The United Nations Convention in the law of the Sea says that a country may claim an area extending 12 nautical miles from its coast as its own territorial sea.

China doesn't recognize this law. It claims the entirety of the South China Sea and that is illegal.

That America can rise or fall is not the context or subject of this discussion. That is a totally different issue or topic. The context of current discuss is an America VS China war. In a real war situation, countryVS country, military VS military, America will destroy China easily. It is not boasting. It is reality. The true reality, not all this fantasy some people here are having. Till today, there is no single technology China has that America stole. None! ZERO! But 90% of Chinese technology was stolen from the West. America was and is superior to China. Maybe that can change in the future. But as of now, this is the true reality.

Russia is boxed in by NATO and other US military formations. America has missiles right at Russia's doorstep. KAZAKHSTAN shares a huge border with Russia. America has military bases there.
