AmazonTopaz:See let me tell you no Igbo woman that comes from average family picks interest in his fathers property over the sons even if she is the first daughter. No woman from average family where properties are limited does that.. Even the sons nobody is raised here in average family expecting to inherit rather than working hard to have his or her own. 1 Like |

AmazonTopaz: Those ones are a combination of all types of lethal poisons. I avoid them and they avoid me too... AmazonTopaz: An Igbo woman and a Yoruba man is most times a perfect combination. Yoruba men never grew to expect much, Igbo women are trained to give EVERY. The food you will cook for your Igbo bf and he will be dragging feet to eat, because he has been told it is his RIGHT. A Yoruba guy will swallow it all and ask when you will make your next village soup for him. However, if you are a strong carrier of the oriaku syndrome, avoid Yoruba men. An Igbo man is still king when it comes to giving oriaku pills. 7 Likes |

Odidigboigbo:Abeg ee. What is wrong in a broken home if the woman is being abused and her rights trampled on. Why will she not run away before such men cannot even try that rubbish with yoruba women making such reason as an excuse for such culture is pure wickedness and disregard for human rights. We will get there someday were women will be respected 7 Likes |

the Igbos are very weird people. met a guy from Anambra. during our conversation, dude told me he cannot build house in his village because of his "village people". said he had to appease some kind of village Demi Gods before he leaves every December. how can you discriminate against your own child just because she is female and the selfish thought that she will share the inheritance with her husband. what of her kids? is the property not theirs too? 2 Likes |

BabaRamota1980: It is only an idiot that will say women can't inherit the estates of their deceased father.Aftrr contributing so much to health and welfare of the father. While some men don't even care about thier parents. After the women have taken the responsibility of care, one arsehole will prop from somewhere to claim all the estate. 5 Likes |

Noneroone:So what is so special about the tradition that it cannot be abolished legally. The Law of Nigeria supercedes every tradition and the legal remedy can always be applicable. Just say that the people are adamant to change it does not mean that it is an impossible task that cannot be done away with. Nothing is set in stone. 1 Like |

ZZ22:It is not an igbo mentality speak for yourself I am igbo and I know women who have always shown interest. It is not in your place to decide a woman's interest. As for the average family I get your point but that does not change the fact that females have a right to inheritance and at the same time does not stop them from working to make their own 2 Likes |
