Please house I have an urgent questions.

I have managed to get my agent/sponsor into agreeing to convert my application from standard to priority.

My agent just called (through my sponsor) that if he proceeds that the original interview date will change and I may be giving a date in December.

I would like to think that this is not the case.

I had to send him the step that @mamacajah posted yesterday since he wont give me access to the application platform.

Please for those that have done it, is it through that the original interview date might change to a date in the future?

Please it is kind of urgent, my sponsor is waiting for me to confirm if I want to go through with it or not? I just want to be double sure.

Sorry if my question sound like no brainer but given my current circumstance I can't help but to ask and be double sure.

Infact once I get a feedback I will forward it to him.

Thanks for swift response.

Yes, you can drive an insured car, with you as a named driver on the insurance for 1 year.

Thank you so much so to understand in order for someone with Nigerian licence you drive in the U.K. for one year , they would need to be added to an insured car as a second person on an insurance. Thank you

You can simply go to TLS on your appointment day and tell them you want to pay for priority. You will use ATM card to pay.
For the Lagos centers, you can pay inside the office but I think it's different for Abuja. Someone once mentioned you have to pay to the people outside (for Abuja).

If you haven’t done biometrics, just relax. On the day of your biometrics, pay at the TLS.

They might refuse inside, but I heard those at the gate do it. But find out from inside first.

Also, you can just leave it as standard application. Standard application visas have been coming out in 9days recently.

Besides, why is your agent refusing you access to your application. These agents really know how to be unfair. I wonder why people still patronize them. Smh

International licence, not Naija licence.

And the insurance premium would be significantly more expensive. Best to apply for a provisional licence once you collect your BRP, do a few lessons, the theory test and then the practical test. Since you can already drive, 5-10 lessons should be adequate. The lessons aren’t essential but would be helpful.

You can download the theory test app and start studying for that now if you have some free time.

Hello Everyone,
Towards the end of last month, I applied to Bournemouth University for Data Science and Artificial intelligence, University of East Anglia and University of Stirling all M.Sc Data Science.
The choice of picking the Institutions was mainly due to their ranking with UEA at 200th, followed by Stirling at 301 - 350 and Bournemouth at 401 - 450, affordable tuition less discount and Bournemouth offering 30 weeks placement which is optional.

This week, I received an offer letter from Bournemouth University(Tuition fees £14,500 + Placement year £850), there was no form of discount stated in my offer letter. Though it was stated on their website that a discount of £3500 is to be awarded for Academic Excellence... I don't know if it is a norm at their end.
On the other hand, University of Stirling stated that from my tuition fees of £16950, a discount of £4000 will be given.

I'm still kinda confused on which University to chose... Although Stirling has a better ranking than BU and both 've got a pretty nice course module.
Is there anyone studying in any of these University or maybe from past experience?
What's it like studying at BU or Stirling, ease of access of getting a Job after graduation (as one is in England and the other in Scotland), accommodation and any other input would be of greater value?

Looking forward to your response. Many thanks!

To avoid stories that touch, insist that the agent sends you a pdf copy of the application before he submits it so you can see what’s there. It’s YOUR application and you should take full responsibility for it.

Someone just said how an agent ‘lied’ about a previous refusal and he/she was banned because of that.

As @Dami24 insinuated, tread carefully o.

If u read this threat thoroughly you must have come across where it says that Uk tier 4 visa is Point Based System (PBS), as soon as you meet the required points ur visa is almost guaranteed not minding your previous visa refusal in other countries however you MUST DECLARE THEM

Agitude17:
Long post alert Pls gurus in the house , have been a silent reader and I have really learnt a lot
. Pls for some with 2US visit visa refusal(family) The first refusal was based on my husband who was the primary applicant made a mistake on his form so he was not allowed in I had to go in with our son alone for the interview, I didn’t have all the answers to the questions asked so I was denied but we reapplied 2months later and we were given. The second refusal is that I had my second baby in the US went to renew and they denied US based on discounted bill (in which we paid all our hospital bills in full) but the VO said the money paid is less than the cost of hospital bill in in new jersey we paid $8000 in total but the VO said we should have paid $15000 and this was in 2016.
A ban from Canada resulting from not informing the Canadian government about the refusal ( we used an agent honest truth we didn’t know he filled NO instead of Yes cos we actually told him we have bin denied but I think he mistake us for another client (though na the matter we still Dey settle )we trusted him enough to deliver because he did for our friend and it was successful no reason to doubt him though we take full responsibility we should have verified b4 submitting big mistake. So now my Question is will any school be willing to sponsor me already with a ban. want to apply for a MSc program in the Uk going alone without my family . Pls which University will be willing to sponsor Me pls I need answers urgently pls @mimilyrics @justwise and other gurus in the house pls help

Congratulations on your offer sometimes when applying to a school there are certain factors you need to consider such as

Course Modules are you sure you can do the modules? Are the modules tailored to fit into your career.

Accreditation, do what to say behind after your masters. Does your future career need a professional accreditation before you get a good job.

Is your School/Department partner with companies or do they hold career fairs for students?

You need to consider these things and secondly you need to have other reasons why you choose a school because we are not sure if interviews will resume later at TLScontact. And you can't tell them you are doing the course because of Job access. There is no job that comes at ease after graduation even if you graduate from the best school.

I would like to think that this is not the case. Exactly

I had to send him the step that @mamacajah posted yesterday since he wont give me access to the application platform. This is highly suspicious and exactly why the use of agents is discouraged. Many have received bans due to the antics of these so-called agents.

Please for those that have done it, is it through that the original interview date might change to a date in the future? Not true. All you need do is present yourself on your appointment date and pay for priority. In fact, the tls staff will ask if you want to upgrade to priority

I booked my BA flight through Wakanow last week. I wasn’t told I would need to provide a covid result and BA does not require one either. I suspect Nigeria airport authorities are the ones asking to see it randomly (various travelers have had varying experiences)

I would advise you do the test at one of the centers offering it free of charge. Whatever happens on the day you’re traveling, you’ll be covered.

You UK process is so simple that there is absolutely no need for an agent to do your student visa....can be hectic but still straightforward
With all the horror stories and ban up and down that result from agents packaging what not. I am surprised people still use them

As other said you need to thread carefully. Any misrepresentation can get 10 years ban so as you are using agent. You better find a way to get that control back so you know exactly what is submitted on your behalf . Remember a ban is not on the agent passport or name but on the applicant. Meaning the applicant bears full consequences

Thanks for your input.

1. Well, I have a Mathematics background and I have been teaching Further Mathematics close to 4 years now. I just wanted a switch in my career path and being that Data Science is kinda related to my first degree and I can demonstrate numerate skills. I don't think I will have much problem with the modules.
The only problem I may have in which I'm trying to devote my time at the moment is my 'programming skills' especially in the area of Python.

2. Data Science being one of the sexiest Job is in shortage worldwide and it's even listed on UK shortage occupation. Who wouldn't wanna stay back with the proposed PSW that will be introduced mid 2021? Staying back may be an option. Bournemouth and University of East Anglia are accredited by BCS.
Meanwhile, being one of Jobs in shortage ... I don't really think accreditation is compulsory to getting a good Job. If there are... I don't think it will be a problem.

3. Yes, the Universities have partnerships with companies. There are options for placements(more like internships) with their industry partners at Stirling and Bournemouth.

The bolded looks funny tho'... No one would wanna try such. Thanks once again.
