Good morning everyone, please help me, I planned going for my master in one of the cheap universities in Manchester within the range of £5000 to £10,000. I have used findamaster.com all what I am seeing is £16k to £23k. I studied political science(ed.) I don't mind changing my field too. Searched thru the night even school site. Especially university of Manchester, university of salford and Manchester Metropolitan uni. Eejo Biko help me
check Edinburgh napier university or GCU in glasgow. It's more cheap to live in scotland with availability of student jobs.

Please, I read a post on this thread where someone said he was asked during the interview Who's sponsoring me?. For those whose brother sent the funds into their account, what should be their reply to this question since a brother is not a legal sponsor. Should the answer be self funded despite the brother sent the funds to him into his account?

How do you book BA. I just checked their flight schedule and they do not have flights from Lagos to London.
Even wakanow was upto 500k for this route

Call wakanow or send them a DM on instagram. It’s the student fare and I booked mine for N214,000 this morning for Lagos to London. The student fare is only available for London, Toronto and Newyork destinations. If your arrival city is outside London, the student fare won’t apply

Congrats to all brethrens, who have received their visas.
Pls, could you pls give 'Date of visa issue' and 'Date of Transfer to VAC'.

I'm trying to deduce, if it's just a day difference, like visa issued on 1st, transfer to vac on 2nd (for instance) OR just the days difference between visa issue/transfer to vac.

Boss the wait is tiring.

@mimilyrics, @justwise, @zabethmay, @naledis, @EVERYBODYTHATRECEIVEDVISA

Thanks

You're self funded if the money is in your personal account and you're using your personal bank statement as evidence of finance even if your bro or any other family sends your maintenance funds to your account.

The question usually asked about source of funds during the interview is basically to ascertain if the funds are truly available to the applicant and it doesn't negate the fact that the applicant is self-funded.

Pretty stoked. I was about to pay N385,000 for same flight when I saw the special student fare for London destination at N214,000. My friend booked her flight to Newcastle for N266,000, also British Airways

Thank you. The reason why I asked is because the person were asked few of these questions:
1) Who's sponsoring me?
2) How much does he earn
3) How many dependents does he have?

If I tell them I'm self funded since all the funds is in my account, won't they ask for the work I'm doing?

@mimilyrics. This is the post. I'm still waiting for his own reply too

Celomomo:
About 7 minutes

Asked me;

If I feel fit and well before we start

Can you tell me your name, DOB and nationality

Which school am I going?

Did I consider other schools?

What are the modules of my course?

Have I completed other courses(degree)

What I have been doing since graduation

What are my future plans

Who's sponsoring me?

How much does he earn

How many dependents does he have?

If I understood the questions?

Asked if I'm still feeling fit and well after the interview.

Then we thanked each other

Those are normal questions to ascertain that the money is truly available to you and not a facade. Being self funded basically means that you got the money from your family or from your savings/earning. No need to sweat it.

If you say you got the money from your salary savings, employment questions will follow and if you say your family gave you the money, questions on the financial ability of the family member will follow.

For clarity, official financial sponsors are international organisations / companies, UK govt, your home govt, your T4 sponsor who will usually show this sponsorship via an official letter or your CAS as the case may be.

Your parents can also officially sponsor you and you'll need to submit their statements, consent and your birth or adoption certificate as proof of this. Questions are often asked to ascertain their financial capabilities.

You can be self sponsored if you are showing the required funds in your account but these funds do not necessarily have to be from your earnings. Family members apart from your parents or legal guardians can transfer funds to you towards your studies since they don't qualify as official financial sponsors and in this case, they can be referred to as "unofficial" sponsors (meaning that you can't submit their bank statements to support your application but they can give you money towards your course) and questions are sometimes asked about their financial abilities.

I assume that the poster submitted his parents' bank statements hence the "how much does he earn" question immediately after the "who is sponsoring you" question. I may be wrong though but it seems like it.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate.

Please, last questions. I deferred my admission to January due to COVID 19 and my 28 days financial requirements completed July 18. Please, when I'm ready to print my statement, should I print from July to date or I will print only one month.

Also, I have been seeing some terms here which I don't really understand. What's (1) Walk in (2)assisted services.

Thank you once again.

You can print for the one month before your application submission.
Walk-in is for those who want to walk in to the VAC for their biometrics earlier than their appointment dates and time while the assisted service is when the VAC staff scans and uploads your documents for you.
