Igbo Or Ijaw, Who Owns Opobo? by SlayerForever: 8:50pm On Aug 26, 2020
On several Opobo Facebook pages there's been a renewed effort by Ijaw nationalists to rope in Opobo into the Ijaw fold and the people are not resisting. The people are been encouraged to do away with anything Igbo inclined in favor of Ijaw.
Re: Igbo Or Ijaw, Who Owns Opobo? by SlayerForever: 8:54pm On Aug 26, 2020
If these people are our people it will be a travesty to let Ijaw grab them in, even if they are ignorant.

Modified.
Also can one explain to me why majority of them in Opobo bear Jaja as name. It's rather strange seeing so many (unrelated) would be bearing the same name. Considering that the word "Jaja" does not mean anything and is only a poor corruption of something else.

They say Jaja of Opobo is igbo, but he ruled over Ijaw people.

Our lack of an expansionist drive is costing us heavily in this point in time. If we were expansionist we won't be having this problem today of certain groups boldly laying claim over sections of our people. Today an Igbo cannot emphatically stand in Opobo and say it is Igboland.

It is at this point we are witnessing an Igbo renaissance that we must now speak up and be heard. On a personal level, these things are highly embarrassing. As a people, it is very painful.

Opobo can be what they want to be! People should be begging to join our ethnic group and not us seeking their hands in fellowship. Being an Igbo is a big priviledge, and I’ll wear that honour till my last days.

Let those with expansionist tendencies continue to knell and beg. We wish them luck just as we did when they went begging the Ndokis. cheesy grin

The Nigerian revisionists are fabricating new history to discredit some Igbo clans of their heritage. To these revisionists there is nothing like Igbo, they are so scared of Igbo that they think that the permanent way to do away with Igbo is to discredit historical ties so that the end there will be nothing like Igbo. That is why you keep on seeing these Bini founded this particular part of Igbo, igala founded this one, Yoruba founded this one, then those they can't link they claim are from congo, Israel and bantu. But at the end Igbo is too stubborn to be subdued, our history says so. The only African ethnic group that took the whites decades to partially control.

Forget o. The situation with Opobo is not the same as that with Ndoki then. Ndoki are hardcore Igbo no matter what, those ones who tried back then were wasting their time. But Opobo is precariously balanced, if you allow outsiders they will succeed with less effort.

ijaw = I + jaw ...........(1)
o + pob + o = opobo.........(2)
since opobo occurs in the combination, they both logically and mathematically have it. QED

Just like ikwerre, opobo is not that strong, they rely on us to speak out for them. They can't stand ijaws alone

Even if we become one country it doesn't mean any marauder can revise history of our people to lay claim to them. Get real.

Dude we are talking about our identity here not Biafra. I am not an Ipob, but this matter is of utmost concern. This is about Igbo it supercedes Biafra and Ipob

The INC and IYC are expanding their territories. Smart guys I must confess. What is stopping IPOB from expanding too? Don’t be jealous of the Ijaws, because they are not the only ones with such foresight. The Benin Descendant forum have up their game from oral history to proper visitation of communities in Rivers state. Until you wake up one day to discover that Afara Ukwu has Benin ancestry, that is when you people will understand the game. grin cheesy grin

Lol!

IPOB are so out of touch with reality.
It's funny and entertaining watching them.

They call people (Ijaws, Igala, etc) who are aggressively expanding their territories into Igboland their delusional Biafra brothers.
So blind that they can't even see under their noses. grin cheesy

The INC and IYC are very optimistic that president Vladimir Putin will contest for Anambra state governor because Chris Ngige will become the new Russian leader in a tete a tete exchange of pleasantries.

The Benin tactics won't stick anymore in Delta. As for those communities in Rivers, to God be the glory. But Opobo has no Benin trace, their situation is still salvageable.
Re: Igbo Or Ijaw, Who Owns Opobo? by Igboid: 10:05pm On Aug 26, 2020
As for the topic.
The most Opobo people I have met are more comfortable in Ijaw skin. So let them be.

Maybe when IPOB stop their clowning and become real Igbo pressure group they are supposed to be, bring on their A game, gain political control of five SE states, show competence in government, develop Igboland more than it currently is, promote Igbo nationalism, maybe then, the likes of Opobos who are actually an amalgam of Igbo and Ijaw, might decide to stop being Ijaw and become Igbos, maybe by then the whole Bini irrational stories in Igboid Delta and Rivers will die naturally.

Aku na Ike n'ebe okwu. Make Igboland prosperous and position Igbo nationality in places of power both politically and economic and watch even non Igbo speaking groups start plotting graphs of how their ancestors were Igbos who lost their Igbo language.
This is not rocket science.
But you tell them(IPOB), and they will not listen

For now, INC And IYC are strong and well positioned to defend the rights and privileges of any body that accepts they are Ijaw, regardless of the whether such group speak an Ijoid language or totally divergent language.
Opobo people recognizes this and so rightly align with Ijaw.
Even Ndoki in Rivers are considering aligning with the INC and IYC.

Onye aghogbu ka agbaa.

But you forgot to mention that IPOB told us that there is an interesting part of ofe nsala which Dave Umahi ate in Aba which Aisha Buharri couldn't cook very well.

The snail later escaped before buharri could catch it.

I noticed same, the igbos are ignoring this new platform of hostility, Infact this kind of war is far more dangerous than the second world War because this can destroy an ethnicity completely

Have you forgotten that Adaka Boro, a staunch Opobo son was instrumental to Oduduwa creation in 1989 during the era of Saraki senior?

What else did you think made made Kudirat Abiola relocate to the house of IBB?
