Inform efcc and police immediately. Paste the picture of the shop on all active online forums. Tag efcc via Twitter with the picture of the shop and your transfer details. Do so under 3days. Do not collect another phone from them again.

online dealings nah NO GO AREA for me.. learned my lessons

I'm actually working on something that will spell an end to all this heartaches with online deals. I pray am able to pull through. Most if not all the bottlenecks and loopholes in the present day e-commerce business will be perfectly taken care of.

That should be a good experience, Next time when you buy stuff, open it at that place and try it. There is a difference between refurbish and new phone, They ain't even being kept in same place

You bought a phone without opening and testing in the shop and signed a receipt stating that you tested it,who does that?
Yeah you do not look stupid but you are.
Exactly! Who buys a phone without opening and testing it, especially a phone of such an amount?
Re: I Just Got Scammed by sonofakin: 9:54pm On Aug 27, 2020
Are you sure you bought the phone at that price? Because if you have the market price, what were you doing on Jiji. A reputable phone store will test the phone for you, even test charger and earpiece. Unfortunately, they might say they want to replace the phone, that is if you even meet the seller there. Nevertheless, go there with full force tomorrow, and don't go alone

Hello nairalanders. I would love to share my bitter experience today. It all happened by 5.30pm. I had a chat with a seller on jiji and we agreed on a price. I got to his shop and inspectred and saw all phones were sealed. So a receipt was issued and it was written tested and okay. I paid through transfer and left thanking god i managed to get a brand new phone.

By the time i got back home, I tore the nylon as usual. However i heard a sound . I opened the box and saw the phone had flipped. I took out the screen protector, the phone was on. Inshort the phone was a refurbished phone. I felt sad and scammed. I called the shop and they start telling me sorry, that they did not know its refurbished .but i saw them all sealed in nylon. I later discover that the seal tape was missing. The imei sticker at the back was missing, lo and behold the screen was poorly glued. They promised to replace a brand new one. Now the question is how will i be sure brand new one is brand new one.

Nigerian crooks can get anywhere to get the seal sticker before opening it as brand new. I feel so stupid right now. All this happened at iwo road, inside a nice shop to fool ppl. I feel so ashmed. i paid 135k but got refurbished phone of 70k worth.

Re: I Just Got Scammed by emmydee(m): 9:54pm On Aug 27, 2020
You have money to purchase a brand new phone, you have the time to even get to the shop, why do you need to buy via online. Next time you wish to buy a new phone, go to where new phones are sold, not road side shops. I mean, go to the big shops. They would never sell a refurbished phone to you.

Op was too excited to the extent that he agreed the phone is tested and certified that's it's in good condition. Ideally, they unbox it dere and test before you leave... Top Success, Phone Hub, Slot...all at Iwo road normally do the aforementioned.

Lesson: Do not let overzealous ruin ur party.

That’s how I bought a hair cream , expensive too only for me to get home and it had expired .

I went back to the shop, they were telling me nonsense that I should take another hair cream as they can’t give me a refund . I change am for dem fast fast dem no believe .

I said I don’t want any other product but that one which unfortunately had expired to no fault of mine . About 3 of the supermarket staffs were putting pressure on me to take another product as a replacement, I didn’t give in.

Last last I said I want to see the manager , and I raised my voice on them. They gave me my money o. Some Business owners are just so wicked . They want to gain at your own loss.

Nobody scammed you,you deserve it,since you have agreed on the price why keeping the seal, why waiting to reach home before opening it?,to cap it all,you signed a receipt that you tested it and it was OK,in this modern day?,and you went to school?,if I were the shop owner,if you come to my shop to make trouble, I will get you arrested and present my receipt to the police and you will turn the scammer.
It's your type that will buy cloth and wear it with the label, you wan brag say you buy new phone, Ode.

Just hear your self out... Why do most Nigerians have this kind of mentality.. So there is nothing like trust any more in this country...
No wonder most African countries hate us.. Call us scammers and drug pushers!!!!
