Midway into his meal, this guy brought out some drugs to take and then he finished his meal. Table was cleared but the guy remained seated. Then few minutes later, he was observed to have laid his head on the table, eyes closed and they thought he was sleeping, not knowing the guy has passed off.

After like 30 minutes, one of my babe's worker decided to wake him to leave so that other customers could make use of his chair as everywhere was filled up. She raised the alarm when she tried to wake him and he was not responding. The guy was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two hours later, my Girlfriend's restaurant was raided by the police on the suspicion that he poisoned the guy. All the food she cooked that day were seized and taken away for testing. And she and her workers have been in jail since and all efforts to see her has been unsuccessful. They won't let me see her and they won't tell me the results of their investigations so far.

I just don't know what to do. The food they claimed was poisoned was served to others and no one complained of even stomach pains not to speak of dying. I even ate from the food earlier that morning.

The way the whole case is going is so confusing and murky and it seems the guys family are well of and they are looking for someone to blame, innocent or not.

So guys, please what do I do? My girlfriend is all alone, no notable family to speak of, who could come out to help. Her parents are late and she isn't close to her relatives. I'm all she's got.

Get a lawyer to follow the case na. What do you want us to do.

Our Police are just very hasty in their actions..and it is all in a bid to extract as much money as possible.

What a modern day police would do

- Get witness statements
- Take SAMPLES of what the guy ate ( his plate of food and not the entire food cooked)since other customers were not affected
- Wait for an autopsy report from the hospital
- Act based on the outcome of the the food test and autopsy report

Surely this is not rocket science but the Nigeria Police Force is staffed with idiots

To my people saying autopsy, do you all know that autopsy may not be her saving grace but can even put her in more trouble. There are some disease conditions that can be aggravated by consuming a particular type of food or drink. My people, if that is the case, autopsy would simply show that he died of condition XYZ after consumption of food ABC, which happens to be from her restaurant. Although this shouldn't be an issue, since there was no way she could have known, but trust Nigerian police, they are likely to make an issue out of it and if they cannot not pin murder on the fiancée, they may attempt to pin manslaughter. In this case what you need is a VERY good lawyer, if not !!!!!!

This same. Thing happened in Abuja last 2weeks. De guy died after eating indomie .

Get a good lawyer first, Make more noise on social Media and get the attention of Nigeria Police force. You can also reach out to influential Human rights Activists to lend their mouth to the issue.

Let them go to court. At this time, it's a case of suspected murder. Nothing could be done at station level in this circumstance. Don't pay them a dime for investigation. Let them bring all the allegations, evidence and autopsy report. A good lawyer will get her out. Engage one.

My concern is that the restaurant won't be same again after this incident. Most customers will quietly walks away. The best bet may be for her to relocate from that vicinity as the goodwill garnered over the year will be rubbished by that incident that was not fault of hers. Trust the competitors to use it to de market her business big time. I feel for her.

All they need to do before eating is to ask the lady and her staff to eat and confirm it's not poisoned.

Which kind of test do they want to do with a full cooler of soup or rice? Abi na Taste dey wan do?

Even if they have resources for the test, a cup-size of each food sample is more than enough.

They should do autopsy on him and find the cause of his death. She should just get a good lawyer and the should have evidence of the drug taken by the sick guy...this is just a simple case but Nigerian Police are so poor and irresponsible that they are eager to be rich with every slightest mistake.

honestly, na money matter but if you can @ segalink and Abdul Mahmud on Twitter then you might have a chance getting her out. The police are at a disadvantage now because she should have been charged to court now with results of the tests. If you want to get her out fast then see the DPO & IPO with enough cash, if you want to go through courts which might mean her coming out in a few months (best scenario) then get a lawyer but talk to those guys I told you about, they’re your next best hope for speed apart from money. Hurry up before she’s charged to court o

There are specific days for the different classes of people they keep. You won't be refused visiting her.

Have an autopsy carried out on the said guy, whatever result you get afterwards should be presented to the police/court of law. Get a lawyer to advise you on this, it's very important. Ensure whatever conversation you have with the police, staff, doctor is recorded. Make sure you get proper information from the doctor.

Sampete, I would have said get a lawyer first like everyone is saying. But if his family is connected, it will delay the entire process and she'll suffer in prison.


Bros, just go and beg the man's family. Beg them very well and plead your girlfriend's case. They are the only ones who have the power to allow her go.

Forget about lawyers. If you get one, the police and the man's family will stress you. You'll end up paying the lawyer and the police after the case drags and drags.

Contact any human right office close to you and speak for the unjustifiable detention of ur babe and her colleagues.. Dat man died a natural death.

Ask for damages for seizing ur babes food and locking her up.. Sue dem first, else police wud use ur matter to fund his personal steorey building

Take everything to God in prayer asking for God's forgiveness in whatever way you have offended God and be ready for amendments.

Why can't an autopsy be conducted.

Get a lawyer and try to get her bailed.
Insist on an autopsy through the lawyer if they refuse press charges against them for illegal detention etc.

Once experienced a similar issue while working with a Restaurant.
