Ogiamien is the name of an important royal family in Benin Kingdom. Towards the end of the Ogiso dynasty (12th century), Ogiso Owodo did not have a son to succeed him, his brother Evian therefore took over after Owodo's death in 1130AD. This interrupted the tradition of primogeniture (in which the elder son succeeds to his father) in the Ogiso's rule. Evian had a son who ruled as Ogiamien Erebo which has a meaning close to "king who rules the land of the Binis". Traditionally, the Ogiamien is the owner of the land in Benin Kingdom and once a year the Oba is traditionally renewing the lease of half of the land.

First of.. Evian was not the ogisos brother... He was unnamed... Evian was an administrator of the kingdom, it was due to the fact that the son Ekaladerhan was banished... So while Evian wanted to extend his rule by putting his son. Thus the chiefs revolted, and went to look for the banished prince... To further prove this paragraph is a lie... Erebo wic is said "King who rules the land of the Binis" happens to be false..
Why?
Because according to traditional history wic the Ogiamen also believe, The word Benin was originated from Oranmiyan meaning ile Ibinu meaning land of annoyance and it was said to be because Oranmiyan found it hard to rule them...
And also...As at when the Ogiso/ Evian ruled, the land was still called Igodomigodo
So if the land was still Igodomigodo as at when Evian ruled and changed when Oranmiyan came and left, where did the name Erebo which means"King who rules the land of the Binis" come from if there was no place even called Ile Ibinu as when the fake character"Erebo" was said to have ruled...

During the rule of Ogiamien Erebo, the Benin Kingdom was at war with the troops of Orumiyan, who was actually the grand-son of Izoduwa, a Benin prince then called Ekaladerhan who had fled the Ogiso's court to settle in Ile Ife in Yorubaland as its ruler. This war was therefore a Bini war. Orunmiyan left his son Eweka to continue the fight with the Benin Kingdom and went back to Ile-Ife.
Eweka was successful in mounting pressure on the kingdom of Ogiamien Erebo whose chiefs were starting to warm up to the idea of surrendering to the lead of Eweka.

This is another lie on it own... First according to the Yorubas, when Oranmiyan left Benin, he went straight to Oyo and became the first Alaafin...
Secondly When Oranmiyan came, he married a Benin woman named Erinmwinde and gave birth to Eweka who was dumb at birth...
And its on account that Eweka was made to talk after an incantation and played a marble game(popular in Benin) where he spoke his first words " owomika" meaning my hand got it

Having said that, this further proves that there was no such Benin war

For more info , read abt Egharevba book"A short history of Benin".. Egharevba is one of the biggest indigenous historians in Benin kingdom and his works are everywhere

my dear don't jump the question.

where did ezechime come from?

You still see "chi" and "Eze" for person name and still dey ask where the person come from.
Well someone has already answered your question in 2015 my dear Ife yoruba man.

Donarozzi:

The elders of Onicha-Ugbo, who are the bonafide descendants of the first son of Ezechime, said that their patriarch Ezechime came from Nri, one of the oldest Igbo communities. Historians have done a lot of research on this issue, and their findings showed that Chime (Ezechime) was an Igbo man. His name, the names of his followers, the names of his wife and children, the language and culture of his descendants, all evidence points to one direction: Igbo.

From all my research, Ezechime was a wealthy man who moved from Arochukwu to Nri-Awka area during the slave trade. Some of the Umuezechime clan, especially Onicha-Ugbo, said that Ezechime came from Nri-Awka axis, while the people of Nri-Awka axis said that Ezechime originally came from Arochukwu, settled in Nri-Akwa area (Northern Igbo), and founded many communties in both the Northern and Western areas of Igboland. (Note: "Ezechime" is sometimes spelled "Ezechima" in some Igbo dialects).

"Orofia is the second largest village in Abagana today in terms of population and land mass after Umudunu. As is the case with Umudunu, its founder was an immigrant called "Chime" ("Chima" in some dialects).

"According to further account of our sources, this Chime was a great warrior, adventurer, and statesman who came from "Ohafia" near Arochukwu in Abia State in search of slaves and merchandise. Some elders say that Chime rather came from Arochukwu but many of his followers were from Ohafia and environs. Our source had it that this man founded "Orofia" settlement in other towns like Nimo, Enugu-Ukwu, Eziowelle, Alor, Umudioka, Ogbunike, Ogidi, Ukpo, Oraukwu, and others in the course of his numerous adventures and expeditions, but finally settled in Abagana with his soldiers of fortune and founded "Orofia village Abagana". Chime later married from Akpu Abagana and eventually crossed the River Niger with his family and followers, and in the course of the adventure, he founded Onicha Ugbo, Onicha Olona, Issele Ukwu, Issele Azagba, Issele Mkpitime, Obior, Onicha Mmiri, which are all part of the Ezechima clan in Igboland."

1)What about similarities in names?
2)similarities in kings title?
3)opc membership?
4)similarities in Facial looks?

Any explanation on these?

I want to distinctly dot the difference.

Is that what u could deduct after I broke ur baseless claims...

First every language has similarities with the other. I thought I have educated u abt names in that other thread..., U just want other pple to know that u are ignorant...
Benin and Yoruba names might be similar but they don't bear the same meaning..
The same way olaniyi has a good meaning in Yoruba but is like an insult in Igbo... Would u now say Yoruba and Igbo are the same

2)The fact that Benin use oba doesn't make it similar... It is as a result of interaction with the Yorubas. Prior to 1914... Tell me how many kings in Yoruba land used the title oba...
Oyo- Alaafin
Ife- Ooni
Ijebu- Awujale
Ilesha- Owa
Akure-Deji

So can u explain how the use of Oba now means that Benin are Yorubas

3)Where the fvck did u see Benin as part of opc?

4) Similarities in facial looks?... Its like u grow dumber by the day or u don't read to understand...
Its people like u that claim to know people's age just by face
Its people like u that think all northerner are Hausa Fulani
Its people like u that think all Igbo pple are Jews because they are fair...

In summary, u nor get sense

Some people on this thread don't even know what they are doing on this thread, They just want pple to Think they are smart...
Look at this one for example.. He said that the oba of Benin is Yoruba
Bkayyy:

Igodomigodo was a town under the control of nri, ruled by the ogiso (Republicans just like us) before her invasion by Ife yoruba warriors. When the siege became uncontrollable, the last ogiso had to partition the town to the descendant of the prince of Ife and ile ibinu was born.
The partitioning came with conditions that ile ibinu (present day Benin) has to pay annual homage to the Ogiamien royal family which is the house of the ogiso that partitioned the town and the new leader of the Ife ile ibinu must visit the Ogiamien shrine before coronation . The house goes with the title "The Ogiamien Royal family of Igodomigodo".
But as nature had it, when the colonialists came. The people they first had contact with was the yoruba Oba of Benin, who them claimed the to be the king of both his ile ibinu and igodomigodo.
The thing here is that the royal family of igodomigodo still maintain her royal privileges till date and does not bow to the Oba of Benin or surrender to her court
Then he goes on to post this link that says that the first oba is Benin

No Nigerian ethnic group has old and rich verifiable history like Ndigbo. Others just make up things, like those that claim that they have empire that stretched to Sudan but in reality, the only war documented about them was when 20 women from dahormey sacked and beheaded their Oba

Don't start what you can't finish!! Igbo's have no identity/ history, that is the pure fact, the dahormey army was defeated by only the Egbas ( a subset of the Yoruba nation) , do you know how many years the Dahomey kingdom used in paying tributes to Oyo empire? you cant know because you have no history, NRI is fabricated just like a fake Aba shoe, that is why your people don't have any origin to cling to.

what you don't know is , there were people that have lived in subsaharan Africa before the current set of people who are there presently, probably pre historic times, now the mere fact some archeological artefacts are seen on a land does not mean it belongs to the present occupants of the land, those Egyptian mummies and relics does not belong to current Egyptians because they are Arabs who invaded Egypt in the 7th century.

In Syria, there were excavations that showed black kings and subjects in an area near Damascus, but the current people of syria are not blacks.......so connect the dots

The fact that some civilization were dated and found in ( current igboland) does not mean it belongs to Igbo people, land is static, humans are transient, same applies to every tribe.

But on the main issue, when it comes to history about igbos, damn, it is very shallow!!, and your people are not helping matters, today they are from NRI, tomorrow they are Jews, that is pure lack of identity.

The Group traces the origin of the revolt to had began when Oromiyan returned from Ile – Ife to Benin as the rightful heir to the throne of his grandfather; Ogiso Owodo.

But he was stiffly resisted by the Ogiamien family who were the regents for about 70 years of absence of Prince Ekaladerhan; the exiled first son of Ogiso Owodo who was said to had migrated to Ile – Ife and later known by the Yoruba people as Oduduwa.

Following the Ogiamien resistance of Oromiyan, the Council of Elders (Edion) decided to build a palace at Usama, a periphery of the Kingdom along the present day Siluko road where he settled to rule over Benin but just for awhile.

The press conference

In later years, Oromiyan’s grandson, Oba Ewedo moved the palace to the heart of Igodomigodo now known as Benin (Edo) on the realization that “as an Oba, his authority over his people must be total and not sectional.”

Here again the Ogiamiens stiffly resisted the King in a fierce battle as they were already colonizing the area.

But upon Oba Ewedo’s defeat of Ogiamien and his warriors, the Ekiokpagha treaty was brokered.

After the defeat of Ogiamien, and a treaty reached, his jurisdiction subject to Oba Ewedo’s approval, was “therefore reduced to Utatan (Sokponba Road) from the beginning at present day Asoro to Ivbiyeneva moat (present day third junction).

“So when these people currently come out to claim Utatan Kingdom, it therefore means that they are referring to the beginning of Sokponba road at first East Circular to where Sokponba terminates at Third Junction, which inherently means that Chief Ogiamien is more or less an Odionwere of Utantan (Sokponba Road).”

Further, the group narrated that the Oba’s army defeated Ogiamien and pushed them to Unueru where the battle ended (now Asoro street) while Oba Ewedo was at Ekiokpagha where Ogiamien surrendered to him.

Protestors

Pointing out that the Ekiokpagha treaty was a ruse created from the imagination of the Ogiamiens, the group questioned “how then did the vanquished Ogiamien now determined terms of the treaty as been canvassed by the descendants?

Hence, “majority of the Obas did not observe the Ekiokpagha mock battle because of the insignificance of the practice as obtained during the coronation phase of the newly crowned Oba of Benin.”

GBD noted that it was another moonlight tale when the Ogiamiens argued that Ogiso Owodo had no child hence Obas of Benin have no royal blood relationship with the Ogisos.

“The Ogiso family are still alive till date and they all acknowledge that the Oba of Benin is an extension of them.
