the good old days in this country but worsening security from the 80s where armed robbery became popular brought all the fences you see everywhere. As for electricity we know it's a tall order if we continue our love for Generators' importation. It was in the mid 90s that generators became popular in Nigeria as electricity supply deteriorated.

We can gain all these back if we are truly serious about true reforms
