IboBoyNuel:
Good day Gurus in the house.

I made my first application in February and I got a rejection. The GCMS notes shows that the Refusal reason was based on Current employment situation and Home ties.

I have addressed these issues to the best of my ability and I want to try again. I still intend to use the same sop but I want to also submit an LOE tackling the Refusal reasons.

Please can someone help me with a sample of an LOE?

Frankrobbn1 and other Gurus please help.

Please gurus in the house, a school processing agent in Canada wants to process admission without a course that when I get there that's when I will choose a course of my choice. Now the question is:

1: What is the chance of getting a visa without a course of study?
2: He wants to apply with just my WAEC of 2006, I am 32y/o will age be a limiting factor to secure visa?

Thanks in advance for your prompt answer.

It is highly impossible to get admission without choosing a course.

Be careful chief, the agent might be one of those fraudulent agents.

Run Run Run Run. I know the agent, see rejection waiting at your doorstep. Take your time and apply for masters.

Hello,
Process admission without a course? I have never heard of such a thing. It’s most likely a scam. What will you tell the visa officer via your SOP (statement of purpose) that you are going to do in Canada?

Age is not a limiting factor. Study/educational gaps are generally not a problem if you can explain what you have been doing since your last studies with proof! Have you attended any school since finishing your waec? What have you been doing since then?

Please do the work of reading and learning about gaining admission and study permit (visa) It’s a good thing you found this thread early. It has loads of information. Please kindly read page by page starting from page one and your knowledge would increase. Don’t just put yourself at the mercy of unqualified agents. Nobody can do for you as much as you can do for yourself. Do your research, read a lot and if anything isn’t clear, please free free to ask questions on the thread.

All the best.

Hmmm, inside life,

You need a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a school to apply for a Canadian Study Visa

By the way, you didn't state your Profile
- Your Present Academic Qualification (are u a graduate - HND / B.SC)

- Employment Status (Are you working)

Cos at that age, its a PGD/PG.Cert or Masters you should be pursuing not an Undergraduate Program

Thank you so very much for your response. I have ND and HND in Environmental Health, but the HND certificate not yet ready just the ND. I graduated in 2017.

Ok, since you av an HND , it's a PGD/PG cert related to your program (Environmental Health) u should apply for so you can show Academic/Career Progression
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 12:16am On Sep 26, 2020
In that case, you should be considering a post graduate diploma related to your previous field of study or work experience.

I think there are some post graduate diplomas that can be gotten with ND (correct me if I’m wrong house)Please wait for more knowledgeable people in the house to give their advice.

Meanwhile, please start doing your research, looking at schools and courses and their requirement for international students. Take your time and do it right, to reduce chances of rejection.

All the best

Sorry house. I fully intended to update the house. Received my GCMS notes and it showed that Eligibility was passed. It went on to undergo secondary review in China. Then it was sent to Edmonton. Sha basically it appears the AIP was a positive sign. But I have already deferred admission to next year before I got the AIP.

Try send an email to the international department of the college you intend to go for their PG. Cert, explain to them you only have your ND certificate

Also ask if you can use a statement of result to apply for a PG. Cert (which I feel you might have)

And if you have ur Transcript (for HND) with you, you can use that to apply for a PG. Cert

Just make enquiry from them about your situation based on available documents, if you can use it to apply for a PG.Cert, they will respond to you

Goodluck

You need to ditch that agent as quickly as possible. Please endeavor to read this thread from the first page. If you are patient self, go to part 16 or 15. That money you are about to pay the agent will be useful for so many other things.

Why you need to ditch the agent:
1. It is impossible to get a study permit without stipulating the course. You need to attach your admission letter to the application. Then you need to write a letter of explanation in which you try to convince the Visa Officer about why you picked that course, what you hope to benefit from it and how it will help you to progress in your career or achieve your goals.

2. Study gap of over 10 years? You need to have a real good explanation of what you have been doing since then and why you have now decided to go to school.

Please just settle down, put in a few months of serious research both on this thread and other platforms. You will figure out what you need to do.

Wow, great,

Congratulations in Advance...

I got a question,

Is it compulsory/advicable an Applicant who got AIP wait for a Visa Decision before deferring his/her admission to September 2021 (since that's the only available intake for the program)?

Thanks my brother. I don’t know really because the reason I gave for my own deferral was because I had not yet received any response from the VO. (I deferred before the AIP). If I recall your school asked you to defer because they are not offering online option. If you wait to receive visa decision before deferring what I’d there is no more space in the 2021 fall session by then?

You have a point,

But in a scenerio where full tuition has bin paid, will they say there is no more space?

Am asking this cos of ELIGIBILITY CHECK

Cos I heard different things on a canadavisa forum, someone asked "Is it safe to defer with an AIP"

The Responses was

Many have made the same mistake so don't defer just don't people are getting rejected because of that

If you have received AIP and deferred to next intake. It is important to update the deferal letter through webform,This was clearly told in the webinar ircc conducted

The eligibility will not be checked again as told by the IRCC agent in the webinar. However the course and University should be the same. And also the updated LOA should be sent through webform.

A common and deadly mistake that people with full scholarship from a reputable organization, especially in Canada, make is to state on cic form that their program is funded by another person or organization. A friend of mine made the same mistake and paid a one year wait sacrifice for it. He was lucky his school allowed him to defer his admission and scholarship by one year. I guess he thought I didn’t know what I was saying because I was in Nigeria with him then.

For all scholarship holders, that CIC form that ask for your Fund and sponsor is the most crucial form for you to fill. Just divide your scholarship appropriately and state the name of your school or organization as your sponsor e.g University of Alberta Masters or PhD scholarship.

Also brag about your academic achievements small in your letter of explanation or statement of purpose. Let the visa officer know that you worked for it and you got it.

As long as you single and have scholarship that is tuition + living expenses, your funding issue is gone. Submit your scholarship letter and reference it in your letter of explanation. Tell the visa officer how you qualified for it. Is it by GPA, publication, or experience? Mention them.

I applied with scholarship and about 700,000 naira in my account and 1.5 in my dads account. I didn’t mention him as my sponsor, but he transferred about three hundred thousand naira to my account to support my visa application. My friend reapplied with similar format and got his visa. If na by money, some of us will never study or visits any place outside of Nigeria.

After stating your scholarship properly, What you have to present is home ties. A volunteer position and or family members in Nigeria will do it. Many have gotten study visa with full scholarship and no job or assets in Nigeria. However, once you are married and with kids, the case becomes slightly more complicated because you have to show how your partner and children will survive when you are away.

All the best.

Hello.
She should order her GCMS notes to see what’s happening. For many people, decisions have been made but haven’t been communicated to them. From the notes you’ll see if any step has been failed and also the visa officer’s final notes (if already available)

To order the notes you can use third party websites, just google GCMS notes and you’ll see how to order it. It can take up to 35 days for it to be ready after ordering it and it costs $12.

All the best.
