hmm for me yes you can say he was one of our best players in Russia and Egypt but off the top of your head which moments can you point to during those tournaments will you really say he wowed you? i think etebo's attacking instincts need to be reignited. don't know why rohr hasn't tried him more often in an advanced role in the final third of the pitch

He has not been playing in an advanced role at club level.

This talk is dust sha.

So Totti is not class because he never left his comfort zone?
Maldini too abi?
Messi also?

smh, I don't know who brought the idea that premiership should be the standard for measuring a players ability. I really don't know.

The fact that players never played in the premiership doesn't mean they're not class!!!

The fact that players don't leave their comfort zone doesn't mean they're not class!!!

Kai, any small thing, premiership. Like sey na there football start and end
what am trying to say is that the German bundesliga is not competitive apart from timorous werner who challeng Lewy for the golden boot who else can do that

I think Etebo's move is disappointing. It is almost as bad as his move to Stoke after a decent WC. There are more competitors for his midfield role coming up and i do not think this move helps his position.

I know you post this so that you can sleep well but the truth is these ones are old and yet to be updated. Chidera is now at CSKA. Osimhen is now at Napoli. Etebo now at Gala. Mikel at Stoke. Ogenyi Onazi is no more at Trabzonspor. Balogun is no more at Brighton but at Rangers. Even K.Nwakali is no more an Arsenal lad.

Relax and wait for the real updates on our players. We can only confirm that Africa's top players in FIFA 21 are Salah (90), Mane (90), Koulibaly (88), Auba (87), Mahrez (85) and Ziyech (85).
I respect FIFA's ratings on certain attributes of players coz I know they do research on most of these and also when it comes to certain aspects on the top players, it is interesting to see as they try as much as possible to sync real life qualities with how they are in the game... but there will always be some controversies on these ratings too.

Meanwhile, I hope you know even if Ajagun's ratings get updated to 100 in FIFA 21, that he still won't be invited for the October and November games. grin grin Better digest that one now and sleep well. O pari grin

P.S: O pari reminds me of Icon79. Hope the dude is fine.

Do you have the recent one? If not, resist the urge to shalaye. Until it is updated, this is still valid. No need for the shalaye. grin

FIFA just opened our eyes small. We're just wondering how Ajagun was rated by FIFA. I
mean, rated above some players for that matter. grin

Maybe you might have a difficult sleep tonight seeing and knowing this. grin

Like I said, no need to shalaye. grin

Singing "Shalaye" in your post a hundred times doesn't suddenly make the ratings you dropped valid. grin

It is old. Out of date. And that is the entire point. See how you singled out just Ajagun... Oga... If him like make him ratings enter 101. No NT invite. Sorry. Lol grin

I think he hadn't any choice. He left to Getafe, yeah?

He knew for certainty he couldn't stay in England.

I don't think anyone here has actually praised the transfer, we're more of, "well, it's better than Stoke"

Yes. Invalid b'cos we have new ratings now. October 9 is just the public release date but it is already out in the open in some quarters. Clubs have received their Players' ratings.

Furthermore, the one you drop is also incorrect in some ways. Osimhen is actually 78 by the latest base card from the now outdated and outgoing FIFA 20. Not 77.

And Ajagun is 68. I don't even know what you were celebrating here. grin Na 68 you dey jump and down for?? Hahahahaha

Don't worry... Ajagun will be 101 in FIFA 21 and we still won't invite him. Hard to take? wink

I understand shaa... Ajagun hasn't earned a callup so you turn to FIFA to console you. I know na Ajagun dey wear #10 for your All Nigerian FIFA team. grin BUT NA REAL LIFE WE DEY OKAY. NO INVITE STILL. grin Pele... wink

The championship is where Rooney went to retire. So it just depends. People say the same about Italy. But do people play champions league in retirement?

Rooney actually is a BIG DISSAPOINTMENT when taken in the context of his unique and world class ability.

He is supposed to be competing with his age mates Ronaldo and Messi. But NO, he retired to the USA first ( chop big money) and has come to Derby with the expectation of a player manager Role.

This is one unique world class player who is already satisfied.

It is has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Championship being a retirement league.

Each country in the European leagues is given can opportunity to compete in the Champions league. It has nothing to do with the quality of the league.

How far they go is a reflection of the league quality.

Finally, how many players have retired to Turkish league from the top leagues TOO MANY TO COUNT.

sorry bro..you be MTN agent? she na everywhere you dey go ni?

I will deviate slightly.

Distance is not the issue but connectivity.

So for instance from Manchester to London 200 miles + distance, takes about 2 hours on the train can cost over £160 return at peak times.

From Manchester to Nottingham which is about 80 miles takes 3.5 hours meanwhile, it's half the distance.

So distance does not define connectivity. So it's easier and quicker to go to London which is double the distance. Than to go going to Nottingham albeit more expensive.

Meanwhile you can take a flight to Madrid or Porto in Spain take two hours and can cost £60 return.

So it really is not a big deal to fly out to Madrid in the morning and come back in the evening for very little money and minimum inconvenience.

My footballer friends would regularly charter a private jet, go to Milan do shopping and chop Italian gourmet cuisine ( not my preference) and come back in the evening.

This is to inform.

Lol.... Shifting the goal posts now? Why straying from the issues in discourse? The issue here is Cadiz. grin

You said the first team quality of Cadiz was poor when you paid them a visit a few years ago and I am saying things have changed since then for them and they are now in La Liga. That alone shows a marked quality improvement as regards their first team. They beat out good Ball Playing Segunda sides like Girona and Almeria to get automatic promotion.

Now you have left this and started attacking the quality of the Segunda which you hardly watch anyway only b'cos you wanna talk up the Championship again. Dude.... happy typing. Got no time today for your evasive manner of discussion. And talking Finance... Gala will be paying Etebo 1.2M euros for a year. Stoke could never match that for Etebo. So by finance alone, according to your usual way of twisting things, this would mean Gala definitely is a huge stepup from the Championship. Ciao. wink

If a league is poor quality and you get promoted from the poor quality league to a far better league you have now become TOP QUALITY. That's essentially your proposition.

You EVADED the question and brought in narrative that has no bearing on the comparison.

I hardly watch Segunda División because the quality is VERY POOR.

I asked you and indeed challenge anybody to with objectivity make a comparison of the player composition of Stoke a mid level Championship team and any team in the Segunda División.

Then show one team that can attain up to 25% of the player composition quality in comparison with Stoke.

Stoke should be more familiar considering the number of Nigerian players in the team.

I could ask us to look at the cost of players transfer between clubs in the Segunda División. But that would be a sledge hammer to kill a fly.

Please matters should be within the context and specifics of the questions raised.

If indeed Everton get a winger, then it could be over for him...
I really hope not...

The problem with Iwobi.

He has no clear cut unique selling point. He is neither an outstanding winger or AM.

And although he has had to up his game, he has to do fall in line with the hard work ethic at Everton. That's why he got some muscle stress Injuries. I dont think he has ever worked as hard as he has at Everton in his entire career.

He has to perfom outstandingly there are now quite a few contenders for his position. It's not going to be easy.

So it is already out there and clubs have received it especially the top clubs. Even your club, Chelsea have received theirs.

Meanwhile....

Thank you. With the bolded, you have beautifully shut down the discussion. The context and bounds of the discussion was if Cadiz still boast the same poor quality you saw few years ago. Well, for a team that just got promoted from the Segunda (La Liga 2) that play more of technical football rather than the Kick-and-rush style of the Championship... then that says a lot. Danke! wink
