It's funny how a man who grew up speaking Igbo and died speaking the same language ceased to be Igbo. A man who rose up through sheer handwork and even bought the land where he became the King. Where's that ever done if not because he wanted to clear all doubts? It's like he knew some revisionists like you will arise. You and your likes should steer clear of Opobo.

You Igbos are the reason we are gradually approaching the brink of extinction. Your misguided and myopic approach to Igbos history is the reason they now term us Meta-ethnicity. What's up with you guys and Jewish historical misconception? Now every rival ethnic group is now doing "bend down select" on Igbo clans. Don't just blame ijaw on this, the Golden rule of humanity is survival of the fittest, they are just trying to increase their chance of survival by claiming opobo, any reasonable group apart from ipob should have seen this coming. Now we are at identity war, from Benin at the west, igala at the North, now ijaw from the south and even yoruba from far away west is claiming one clan in Anioma Delta state all because IPOB out of myopic reasoning said that Igbos are lost jews and strangers in igboland
opobo remain an estate of King jaja not ijaw. if you don't know the history go and research about it. jaja found opobo after he left bonny . jajas has never denied his origins even today. ijaw can never claim what doesn't belong them. supreme Court of Nigeria affirms that too.

Another thing is that, though Jaja was said to be a slave I observe nothing was ever mentioned about the circumstances surrounding his sojourn into slavery. Godofuck231 and many Ijaw say the Igbo sold him to them. But that's not known for sure, what if he was abducted as was also the case during the slave trade, and forced to become a slave among the Ijaw people?

Hmmmm. It took Whites decades to control.

But it took Fulani a few years to make you slaves.

Even Asari Dokubo said you're all Ijaw slaves and no single Igbo could even whisper.

This your chestbeating better remain online... or keep your wife's dress in preparation for running away.

The Nigerian revisionists are fabricating new history to discredit some Igbo clans of their heritage. To these revisionists there is nothing like Igbo, they are so scared of Igbo that they think that the permanent way to do away with Igbo is to discredit historical ties so that the end there will be nothing like Igbo. That is why you keep on seeing these Bini founded this particular part of Igbo, igala founded this one, Yoruba founded this one, then those they can't link they claim are from congo, Israel and bantu. But at the end Igbo is too stubborn to be subdued, our history says so. The only African ethnic group that took the whites decades to partially control.

The activities that transpired in that slave trade era were chronicled in a document called the Ahiara declaration and available to all to read and clear their doubts. You cannot wake up and insinuate that the great Steve Adaka Boro is not from Saigama. It's wrong for you to say so.

But the Great Jaja of Opobo is no longer alive and that's why we are saying that jerrymandering systems cannot determine the actual course of electoral collage in a presidential election. That's why Nnamdi Kanu is very confident of a united Biafra devoid of problems.

The supreme court judgement on Opobo is well documented, however we are seeing a situation where jereymandering moves by the Lagos Ibadan express media might lead to the loss of Osun just like Illorin. Akeredolu is a very good governor though.

Bearing Igbo names doesn't make them Igbo. In the North it's not all those that bear Hausa names that are Hausa. Some of them are Northern Christians from other minority tribes.

This line is stale. The people who bear those Hausa names have their own traditions and culture as well as language which are very distinct. These people in question have no other tradition, culture or language separate from Igbo. They are not a separate group.

You people are making me laugh. Jaja became a very powerful businessman during that time from selling palm oil. If he never went back to Igbo land where did he get the palm oil he was selling to the British?

Another question to answer is this. Jaja broke out from Bonny with a whopping 14 war house canoes and a large group of supposedly Ibani people. Then why till today is there a strong Igbo presence in Opobo viz a viz language and culture?

" na who get chest dey beat am" if you read about the so called civil war you'll see that igboland never fell to fulani, Nigeria, UAR and British forces, just the exclave of Biafra, we all had our time during the war. Mr. We are too stubborn to be subdued

Yes, Jaja was originally an Igbo man. The Ijaw society accepts anyone into our fold after the necessary rituals has been performed and an individual after performing the requirements can rise to become King if capable, and in the case of Jaja, he was one of the greatest rulers in precolonial Ijaw history.
God bless his soul.

We the Ijaws are never tribalistic

he was stolen as a young lad.Unlike the misinformation out their ,the ohafia, bende and aro clans in the now Abia north where the only clans know as slave raiders. They raided neighbouring Igbo (ngwa ,ohuhu, obowo clans ) and efik/annang tribes to fuel their slave markets.Other sources of slaves where condemned criminals sentenced at the famous long juju shrine

loud it hahahahahaha. You guys should create 1,000 thread about Ijaws. We are not moved by Igbos propaganda. Concerning the matter, Jaja was sold to us. We groomed him and accultured him the same way Barack Obama became an American. Thereafter he had a quarrel with the Manillas and left to another nearby land to settle. Jaja went to Opobo with over 14 Bonny families. Ijaw nation knows their own and don't need Igbos validation. Ijaw is Igbos greatest nightmare in South South zone.
