Govt can control churches. Can should shut up

Did government does not have the right to control The church of God. Its The Property of God.

Someone like you saying this, I really pity you. Wait till they tell you when to sleep with your wife. Then you will know what it really means.

You are just talking without your brains thinking.

Romans 13
King James Version
13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

This was St Pauls instruction to the romans
Mind you Rome during Paul's days was a terrible hedonistic natiin
But they were instituted by God
I am not certain what you are even arguing here.

Are you trying to say CAMA is God's plan for the government registered businesses called churches(which are not God registered entities) or something?

God is only concerned with His followers and their obedience to His Commandments. Your churches and their existences as business entities of the world have nothing to do with God, but the world.

Who are God's followers and where do they gather to praise and worship Him? It's not my churches sir, it's the church of Christ. Jesus Christ alone started the church. It has nothing to do with business. Whoever is using a church's name to do business is entirely up to the person. You or I are not in a position to judge. Let God alone pass judgement.

It shouldn't be because someone does something and you are not happy with the person and then you generalize. Let's stop this nonsense. We have true churches and children of God maintaining their focus on their calling on a daily basis. When you begin to generalize, you pack them in and that's wrong.

You don't pull the whole house down because the roof is leaking. You fix the leakage and let the house be. Sadly, in this case, it's not ours to fix it but God who owns it. The church wasn't man's idea but Christ himself. We had churches right from the days of old and the church would stand until the day of Jesus Christ. No one can cut it down through useless laws. It's written that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church and so shall it be.

Government cannot control churches?

But government said no services since the corona saga and they obeyed. Who controlled who? Why do churches seek building permit and approval from government before building? Why do churches report to government if crime is committed against them? Why are churches crying up to government to provide security against Boko Haram?

They are delusional. Churches are under government. There are no more churches. What they have are business centers where people play betnaija with their salvation.
What is the difference between someone who plays betnaija and hope to win vs someone who pays tithe and hope to prosper financially? They are both gamblers who lose while the operators smile to the bank.

Rejecting the new law in the media won't have any effect. The new CAMA is now a law that must be complied with by all afeected parties. If CAN feels that the law violates the fundamental and constitutional right of its members, they should go ahead and challenge the legality of the law in a court of competent jurisdiction. Anything other than that is just empty noise.
Why should the government make such law in the first place? Why can't those foolish lawmakers and the nepa bill cert. president make laws that will see any corrupt politician sentence to death by hanging when confirm at the court?

What is "spiritually" happening here? A government registered entity complaining about the same government it is registered under updating it's law, yet here you are suggesting a "spiritual" angle exists to all of this.

So what's your point then?

Are you not thereby agreeing with my assertion that CAN is a useless organisation.

What value is an organisation whose members do whatever they like?

As much as the West likes freedom, do you know any govt in the West that allows its citizens to do whatever they like?

Oga I still stick to what I said. CAN doesn't regulate it's members whereas ICAN does.

Keep mute for a while.

After the public hearing they recommended the federal government cannot go-ahead with whatever CAMA. It was rejected by the panel.

But as satanic as Buhari his radicals nature was not sanctified. He went ahead to pass the bill another RUGA issue.

I am just thinking aloud. Is this new law not affecting Muslims too?

Why is MURIC not protesting? What if this law was introduced during Jonathan regime? How will MURIC react if Jonathan signed a law that gave government the authority to remove the Imams of any mosque?

Would CAN oppose this law if it was enacted during Jonathan's regime?

The fact is that religious inclinations has blocked the rational thinking of most Nigerians.

My honest take is that people should have the freedom to practice their religious beliefs without discrimination or government interference.

If you are a Muslim or Christian, do you call those who practice traditional religion derogatory names like pagans and idol worshippers?

Religion is really the "weed"" of the people!

MuRIC will not protest because they have seen the bill is on their side and against Christ.

My own take is that those associations who are calling themselves churches in Nigeria are not actually churches in the eyes of God.

God knows His own Church, and its members are precious in His eyes, and He goes extra miles to protect them.

The so called Nigerian churches needs statutory control, they are supposed to help and support their members, but rather they are mostly involved in extorting their members through one form of project or another. Their leaders and their families live like kings, while their members remained in their pauperish states, awaiting their rewards in Heaven.

The financial activities of churches abroad are being monitored by authorities, and that does not stop these countries development. We need that in Nigeria too.

Thank God it's your opinion.. very sillykne at that

See, you are the one trying to insert God into this debate and I am simply trying to tell you that God has nothing to do with this. Jesus Christ has absolutely nothing to do with this, and this cause is not about Him but more about the administering of the finances of the businesses you call churches.

Jesus Christ never commanded His people to build churches or cathedrals in His name. There were no church houses in the days of old... church businesses came in after the Christian movement was hijacked by a bunch of disgruntled bishops/elders who wanted to control and gain from the movement and led by the roman church, they have succeeded in turning the business into a lucrative one for over 1700 years.

CAMA in Nigeria applies to all religious business entities registered under the government, and since the act has already been signed into law, from my understanding, a subset of the affected businesses have little to no say at this point without getting themselves even deeper into politicking which is what they have always tried to pretend they do not do. If these church businesses want to make their case, then they should come forward with evidence of how this act is in violation of their rights as business entities to freely operate in Nigeria, rather than continuing to pretend that by dragging God's name down in the mud with their nonsense, somehow they will be heard.

CAN is one of the most useless organisations in Nigeria.

An umbrella body of strange bedfellows. Anybody can open a church, even idol worshippers, as long as they send stipends to CAN.

ICAN has more authority over its members than CAN has over its own because ICAN got legal backing to sanction erring members.

Buhari is here to attempt to destroy Christianity. Although God will eventually stop him but for now he has divine backing to make life uncomfortable for those who chose to be more focused on their personal comfort than the well being of the masses in the pews.
So na Buhari sponsor the bill and also passed it at the National Assembly? Did can not participate during public hearing on this bill? Don't we has christians in the National Assembly? Continue accusing Buhari while your useless representathieves are busy chasing NCDC contract and Npower slot...
